In January I rented 2 rooms for this past weekend off of trip.com as a nonrefundable booking so I paid for rooms at time of booking and money was immediately charged to my account. Got to hotel for check in, Sherri(sorry if spelling wrong) asked if I wanted to use card on file and I explained I already paid. She said it was a hold for Incidentals so I said ok. She said the computer wouldn't let her use that credit card so I scanned a different one. I then checked my credit card app to see how much hold for incidentals was and it showed being charged for both rooms for a higher price than what I paid. I asked her about it and she said the second room was unable to charge the original card so it charged to that credit card. I first explained it was all pre paid and showed her where it came out of my account in January and on top of that it also didn't make sense that the hotel amount was higher than what I booked at on trip.com which I also pulled up and showed her. She said that my my fault for ”using a 3rd party” because they cannot guarantee rates booked through them. She said I would have to contact them and I asked if she was saying trip.com was a scam and she said it was possible (even though trip.com is a well known booking site and I've never had a issue before). I explained I only thought the hold was for incidentals as she mentioned and was not expecting almost $300 more to be charged and she said there was nothing that could be done as her manager was not in until Monday and the assistant manager had recently quit and they were not allowed to contact their manager on her days off for any reason. I asked multiple times for her to contact her manager since this was a signifant problem as I had not expected a extra charge for the weekend and because I was from out of state it concerned me no one in charge would be available for another 3 days and by then I woukd be gone. She continued saying she was absolutely not allowed to contact her supervisor under any circumstances. Another coworker with her agreed with her. I will say neither employee was rude, but it is ridiculous there is no one they could call to get help. They said corporate would not be able to be of assistance then either and only thier manager who was not available until Monday and they were not allowed to contact on her days off. Other than that (and the fridge not getting cold until the last day).... the hotel, pool, and breakfast were all very nice. Show less

While visiting family in the area we stayed here over night on a Saturday evening. We got there really late, around 9:30PM to check in and that went well and was smooth. The property is actually big compared to many of the Fairfield Inns I’ve stayed in recently. The room we got was a suite and it was decent. Relatively clean and had two TV’s. The bathroom was decent, but the water was too soft, so soap was difficult to remove. The bed was comfy and looked clean. Stayed in 5 different Marriott properties over the past week and this was is ranked about a 3 out of those 5. It’s very easy to get to, being right off the highway, but without the highway noise. There’s a free breakfast there, but there are also restaurants within a mile, like Bob Evans and other diners. I’d stay here again.

The convenience of staying right at the ****** was the best part of the stay. It was great to walk right up to our room after a fun night without having to go outside. But other than that it was just ok. The staff checking us in looked tired and worn down. They were clearly used to checking in people who stay at ******s often but this was new to us. When I said it was our first time here I would have appreciated some info about breakfast and maybe an offer for a players card. Some staff were new so learning the job is understandable, but it just looked like it had been a really long day. The room was fine. It was clean and comfortable. The ****** was a lot of fun. Breakfast the next am was pretty basic, cereal oatmeal, toast, bagels, muffins and yogurt. The host arranging it all was lovely and helpful. He found earl gray tea for me when I asked. It was a fun overnight at an ok hotel. Glad we gave it a try.

Everyone was very nice. The hotel was clean. Check in was easy. The location was right off the highway and near many chain stores (Target, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Bed, Bath, and Beyond), restaurants, and a grocery store. There was a free grab-and-go breakfast (muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, juice, coffee). I only had one problem. I am allergic to feather pillows. There were 6 pillows in our room, all were feather pillows. I called down to the front desk and asked for a different pillow. They said they would have to check to see if they had other pillows. Minutes later a very nice person from housekeeping was at my door giving me another pillow....which was also a feather pillow. We ended up having to buy new pillows for our stay.

Excellent location. Very clean and comfortable guest rooms. Quiet. We were on the highway side and did not hear the cars at night. Lots of dining options within walking distance. Excellent price for this type of accommodation.

Hampton Inn & Suites West Morgantown University Towne Centre

This was one of the cleanest and well presented Hampton properties that we have stayed at. From the moment you walk in to the lobby, the adjacent dining area, the hallways, and the room, this property really stood out. The small firepits outside the hotel were a great touch, especially for the cooler late summer evenings. The room was very clean, without anything to note on the contrary. Even the A/C unit in the room (something that in many hotels is loud all evening as it turns on/off) was relatively quiet. Finally, the staff and their helpfulness were the final exclamation point, giving this hotel a much deserved 5/5 rating.
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Beckley, WV

Overall clean hotel with very convienent location. Breakfast choices were a bit limted to prepackaged items. Also, the room was not too great. Matrices need replacement, just awful. Shower head height was made for a 4 foot child or handicapped person, it could not be adjusted up for an adult. Water pressure terrible. This is a popular hotel location so be prepared for parking challenges.
