Ancient City of Kashgar
1. Location: In the west of the ancient city, very close to a gate of the ancient city. Then go out of this gate, cross the road, and walk a short distance to the right to reach Nuolan Hotel, a relatively good local restaurant with many locals. The hotel is decorated very distinctively and the service attitude is good. I ate roasted pigeon, lamb skewers, pepper chicken, strawberry milkshake, etc. I think the taste is quite good 😄. There is also an ancient city performance downstairs at 7 o'clock in the evening. 2. Room: The room is very clean, the bedding is comfortable, and I like the layout very much. The bed is against the window. When you open the window, you can see the ancient city street. The sun shines in and it is very warm. 3. The boss: very enthusiastic, and also invited us to eat the dates grown by ourselves, which are very delicious. There are also two cute cats. Our girl likes this homestay very much 😄, and is vying to write a review. Kashgar is a place worth visiting again. Next time, I will choose Qingfeng Yage

*Return Inn Review: A Hidden Gem in Kasgar's Ancient City (21-24 Nov 2024)* I discovered a true gem in Kasgar's ancient city – the Return Inn. My 5-night stay exceeded expectations, prompting me to extend my stay. Strategically located, the inn is merely 10km from the airport and easily accessible by taxi (approximately $30CNY) or ride-hailing apps like Didi (China's Uber/Grab equivalent). *Ideal Location* Situated just outside the ancient city entrance, Return Inn offers unparalleled convenience. Vehicles can park and drop off guests outside, whereas inner-city hotels may have restricted access. A short 1-minute walk leads you to the ancient city's entrance. *Comfortable Accommodations* My double-bed suite featured: - Clean and spacious room - Shower and toilet amenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shower gel, shampoo) - Hair dryer - Strong and warm hot shower - Warm basin water - Air conditioning (cool and warm) - TV and WiFi *Exceptional Service* The owner, a kind and helpful lady, made my stay truly memorable. She: - Shared valuable insights and recommendations - Provided guidance on local etiquette and customs - Assisted with navigating Kasgar's attractions *Surrounding Attractions* Explore: - Night street markets - Nearby shopping malls - Ancient city walls and architecture (refer to my photos) *Conclusion* Return Inn is an exceptional choice for those seeking comfort, convenience, and local expertise. I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem and look forward to returning. The staff's warm hospitality made me feel right at home.
Pomegranate Flower Homestay (Kashgar Ancient City Scenic Area)

Ancient City of Kashgar
This hotel is not perfect but overall I had an amazing stay. First, the woman on reception is very friendly and helpful. She let me check in early as I arrived from Urumqi at 8am. Thanks to her I was able to get a good sleep before I started exploring the old town. She even gave me yogurt and granola so I wouldn't have an empty stomach. Despite the language barrier, she was patient with me and was always willing to help. The location could not get any better. It's inside the ancient town so you can easily walk to shops, restaurants and cafes. Cars are not allowed in the ancient city but that wasn't a problem -the hotel is roughly a 5 minute walk from one of the entrances to the old town so it's very convenient to walk there to take a taxi, find a bus stop etc. The decor of the entire hotel is beautiful and fits in very well with the asthetic of the old town. I just wish the communal areas on the roof top was better maintained. It is starting to look a bit shabby. Overall I was happy with my room but there are some things I wasn't pleased about. First, apart from the tables on both sides of the bed, the other cabinets in the room were for show -they don't actually open, meaning there is very little storage space. Also, I like having a window I'm my room so I can feel less claustrophobic. I paid extra for a courtyard view. That's because I wanted to see the courtyard. However, I opened the curtain, and I found out that the windows are opaque. I opened the windows as far as I could without banging the TV, and there's a barrier over the windows. I understand they have these measures for privacy but in my opinions, curtains are enough. That definitely dampened my experience. Lastly, the walls are extremely thin, meaning almost every night I was woken up by other people making noise in the courtyard. Overall I am happy with my experience and I would book here again next time I visit Kashgar, but I would book a room with a city view instead for the reasons mentioned above.

