"This hotel is fantastic and fully equipped, truly a resort hotel, and many Japanese guests stay here! First, the hotel will send you an email in advance to confirm your dinner time. We booked dinner for two nights; it was a set menu, and the menu changed daily! The rooms are spacious, and there are many yukata choices! There are two hot springs ♨️, one in the main building and one in the south building. Currently, there are no private baths. We tried both. The main building's is smaller but fully equipped and less crowded. The south building isn't too far to walk to, just a few stairs! Both sides have restaurants. We stayed in the main building and dined there. Breakfast was indeed a bit of a hassle; you usually have to wait. You can go down early to make a reservation, and they'll call your room when it's ready! If you have time, you definitely need to try the hotel's facilities. It has three stops, including a free spa and an indoor water park. We went to the spa, and swimsuits were provided, which was very convenient! The internal shuttle runs until 11 PM, so you can go in the evening too! Be aware that the shuttle to the Kogen Station is the same as the internal shuttle, so make sure to ask when you get on! Both the hotel's dinner and breakfast are high-quality, and breakfast even includes sashimi rice! Plus, the hotel's souvenir shop is cheaper than the one at JR Station! I recommend having dinner at the hotel, as there's absolutely nothing around, no shops! But the hotel itself is so exciting, it's worth it even if you just stay and enjoy the hotel!"

"I stopped by during my rental car trip. The rooftop open-air bath was fantastic. Mt. Fuji was hidden by clouds, but the view was still amazing. It might be difficult to get there without a rental car, but I think there's a shuttle bus. It seems like many people use the hot springs for day trips. The baths themselves are different for day trips. The rooftop open-air bath is only available to hotel guests."

"We had a lovely stay at Himalaya Sea. We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Incredibly clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, amazing sea views, a nice little pool for cooling off in, as well as private and shared Onsen. They were able to accommodate us and provided a vegetarian breakfast. The free drinks (sodas, juice, wine, whiskey, etc) were appreciated. Thank you Himalaya Sea, we hope we can come back again some day!"

"If you don't mind the aging of the facilities and the lack of cleanliness, and only prioritize the ocean view, feel free to book this hotel. The stunning ocean view, visible from the curtains, is its biggest advantage. While it's not cheap, it's not expensive in that area. Before booking, I knew this was a very old hotel, and other guests had mentioned the grimy windows, but I still booked it because I valued the stunning ocean view. After checking in, I felt that even a first-tier ocean view couldn't offset the negative experience I had with the basics and hygiene. For example, the washbasin leaked very slowly, and after washing my face, all the foamy water would accumulate in the basin, taking a long time to drain out, making it look filthy. The bathtub, on the other hand, was a complete waste; I didn't dare use it. There were all sorts of unidentified marks on the low table in the room. I suspect it was from guests dining in the room with two meals a night. There was also an unidentified odor in the room, a bit like cigarettes but not quite, possibly related to the dining experience. We had three beds, two single beds, and a mattress on the other. The quilt was a floral quilt, a rare sight in China. The fabric was poor quality, and most importantly, it made me itch when I used it. I guess it hadn't been cleaned in ages and had simply been piled up in the guest room closet. The quilt on the single bed was the hotel's standard solid-color quilt, so my husband and I shared the single bed for both nights. Also, I don't know if there was rust or something inside the water dispenser; I was afraid to drink the water after seeing it. Let's talk about the service. When I checked in, I saw an elderly man and woman at the front desk who were probably over 80 years old. We communicated with each other through translation software. Check-in went smoothly, but I booked a standard double room with four tatami mats and no bed. I didn't want a bed, but I was still assigned a room with a bed. This was considered an upgrade, but no one told me about this. I didn't want to embarrass the elderly man and woman, so I didn't mention it to them. When I checked out, I told the front desk that I needed a shuttle bus. I saw the front desk went to find a colleague, and it turned out that the elderly man was washing coffee cups. He dropped his work and took us to Atagawa Station. So although there were few waiters, I felt the service was okay those two days."

"Considering the price, especially compared to other private onsen (hot spring) options in Izu, getting two private baths – one indoor and one outdoor – is incredible! Plus, there's a little courtyard with koi fish and a free breakfast! You can even send postcards home for free! The lobby has seeds from the seasonal plants in their garden, some small crafts for sale, and a little bookshelf. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, there's a small stream lined with maple trees, which I imagine would be beautiful in autumn. It feels very lived-in, like staying in an old house from a classic Japanese drama. The building is old, but everything is spotlessly clean and tidy. The lobby doesn't have air conditioning, so it was quite hot from the entrance all the way to the room, and there were huge mosquitoes. AC is only in the rooms, and they provided an extra fan, which kept things pretty cool. If you open other doors in the room, it can cool down the adjacent room a bit (but not much). Most of the time, you can sit in front of the garden, zone out, and feed the fish. It's a bit of a walk to the station and convenience store, but over my two days there, I found the scenery along the way quite nice. Rural Japan isn't as convenient as commercial centers, offering a quiet, peaceful kind of inconvenience (said playfully, of course). Oh, and there was a large spider in the room. I tried to shoo it out but couldn't, so I called a staff member who kindly removed it for me. Also, remember to turn off the lights if you're not using the bathroom or the outdoor private bath, as outdoor lights attract a lot of bugs. Overall, it was great, and I'd definitely come back."

