Expensive but excellent! The transportation here is very central. I've noticed that Japanese people's English has improved, and there are more vegetarian options. The politeness is still there, and the vibe is still the same – a mix of joy and sorrow 🎭. The train ride was a lot of fun.

Online hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

It is a very nice hotel with attentive staff! The hotel is about a 7 minutes walk from Kyoto station. It’s a very convenient place to stay if you’re catching an early train or arriving from a late one. I don’t know if I’d recommend it for a longer stay since the area is quite boring. There’s plenty of restaurants and shops within the station but they’re very crowded and more expensive. It’s also quite far away from the main sights of Kyoto, so for a longer stay I’d recommend staying downtown. The included room amenities are good but nothing special. There’s shaving kits, towels, haircare, skincare, tea, water, and yukata robes (the robes are not souvenirs). There’s a pool, a spa area, and a restaurant, which all have an additional fee. My room was clean, but I found some scuff marks on the walls and a crack in my bathtub. From Kyoto station you can see Kyoto tower but it’s not an amazing sight hahaha. It takes about 25 minutes to downtown Kyoto from the hote

The buffet was quite crowded, offering a wide variety of food. The coin-operated laundry machines and smoking area were well-equipped. The room amenities included everything except a razor. You can wear yukata and slippers throughout the hotel, and there's a great drink bar available in the evening.

The room was a bit small and the soundproofing was terrible; you could hear motorcycles and ambulances all night from the street. The hygiene was good, and the cleaning staff were very thorough. However, the service was quite poor. We had a child, but there were no kids' toothbrushes or slippers, and we had to ask for them. At breakfast on the ground floor, the staff on our last day offered an omelet menu and disposable bibs for children, which we had no idea were available on the first two days. On the other hand, the lounge staff were all excellent and even enthusiastically helped us find out where to buy Hokas.

A very special shout-out to Cecilia, who noticed my daughter’s love for Winnie the Pooh after our visit to Disneyland Resort. She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget. We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day. The Ritz Kids adventure passport was a delightful surprise — engaging not only for our daughter but also enjoyable for us as parents. And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We felt cared for, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated. We can’t wait to return again. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking an unforgettable Kyoto stay.

The location is just opposite Nijo Castle, within walking distance, very convenient. Kyoto is not big, very leisurely, and the hotel is generally good to the attractions. The front desk and lobby manager are good, their English is online, very international, especially the European and American guys hired, the communication is very smooth. The facilities in the room are also good, the breakfast is also great, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice machine is quite interesting.

Although it's a paid parking lot, it's reasonably priced. The room was spacious, and the location was convenient, making for a comfortable stay. The staff were also very polite and helpful.

This branded hotel in Kyoto offers great value for money. Kyoto is home to many luxury hotels like Aman, Capella, and Park Hyatt, which can be quite pricey and are better suited for a staycation to truly immerse oneself in Kyoto's culture. For this one-night stay, I chose the Westin. It's a large, established five-star hotel. Although it's older, all the details are still very well-maintained. The hotel is within walking distance of Nanzen-ji Temple, and a short taxi ride to Kawaramachi Shijo and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. There's also a shuttle bus to Kyoto Station every hour at 10 and 40 minutes past, which is very convenient. I booked two rooms and they were assigned next to each other. They even gave us the rooms at 12 PM, and the rooms had balconies. The breakfast was plentiful and excellent, with many freshly prepared dishes. For a hotel of this caliber in Kyoto, the price is truly remarkable.

Choosing a hotel during the peak season is a challenging task. I chose this place based on the overall credibility and value for money. The overall experience is good. It is not amazing, but it has some characteristics. The landscape design of the master is remarkable, and it is a good place to check in and take photos.
