Wow, I must say - this was a great trip! My wife and I desperately needed to get away from all the stress and troubles of day-to-day life, and this hotel really gave us everything we needed. - Food and drinks - 8.5/10. Every lunch and dinner, we could find something for us (and my wife is a pretty picky eater). Our main hit was the fast food station at lunch - sliders, burgers, hot dogs, wraps—everything was amazing. The food selection rotates every 7 days. They also have a nice selection of condiments. Tiger lager is crisp and refreshing. Cocktails are okay, especially if you get Premium All-Inclusive (check my tip below). Also - if you love spicy food like I do, you'll be pleased. - Service - 7/10. Overall, the service was good. The staff is generally polite and welcoming. But, as usual, a couple of grumpy staff members spoiled the perfect picture. Our biggest ”boo” goes to the Dive Center guy. C’mon, man, you gotta be a little more polite to the guests if you work in the hotel industry. - Cleanliness - 9/10. Your room is cleaned every day, and all public spaces are also kept in good condition. Yeah, this isn’t a super-luxury 5-star resort, but everything is tidy and nice. - Beach, ocean, views, and animals - 9/10. Blue water, warm sand, stars in the sky at night - what else do you need? This applies to Platinum Island only, though. It’s probably the only place where the water level is high enough to swim pretty much all day. We’re also big animal lovers, so we had lots of fun watching the rabbits, taking pictures with big crabs, or being amazed when a couple of grey herons stopped by our villa at sunset. - Water activities. The excursions are entertaining (we went on a dolphin safari and shark watching), and snorkeling tours are also a must-do (at least a couple of times to see different reefs). Some things to be aware of: - We skipped every single breakfast except the last one, and it wasn’t anything special. - Weather. We got lucky - it only rained a couple of times, mainly during the night. However, we heard that the week before our arrival wasn’t great. Night thunderstorms are a thing of beauty, though. - Evening activities are pretty boring. Nothing happens on Platinum Island (I guess that's because it’s supposed to be secluded and quiet, but some ice-breaker games would be nice for those who don’t mind meeting new people). The main island activities are boring and repetitive. Don’t forget to bring books and board games. Tips: - Platinum Island > Main Island. Quiet place, no crowds at lunch, you can swim right next to your villa, and it's a short walk to the bar. - Platinum AI > Normal AI. Some reviews say the cocktails are mediocre. As a big cocktail fan, I can say this is somewhat true—cocktails were hit or miss. But you can easily fix this with Platinum AI package. Just get simple 2-3 ingredient cocktails and you're good to go (Fino sherry & tonic, Boulevardier, and Pina Colada were my favorites). Two excursions and the beach di
