When visiting Shantang Street, you absolutely must try this Jiangnan-style restaurant! After strolling along the canals and bridges of Shantang Street, my legs were aching. Right at the entrance of the scenic area, I found this Suzhou-style restaurant and was instantly captivated by its Jiangnan charm and antique elegance. 🦐Osmanthus-Scented Prawns The moment they arrived at the table, the aroma of osmanthus mingled with the fresh scent of prawns filled the air! The prawn meat was firm and springy, incredibly flavorful, and sprinkled with osmanthus blossoms—it smelled amazing! We devoured it in no time; it was the fastest dish to finish! 😂 🌽Corn and Pork Rib Soup The soup was fresh and delicious, the corn was sweet, and the pork ribs were stewed until tender and falling off the bone. A bowl of this was incredibly refreshing and thirst-quenching, completely healing the fatigue from our shopping spree! 🎍Dried Bamboo Shoots and Fish Gluten The fish gluten absorbed the savory flavor of the dried bamboo shoots. One bite revealed a perfect balance of softness and chewiness—the essence of Jiangnan's umami flavor in every single bite! 🍽️After finishing our meal, we ordered a dessert: Mango Pomelo Sago with Swan Eggs 🍧. The delicate swan egg shape was delightful; we gently tapped it with a spoon, and the mango pomelo sago flowed out! The mango and grapefruit pulp mixed with sago pearls was sweet and sour, refreshing and not greasy at all, a perfect complement to today's dishes! 👍

The scenic experience of navigating through the mangroves on a bamboo raft is simply breathtaking! 👍 Admission is 70 yuan for adults and 35 yuan for seniors and children. 🧡Shajiabang⭐⭐⭐ Spanning 6,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres), Shajiabang is a leisure and tourism resort integrating revolutionary education, green wetlands, and performing arts. 🎊 Here, you can experience the rich history while enjoying the natural scenery, making it a perfect place for children to broaden their horizons. 🚩 Admission is 100 yuan for adults and 50 yuan for seniors. 🗼Square Pagoda⭐⭐ Fully known as the "Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Pagoda," this nine-story building is a landmark of Changshu Ancient City. Built in the Southern Song Dynasty, it is imbued with historical charm. 🕰️ Nearby are tons of classic Changshu snacks, making it a delightful treat to savor after visiting the pagoda. 😋 Admission is free. 🏞️Zhao Garden and Zeng Garden⭐⭐ Originally, this area was the site of Qian Dai's "Little Wangchuan," the imperial censor during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. During the Qianlong and Jiaqing periods of the Qing Dynasty, it was divided into two gardens, Zhao Garden and Zeng Garden. Spanning approximately 20 mu (approximately 16 acres), this garden is one of the most famous classical gardens in Jiangnan. The scenery is elegant and perfect for a leisurely stroll and taking photos. 📷 Admission is also free. 🍱 A time-honored gourmet restaurant 🥘 Deyilou Steamed Vegetable Restaurant: Excellent traditional dishes, generous portions, and delicious flavors. The duck blood glutinous rice noodle soup is a must-try; it's absolutely amazing! 😍 🥗 Yuhou Xingcai Restaurant: Fusion and innovative dishes, every dish is delicious. We've been there multiple times and are always incredibly satisfied! 🤣 🍡 Songsheng Cakes and Rice Balls: Their glutinous rice balls are very popular, and the lines are long but fast. The Songhuahuang (Songhuahuang) is pretty good, with a generous amount of red bean paste filling, but the portions are a bit large, making it easy to overeat. 🤭 🍜 Xingfu Old Noodle House: At the foot of Yushan Mountain, I had the tanyou noodles there after climbing Yushan three years ago. The satisfying feeling is still unforgettable! 😆 🥧Zhou's Plum Blossom Cake: Available in red bean paste and fresh meat flavors. Unfortunately, the ones we bought weren't freshly made and were a bit dry. Try to buy freshly-made ones! 😅 🧂Tanong Roasted Nuts: Small bags of candied sunflower seeds and other roasted nuts, with a wide variety, costing only three or four yuan a bag. They're a great value and make great souvenirs! 🎁 In short, Changshu is truly a fantastic weekend getaway near Shanghai.
