The Waldorf Astoria Hotel is also one of the high-end hotels in Chengdu. The environment is good, relatively low-key, and the service is very good. It is worthy of being a five-star hotel. However, the food tastes average and is quite salty. The service is really good.
Encountering the Waldorf Astoria: A Screen-Sweeping Moment Since last week, my social media feeds have been flooded with one name: the Waldorf Astoria Chengdu. First, the 2026 Chengdu Michelin Guide was released online, and it made its debut, instantly becoming a "New Landmark of Tianfu Cuisine." Even through the screen, I could sense the sophisticated yet restrained pride, as if I could see the mature, handsome chef, neatly dressed in a snow-white uniform, a crisp collar, standing at the entrance of "Yun" Chinese Restaurant, a faint smile on his face. It wasn't a surprise, but rather a composure honed over years, finally visible to the world. Two days later, I saw on a video account that American professional basketball superstar LeBron James was on his China tour, once again landing in Chengdu. The fans were rapturous, with flashes of light and cheers all converging in the Waldorf Astoria lobby. But what really struck me was the welcome dessert I saw later: a baby panda holding a mini basketball. The adorable and creative look instantly took over all platforms. Who has so beautifully combined the softness of Chengdu with the passion of basketball? It's still this one! It suddenly dawned on me: the so-called "highlight" isn't just about the spotlight; it's also about the meticulous attention to detail that quietly integrates local culture into a premium experience. From the tip of your tongue to your eyes, from your taste buds to your heart, it captures everything with a calm and stunning touch. The lights are on at this new landmark, and everyone says it's expensive. Amidst the twin towers, surrounded by stars and diamonds, the Waldorf Astoria leads the way.
The Waldorf Astoria's "Yun" Chinese restaurant, featuring Chef Yang's newly launched Michelin-starred tasting menu, is currently very popular, with the restaurant packed every evening. The stunning nighttime views from the Waldorf Astoria combined with the delicious food create an atmosphere of refined elegance. The 500+ yuan set menu includes fifteen dishes, incorporating ingredients from various regions of Sichuan. Dishes such as Jiange free-range chicken, Ya'an Ya fish, Anyue lemon, Jiuzhaigou rice noodles, and Northern Sichuan rice jelly are presented in different dishes, while traditional dishes like Kung Pao shrimp, crispy beef with Sichuan peppercorns, and Mapo tofu with rice jelly showcase the complex flavor profiles of Sichuan cuisine. A good meal paired with a beautiful cityscape. Waldorf Astoria Chengdu · Yun Chinese Restaurant
Damn, the Waldorf Astoria Yunzhong Restaurant has been nominated for a 2026 Chengdu Michelin Guide. Absolutely unbiased and fair verdict. It's so delicious I'm almost swearing! And last night, I discovered another way to enjoy the restaurant! ⬇️ Sichuan cuisine should be enjoyed in large groups, lively and exciting. After finishing the dry-fried fish, the remaining sauerkraut can be scooped up and immediately mixed with mapo tofu and rice. The boneless rabbit is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a sharp, unmistakable spicy kick that's so satisfying it'll make you sweat and cry. The black pork from Daliangshan, simmered for a long time until tender, is combined with the hotel's homemade crispy white flour guokui to create a barbecued pork bun. The tomato scrambled eggs, seemingly the most unconventional, have a fluffy, bubbly egg, and the Miyi tomatoes are easily stir-fried to create a delightfully sweet and sour tropical flavor... It was absolutely delicious, and everyone worked hard to finish their plate. On top of that, I heard Chef Yang was on vacation yesterday. This product is so reliable! [Awesome]
