La Mon Hotel & Country Club

Cannot express how disappointed we were to find out what was being serviced at the cavery vs the price. The pictures conveyed on their website make it appear like it’s a huge buffet with so much time and effort put into it. The reality is the exact opposite. We didn’t touch the starters are it all looked horrible- no sign to show what the flavour was, nor the poor selection or meats and salads. The main meal was fine. Although roast potatoes (if you want to call them that) were soft on the outside and hard inside and soggy Yorkshire puddings. The coffee machine was broken and when speaking to a waiter for coffee they stated that will be after dessert, well no coffee arrived. If I was the lead booker if my party I would have spoken to a staff member about how disappointing the whole experience was. I would be embarrassed La Mon claim they are a 4* star hotel with the dated look of their dining room.
Strangford Arms Hotel

Stayed here one night for Business as it is close to the office I needed to go to. Check in and out was quick and efficient. The room as well as the rest of the hotel was nicely decorated and looks like it has recently been done. In the room itself was a large comfy bed, work desk and plenty of space for clothes. Bathroom spacious with a good shower over the bathtub and toiletries provided. Plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee in the room as well. Room was at the back so didn't hear a sound from the main road. Also had an opening window to let some fresh air in The room had reasonably fast and free wifi which is a godsend these days where all and sundry want to charge for it - they should realise its a necessary tool for the business traveller. Ate in the attached bistro. reasonable value for money and the starter was excellent but the main course was overdone for my taste. Bar prices reasonable but there's a Wetherspoons nearby as they don't do real ale (turn right out of the front door of the Bistro and walk for 200m) Breakfast room is not obvious as to where it is, but there was a good selection of cereals and full cooked breakfast to order which was of good quality unlike some I have had in hotels. All in all a good hotel and recommended if you don't need to be in the centre of Belfast but the morning traffic to get into the centre is horrendous - I'm glad I was not driving! Shall be there again next time I have to be in Belfast rather than stopping in the faceless chain hotels in the centre.
OYO Rayanne House Guest Accommodation

My son and his fiancé got Married last Thursday at Rayanne House and from start to finish the day was just perfect. Bernie and every member of staff were outstanding. The ceremony was outside and the space was beautifully decorated. The food and wine and cocktails just perfect and the bedrooms all different and so comfortable. Breakfast next morning once again was so good with loads of choice I would highly recommend.

Clandeboye Lodge Hotel
4.6/540 Reviews
We recently returned from our third visit to Clandeboye Lodge in the last twelve months. As with the previous times it was immensely enjoyable and relaxing. No other hotel we have stayed in has the same atmosphere of warmth and friendliness. All the staff - from Sarah, Claire and Maggie in reception to Ryan, Shana and others in the restaurant and bar - are exceptional. All needs and requests are catered for with genuine enthusiasm and concern for your well-being. The open plan lounge, restaurant and bar areas provide numerous corners for relaxing during the day and before and after meals. We have never seen this achieved to such good effect anywhere else. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and very quiet. The latter being something the Clandeboye pays great attention to. The food is also exceptional. We will write a separate review on this. Our love of Clandeboye is also shared by our extended family. So much so that we have a WhatsApp group called ‘We love the Clandeboye’ ! The Clandeboye’s byline is ‘A place apart’. This it most surely is! We look forward to our next visit!
