From the moment you arrive, you know you are in a very special location. You are in the centre of Vienna but it is so quiet and peaceful it feels like you are out in the country side. You also feel very welcome because of a very friendly team of staff, You then have a wonderful choice of food in the menu, food that I have never experienced after 46 years in Vienna. Similarly, there is a broad selection of drinks available. Today was very special as we found a wonderful French wine that was produced in the year my son was born, 1983!!! It is hard to imagine a more wonderful experience!

Everything about Buxbaum is perfect: the staff are so welcoming and friendly and efficient; the location is unique (it is hard to believe you are in the city centre); and the menu and food selection is so original. I was surprised by all aspects of the menu. I will be back at the restaurant very soon!

The ambiance of Buxbaum is relaxed with excellent table spacing and a low level of music. The staff are friendly, extremely professional and helpful. The food was a mixture of great flavours, good portions, innovative combinations and full of very pleasant surprises. The wine advice for each course was superb and they have zero-alcohol beer! The meal was not cheap because it costs to get all these things right and it was worth every Euro. It is on my list of places to return to.

The small dining rooms are charming and the food was creative and delicious. We had a late lunch in the dining room and it was a good value for the quality of the food. In warmer months the quiet location and the large outdoor space would be lovely.
