The cafeteria has always been a highlight, a point of criticism, and a source of sarcasm at Anaya. Anaya has nine cafeterias in total, and the closest one to the Anlan Hotel where I stayed this time is the third cafeteria. I ate there twice during my three-day stay, so here's a photo of the dishes I ordered.
The selection is quite extensive, with dishes from all corners of the globe, from Cantonese barbecued pork to Northwest beef ramen and roujiamo (Chinese roujiamo), from Taiwanese braised pork rice to Shanghainese soy sauce beef fried rice.
The prices are also very reasonable. Anaya is said to have over a hundred restaurants, and the average price at the cafeteria is about a third of theirs.
The only problem is that during peak meal times, there's a line, but the waiters manage the food well, and you can get a seat in just over ten minutes.
There's also a dumpling restaurant upstairs that's quite busy.