"The room has a balcony facing the ocean and was able to catch the beautiful sunrise from the balcony. Room was clean. The air conditioner seems like it was not working but not a big issue as it was cold during my stay. I opened the balcony sliding door to let the cold wind in for ventilation and the calming sound of the sea waves was so relaxing that I fell asleep soon. The bed was fantastic."

An at-home cottage nestled near Jogasaki Coast, with all rooms featuring onsen flowing baths. A tranquil space surrounded by nature. Gentle sunlight streams into the rooms, with luxurious onsen flowing baths. Please enjoy a high-quality relaxation time.

"It's a bit out of the way, a 10-minute walk from the bus. However, the owner was very friendly and proactively asked guests if they needed to go to the convenience store or attractions. The room was spacious, and there was a saltwater hot spring to soak in. The breakfast buffet offered both Japanese and Western options, but reservations were required. It was delicious and highly recommended!"

The room was spacious, but unfortunately, our assigned room was slightly off-center from the sea view. The public areas, however, were absolutely beautiful and uncrowded, making for a very relaxing experience. The cliffside hotel offered breathtaking views from its elevated position, especially the sea views at sunset and under the daytime sun – a stunning expanse of blue sky and ocean. One spot even reminded me of Jiuzhaigou! The pool area was surrounded by various hydrangeas, which was lovely. The nearby Kotoda Coast was also gorgeous, even more so than Tsumekizaki. The teppanyaki beef at Xiaoting was tender and delicious, the set meal was generous, and it even came with ice cream. Definitely worth a return visit.

The rooms are located up on the hill, but they offer free shuttle service to and from the station, which is great. As expected from a Marriott, it was clean, hygienic, and the service was excellent. The hot springs were very relaxing. It's a bit far from the main hotel, so breakfast isn't included, and there are no convenience stores nearby.

This was my first time visiting Minamiizu, and a friend recommended this hotel – it truly lived up to expectations! The accommodations were great, and the food was delicious. My only complaint is regarding the shuttle service. The day before check-in, I specifically asked about pickup details through Trip.com customer service. The hotel only sent a text message with the pickup time, but not the location. I assumed, like most hotels, that it would pick up in front of the JR station. To my surprise, I waited from 2 PM to 3 PM and saw no sign of the hotel bus. I started to feel something was wrong and checked Trip.com, where I saw a guest comment mentioning that after 3:10 PM, there would be no more pickups. Panicked, I immediately called the hotel. That's when I learned the hotel bus has a specific waiting point, around the corner, to the right of the JR station (and then to the right again). If this isn't communicated beforehand, and there are no signs at the station, it's impossible for guests to know where to wait. Therefore, I strongly suggest the hotel standardize its pickup service by clearly stating both the pickup time and location in advance. Both pieces of information are essential!

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Fuji Speedway Hotel. The hotel is modern, clean, and beautifully designed, with stunning views of the race circuit and surrounding mountains. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. We especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the unique experience of staying right next to the famous Fuji Speedway. The facilities were excellent, and the location was perfect for exploring the Mount Fuji area. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Japan. Highly recommended for both motorsport enthusiasts and travelers looking for a relaxing luxury stay.

It was a quaint, cozy hotel situated close to JR Atami Station. The hotel has very good food for both dinner and breakfast! The staff are friendly and even though they can't speak good English, they tried their best to communicate to the best of their knowledge and I really appreciate it! I especially enjoyed my time at the onsen on the rooftop, it has good facilities. The only thing is the cleanliness of the room, since there is still water in the kettle from the previous guests, I didn't want to drink any water from the kettle because of it. They should replace it with a new kettle or clean it. Otherwise, the room is also very cozy, they give yukatas for guests to wear them around the hotel and they also offer free transport to JR Atami station. Otherwise, I would have struggled to get around since there is lack of public transportation at Atami! I still have a very good time and enjoyed my time because of the friendly staff at the hotel, they are very helpful! 10/10 will come back again with my friends or family in the future.

The room is very spacious as it is like an apartment. The hotel is older but we can imagine it to be a luxury hotel back in its heyday. Location is no issue as we drove, and it was convenient to all the main attractions around the area eg. Mount omuro, jogasaki. The kids booked a slot in the kids playroom which is suitable for younger children. There was also a kids game which they can exchange for a prize upon completion, similar to Easter egg hunt, which made them excited and this helped us become familiar with the common areas and facilities.
