Muthu Belstead Brook Hotel
4/5110 Reviews
The hotel is just on the outskirts of Ipswich. The staff are very welcoming, and extremely helpful. The rooms are of a good size and very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room every morning after we had gone out, which was excellent. The restaurant food is of a very high standard and there is a good choice including vegetarian options. In the bar area where it is of a relaxed nature, you can order food from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Either way, nothing is ever too much trouble. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a must. My husband used the gym which was of an average size and then would come down to the pool area for a jacuzzi. Although they have the spa treatment available, I can't really comment as I didn't use the facility. If you want a relaxing time or want to visit the seaside, Felixstowe is only a 30minute drive away. There are also many National Trust houses to visit. This the second time we have been to the Belstead Hotel and I can honestly say we will be visiting it again.

I have been looking at hotels with my father for a while, and found this hotel to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to location and facilities. Staff was absolutely professional and especially Heather was incredibly helpful when it came to suggestions for places to eat and leisure. Will absolutely stay again and can't wait to see what this place has more to offer
Ufford Park Resort

A very foggy cold night after a busy day it was nice to be welcomed by a friendly and informative receptionist. One nights stay room with small balcony overlooking the golf course and an incredible heater. Water pressure in shower is low but water hot The rooms feel they would benefit from being updated a few ******* . *TV remote didn't turn TV off had to get up and pop hand behind set and turn off at socket. **The hair on the bath definitely not mine! **No obvious hairdryer. ***Room Service called twice extn not answered went via reception transferred to the bar salmon cream cheese on brown ordered arrived quickly unfortunately on white bread. Pink G&T delicious. Breakfast. Warm welcome and explanation offered from team. Great variety and the hot food was hot. **** The team brief at the bar perhaps could have been carried out elsewhere. Checkout painless.

A great weekend in every respect, a beautiful room overlooking the water meadows, friendly polite staff, exceptionally good breakfasts and top quality well kept beers, and friends turning up out of the blue, views of Constables Landscapes nearby.
Holiday Inn Ipswich

Stay here on a regular basis with work and the location is great, 5 minutes from the A14 and 10 minutes from the town centre. Huge free carpark, but you need to log your registration at check in, speedy service at the reception with a great room which you would expect from Holiday Inn. The swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi are all now available. Restaurant is a reasonable size with a decent menu and they also have BT which shows football when it’s on,breakfast is self service with a great choice.
Novotel Ipswich Centre

I have lost count how many times i have stayed at the Novotel Ipswich over the past 2 years, but i had not been for 6 months. Nothing has changed, which is good as the hotel is very well located in Ipswich town centre for local pubs, restaurants and the nearby marina. The staff are very helpful and polite and the rooms are always of a high standard. My only gripe is the wi-fi is always hit and miss.
Best Western Brome Grange Hotel
3.7/551 Reviews
Hotel is right on the A140 main road, so access is sporty with the speed of the traffic, especially when leaving. Hotel is a motel style, with rooms set away from reception and the main road, but are spacious with all the standard equipment. Breakfast was a selection of continental and hot food in trays, with eggs cooked to order. As it was getting near the end of the service, coffee was lukewarm at best and it took a while to get the eggs. Didn’t eat in the restaurant or used any of the other facilities.
Swan Hotel & Spa

We stayed here for two nights for my wife’s birthday. We have been here several times before but the last time many years ago. Room was lovely. A heritage room in the wool Hall end of the hotel. Lovely size. Fully equipped with tea and coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. TV and desk. En-suite bathroom and shower and a built in wardrobe. Huge bed and a sofa and chair along with a coffee table. If you do stay here you are entitled to two hours a day free in the spa. If that’s your thing. We sat in the airman’s bar at lunch time on the first day. We hadn’t eaten so we had sandwiches as a light lunch. My wife had salmon with whipped cream cheese and I had a Ruben, both served with crisps and a side salad. All very nice. The barman Dave is a real find. Very good at his job and very knowledgeable. An excellent asset to the hotel. A real treat for us was honey roast chilli nuts on the bar. We ate far too many but they are very moreish. The only let down was the Gallery restaurant menu. Not a great selection of food. My wife didnt really fancy any of it and I wasn’t bowled over with enthusiasm so unfortunately we didn’t eat in there which was disappointing as we were looking forward to it. We had breakfast served in our room in the morning. There is an extra charge for this so be aware. Breakfast was wonderful. Fill in the menu at night, it’s picked up by the night shift and delivered at your chosen time. Food was really good. Full cooked English breakfast, cereals and juices. Tea and coffee, toast and preserves. All hot food was hot and all very fresh. Our stay was very relaxing and we really enjoyed the experience. The only down side was the restaurant menu. Sadly not our taste at all and we do eat out a lot so maybe a wider selection needed.

It was excellent. In the middle of a heatwave we had an extremely cool room which needed no fans. We are more than happy to have another break there
The Ickworth Hotel and Apartments - A Luxury Family Hotel
4.2/562 Reviews
The Ickworth gave us the ‘Ick’! It was such a disappointment, a real Halloween halfterm horror. This is the fourth FLH hotel we have visited and was definitely the poorest. Our first disappointment was being housed in an outhouse, a drive away from the main house. It was shabby and uncared for, right from the outside which didn’t inspire confidence. Both house and room had broken doors which didn’t start the stay well. The family room reminded me of student digs. They were nothing like the website. They were dirty, smelly and dated. No hot water on the first morning. Beds and windows were broken. Daily room service was terrible, no hoovering and dusting. By day 3 with of the four of us sharing it was gross but the in-house bugs liked it. Restaurant was chaotic, hot, poor and expensive. It is spread over three rooms so difficult to get any table service. Breakfast buffet was often empty and dimly lit so it was hard to see the food on offer. The staff were very young and untrained. Nothing arrived at the table together and we were always waiting 30-60mins for food. Windows were filthy and the one vase I saw of fresh foliage was full of dead leaves in dirty water. Chairs were faded and covered in food stains, as was the carpet. We stuck it out for half our stay then left. The senior management were very attentive when we complained. They seemed unsurprised and resigned to our comments about the poor state of the hotel. They said it is due a refurb soon but management needs a refresh too. Left feeling robbed, disappointed and sorry for all the families get to get through halfterm there. We were refunded some of our bill at least:(
