Above the reclining Buddha are a group of statues depicting Shakyamuni preaching before his nirvana. The Yuanjue Cave Scenic Area is located on Yunju Mountain, 1 kilometer southeast of Anyue County, Sichuan Province. It is a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site. It contains 103 existing caves and niches, housing 1,933 statues. Most of the statues date back to the Tang, Five Dynasties, and Song dynasties.
