Really lovely place, we had a big table so had private dining room. Degustation was delicious, wines lovely and a great place off the beaten track. Well worth a visit
Excellent service and the degustation was sensational. This restaurant is a historic little gem in a unique and picturesque setting. We can't wait to return.
Absolutely loved the garlic baguette and the tartare beef for the starters. The rest of the meal was very enjoyable and I liked the unique whisky collection they had on display in the dining room. The wait staff were a little green but in a cute way. We had a great time overall dining here and recommend for special occasions.
We had the 7 course degustation winter set menu. The food was OK but definitely not worth $80pp let alone the full price of $160pp. At this price I'd expect a much higher quality. The first course, bread with tapenade, was good. Tapenade was full of flavour and the bread was OK. Second course, cauliflower veloute was the highlight of the night. Amazing flavours and incredible depth. Almost made the meal worth it. Third course, salmon, was OK. It was fresh and the confit had a nice balance to it. Fourth course was by far the worst. It was meant to be pork belly and snails with beef ragu. What came out was pork belly and snails on baked beans!! Baked beans?? They were so bland and just ruined the whole meal. The fifth and sixth courses were fine, good pastry on the fish pie and beef cheek was well cooked but quite basic in flavour. The dessert course again was OK, but very very basic. Was essentially just a brownie with ice cream. In general, the food was just a bit dull, not the quality I expected.