This 4 star hotel has a goid rating on Trip.com and I can understand why. However, I liken this hotel to a 20 year old luxury car such as an E36 7 series BMW or Lexus LS 430. Exceptional and glorious when new, but getting old and tired fast. On a superficial level the rooms look grand and sumptuous, but on greater scrutiny there are issues. One if these are the carpets, which are either in dire need of steam cleaning on a forensic level of thoroughness, or outright replacement. Some sections are worn and faded, while many odd bits and pieces can be found (and felt with bare feet), that seem to have escaped the attention of the room staff, e.g toothpicks, other miscellaneous refuse deposited by previous guests. I booked a continental double room, for $68 AUD per night and there was a misalignment of the door with its frame. Large enough to see through to the outside! The room contained a sofa Comfortable enough but with fabric badly worn away. The white veneer paint on tables has seen better days. Having said all this, overall, the hotel offers rooms of a relatively high standard. Ornate furnishings, large, extremely comfortable beds and pillows, a huge bathroom with sufficient water pressure and responsive hot water on demand (bathroom has a smart lighting arrangement which switches on via a sensor). There are a dozen individual controls for room lighting. Lots of cupboards and drawers and powerpoints where needed. There is a gym but for some undisclosed reason is currently closed, of February 2024. Is a buffet style restaurant with several guests dining in it which looked very well staffed. Reception will go out of their way to give assistance with arranging tours, ordering taxis etc, and try to ensure guests are satisfied. In summary, the hotel looks good and to some extent is good, but may not be worth paying $50 US a night to stay in and was a little disappointing.

The hotel is in a good location, easy to find on the main road, with a parking lot, convenient parking. The room is spacious and has new facilities. The room is clean and sanitary. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, and the sink meets hotel standards. The bedding is also very good, and the sleep is very comfortable. The hotel has a washing machine for washing clothes, and the cost performance is very high. I stayed there for a few days while playing in Turpan. The Xinjiang girl at the hotel front desk was warm and polite, and the check-in experience was very good!

The hotel location is fine. The hotel staffs were nice. And the room is clean. Just when showering always found out that no matter how we close the door , water still leaked outside. Only stay here one night that was not a big deal.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express near Urumqi Railway Station and had a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and excellent customer service. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. The room I stayed in was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The comfortable bed and cozy atmosphere made for a relaxing and restful night's sleep. The hotel's soundproofing ensured a peaceful environment despite its proximity to the railway station. One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary breakfast offered at the hotel. The breakfast selection was diverse and delicious, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. It provided a great start to the day and helped me fuel up for my activities. The hotel's location near Urumqi Railway Station was incredibly convenient, especially for travelers like myself. It made it easy to explore the city or catch a train to further destinations. The surrounding area had a variety of dining options and shops, adding to the convenience of the location. Overall the check-in process was smooth and efficient including the tedious task of having to show health QR codes, having pictures taken of passport with China residence visa side by side with phone showing health code, then making copies of visa page, passport page, last China entry stamp page, etc etc. In spite of the time this whole process takes the staff knew what they were supposed to do and went about the process as quickly as possible. A small welcome gift was an unexpected surprise. Special word of thanks to Ms.爱森那赫 at the reception (not sure if this is her actual name). She was the only one who spoke English and was guiding her colleagues to check us in smoothly. She also gave us a good recommendation to try local cuisine for dinner at a restaurant which was a 5 min walk from the hotel. The only confusing bit is the fact that hotel reception is located on the 3rd floor. Our Didi drivers did not know how to get us there as the drive up to the 3rd floor was through a parking lot next to the hotel. The hotel should either post clear instructions on a sign board for taxi/Didi drivers to follow or they should have someone posted at the entrance to guide vehicular traffic up through the parking lot to the lobby for check in. But all in all a pleasant experience and we would not hesitate to stay here again should we plan another trip to the city.

Twin room, only one socket at the bedside, what to do for two people? ? Have you ever thought about it? The facilities are a bit old, but relatively complete. The breakfast is OK and rich. The surrounding area is relatively quiet. The heating is very warm, just wear short sleeves. It is convenient to eat around. It takes about 30 minutes to go to the airport.
Bafeng Retreat

Easily one of the top two or three guesthouse experiences I’ve had traveling China over the past decade. While it’s certainly on the higher end of the price spectrum, you definitely get what you pay for and more. The level of detail is immaculate: given how hot and dry Turpan is, they give you as much bottled water you need & leave hydrating facial masks in your room every day. Also, shoutout to the beds—one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on in China—and Japanese toilet. The facilitates and service touches are on par with the best luxury hotel brands which probably go for twice the price or more. But ultimately the people and location are what make this place special. Everyone from the owner to the cleaning staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I ran into the owner at a restaurant and he bought me dinner and introduced me to some local dishes I would have never known to order. The location is 🍇 valley. It’s a quaint little grape producing village with friendly locals and amazing fruit. All in all, Bafeng Retreat is a special place that is perfect if you’re looking for somewhere to unwind and take life slowly. Highly recommended.
