"We stayed at this hotel for more than 10 days. When I extended my stay for one more night, I was told that I needed to change rooms and that the staff would call me with the details. I waited all day, but no one contacted me. In the evening, my key card suddenly stopped working, and I couldn’t get into my room. It was only after 8:30 p.m. that I was finally told I had to change rooms. The room change itself was not the problem. The lack of communication and poor handling of the situation caused a lot of unnecessary inconvenience. This experience also left me wondering whether guests who book through a third-party platform are treated differently. I hope that was not the case, but after staying for more than 10 days, I expected much better service."

"The hotel is a bit old, but it's so clean you wouldn't know it. The 24-hour convenience store inside the hotel is incredibly handy. We also enjoyed a lovely meal by Inya Lake. The only drawback? You absolutely need a taxi to get anywhere. That said, it's probably the same no matter which hotel you stay at in Yangon during the rainy season."

"If you have asthma, heart conditions, or allergies, do not stay here. I am an open-heart surgery survivor and PDA patient. Despite requesting a non-smoking room on Trip.com, Lotte Hotel Yangon forced us onto a smoking floor. They explicitly told us that because we didn't book directly, they would not accommodate us unless we paid a $20 USD per day extra charges to get a non smoking room. Exploiting a guest's medical need for clean air to extract extra money is abusive. And hotel breakfast is done at 9:30 am"

"I ordered lunch, but the food took far too long to arrive. To make matters worse, customers who arrived after us were served before we were. They were even seated right in front of us, which made the situation even more frustrating. Because of this experience, I don't think I will come here for lunch again. Other than that, the service was excellent."

"This hotel is a golf resort with a garden-style design, situated in a high-end community area that feels very safe. The indoor and outdoor executive lounge is open and inviting, and the restaurant is quite thoughtful. Overall, it's a well-maintained hotel. The rooms are spacious with private balconies overlooking the golf course, which is a much better view than what you'd typically get from a luxury hotel in the city center. The staff are all friendly and professional. I'll definitely stay here again when I return to Yangon."

"LOCATION Excellent location. In the immediate vicinity of the central train station. A 15-minute walk from Sule, with all its bus lines. A good starting point for exploring the city on foot. Shopping centers are in the immediate vicinity. A 30-minute taxi ride from the airport. SERVICE Excellent welcome and service. Excellent attention at every moment, whether from the housekeeping staff, restaurant staff, concierge, or the gym/spa/pool staff. PS: Please note the $200 USD security deposit required for some reservations. This should be anticipated, although it is payable by credit card (check if this option is worth according to your bank's terms and conditions applied for transaction in Myanmar). ENVIRONMENT Quiet and safe neighborhood. Elegant and comfortable hotel. Harmonious and high-quality layout. Impeccable maintenance. ROOM Superior King Bed Room: Perfect for one person, with a desk area and a small sitting area. Bright. Well laid out. Comfortable. Very good quality bedding. Clean, high-quality linens. Spacious and clean bathroom. Hot water with good pressure. Very good Wi-Fi. Conveniently placed electrical outlets. Excellent lighting. Luggage storage available (for one bag). Pleasant city view. Central air conditioning system. It worked perfectly, but I didn't find the adjustments very user-friendly. BREAKFAST Large dining room. Well-spaced buffet area, open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Elegant dining room. I preferred the back of the room for its quietness, privacy, and comfort. Attentive and courteous staff. A well-stocked and varied buffet. Yet, there was a noticeable difference in quality between the buffet, the kitchen staff, and the buffet presentation between weekdays and weekends. Some of the glass-fronted areas in the dining room were not clean at all: cobwebs, long-standing dust, and general grime. This needs improvement, as it's not what you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber. The buffet occupied most of my mornings; however, I'm not sure I would have wanted to pay an additional $20 USD for it if it wasn't already included in the reservation. FACILITIES *The hotel has all the facilities one would expect for a hotel of this standard. In conclusion, I benefited from a very good price offer through Trip.com, which accurately reflected the hotel's value for money. I was truly delighted with my stay and will keep the PARKROYAL on my list of favorites for a future trip."

"The hotel is decent. The staff tried their best to help with everything, but it felt like I was the first person to ever ask about where to buy a SIM card, find a supermarket, or an exchange office. All my questions seemed new and strange to them. When I checked in, I saw a bug in the room, thought it was a cockroach, so I called the reception. They sent a whole 'consultation' of five people to deal with it... Turns out it was just a seasonal beetle! The breakfasts were so-so, but edible."

"After reading George Orwell's 'Burmese Days,' I had a spontaneous idea to visit Myanmar for a few days. Then I found out that The Strand Hotel, one of Asia's three heritage hotels, the 'Pearl of Southeast Asia,' and the oldest hotel in Southeast Asia, had reopened! It was perfect in my eyes: 1. **Reasonable price**; 2. **Great location** (right by the Yangon River, next to the Rosewood Hotel, and just a 10-minute walk from the Sule Pagoda in the city center); 3. **Rich history and countless literary references**; 4. **Its experience of closing due to civil war**; 5. **Excellent drinks and delicious food** (even the late-night snacks were good); 6. **Proficient English speakers among the front desk, restaurant, and bar staff**; 7. **Exceptional service**."

Their genuine warmth and efficiency truly elevated the entire meal. Overall, the entire experience at the Governor's Residence was out of this world. It was a memorable occasion that exceeded all expectations. We can't recommend it highly enough for anyone seeking a truly premier dining and hospitality experience."

"This hotel boasts a super convenient downtown location, surrounded by numerous restaurants, shops, and even a shopping mall. However, be aware that it gets very crowded with people and traffic during the day, and can feel a bit chaotic at night. The staff are well-trained and genuinely helpful, and the overall service, including housekeeping, is excellent. The room was spacious – perhaps even too big for one person. The bathroom facilities were clean and easy to use. My only minor wish is that the lighting in the room could be a bit brighter. Breakfast was decent, but it felt a little less impressive compared to other hotels in Yangon in the same price range. If you enjoy Chinese or Indian cuisine, you'll probably find it satisfactory. Overall, if you're looking for comfort and a central downtown location, this hotel is definitely a solid choice."
