James was more than a wedding coordinator; he was a confidant, a guide, and a friend. He addressed every one of our concerns with patience and provided invaluable advice that helped us make the right choices. The staff, under James's leadership, was phenomenal. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care for our special day was unmatched. Every little detail, from the placement of decorations to the timing of events, was executed perfectly, making our day flow seamlessly. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was the best day of our lives. The culinary team outdid themselves with an exquisite menu that catered to a variety of dietary preferences. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted as wonderful as it looked. Many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever tasted. The accommodation at the Britannia Waterside Hotel was indeed very comfortable. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, and offered stunning views of the waterside. Waking and having breakfast with the view of the river Ugie as a newly married couple was a delightful experience that added to the magic of our wedding. In conclusion, our experience at the Britannia Waterside Hotel was truly extraordinary. We owe a large part of our perfect wedding day to James Forbes and the fantastic staff. We highly recommend the Britannia Waterside Hotel to anyone planning their wedding. It's not just a venue, but a place where dreams are brought to life.

Beautiful, quiet location in the trees with bird song. Ballater is a shirt walk or drive away with cute shops, cafes and restaurants. Nice rooms. Co-op (small grocery) is in ballater which you will need to stop by and get breakfast as no one opens earlier than 9am and the hotel has very expensive, ala carte items that are stingy and not good at all. If you want to get an early start you'll definitely need to get your own food as they don't offer the ala carte items until 8 and real food until 10. Dinner is expensive as well with 2 SLICES OF BREAD costing you £3.95 and water costing £4.95. Dinner was delicious however. Additionally there is no AC, the beds are very lumpy and there are many steps to get to your room. Location: 5 stars Everything else: 3 stars

First visit for us . 20mins wait for drinks.no steak available.potato skin starter was wrong, put back when returned they had only scraped the topping off and added the correct one and clearly reheated in a micro. One main meal didn’t arrive with others. A side of garlic bread came again heated in micro returned it and got replaced nearly after main course was finished. No Red Malbec Wine. No hurry to clear empty classes. Another table had been told that there was no pizza left! Also a table with young family when left there was food on floor and when it was set up for another 4 people the floor had not be swept. Asked to speak to the manager at end of night and he did not come near us! We had gone through to the public bar and the manager was going about there and he still did not approach us. Quality of the food was generally good but the above things I have mentioned let it down big time. Not sure if we will be back

The employees were kind. Location requirements are perfect. The beds are comfortable and give you a good night's sleep. I used it on a business trip, but the price was good.
