This hotel definitely deserves five stars. The rooms are spacious and well-arranged. All the amenities, including the kettle, coffee machine, and even the toiletries, are from well-known brands. The room also features AI voice service, which is very convenient and practical. The entire hotel is exquisitely decorated, with large and luxurious elevators. The hotel isn't far from the ancient city, and there's a Wanda Plaza about 1 kilometer away, making shopping and dining very convenient. The breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious options; it was quite busy during my holiday stay, with most tables full. I booked late and the hotel was fully booked, so I had to wait until the second day to get an available room. It's a highly recommended hotel, and I've already recommended it to many friends.

“Ji Xia Shan” (literally, “Below the Mountain”) is tucked away in a quiet corner of Datong's ancient city. Push open the courtyard gate, and the hustle and bustle instantly fade away. Green bricks, wooden structures, plain walls – colors are minimized, and tranquility is maximized. As night falls, another layer of light illuminates the courtyard. A fire-dancing artist moves with a 'fire pot,' a flick of their arms sending golden streams of fire streaking through the silent night. Sparks scatter between the eaves and the green bricks, flickering on and off like the unextinguished heartbeat of the sleeping ancient city. Silence and passion arrive simultaneously in this single courtyard. The room's window is understated. It doesn't rush to display a panoramic view; instead, it draws your eye to the layered rooftops, resembling distant mountains. And at this moment, through the window, the fire's reflection dances on the tea ceremony table. Ji Xia Shan doesn't create scenery. It simply filters out the noise for you, leaving behind the ancient city's true essence – and your true self. Checking in here is truly arriving.

This hotel is located in the heart of Taiyuan city, making it very convenient to walk to the Bell and Drum Towers, Food Street, and Liuxiang South Road Commercial Street. Check-in was super quick, and the front desk staff even proactively upgraded me to a lake-view king room. The bellhop was very polite, offering to carry my luggage and escort me to my room. Inside the room, I found a thoughtful note from the housekeeper, who also provided fruit and a late-night snack. The room layout was well-designed, and all towels and bath towels were sealed in paper bags, clearly marked 'sanitized.' I had a very quiet night's sleep; the soundproofing was excellent. The breakfast buffet was quite rich, and I personally found it very much to my taste. The hotel's dining options are also great; I enjoyed the串串 (Chuan Chuan) mini hotpot on the outdoor terrace, which was fantastic. This is a high-quality hotel that I'd definitely recommend and would love to revisit!

Huge thanks to Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan! As a first-time visitor to Taiyuan, I was incredibly impressed. Not only was the service warm and attentive, but they also kindly upgraded me to an Executive Suite for free, which truly exceeded my expectations. My Black Diamond membership benefits were fully recognized and respected. The front desk was quick to respond and communicated smoothly, making the whole experience feel very welcoming. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Taiyuan and highly recommend it to all my friends!

The bedding was comfortable and the room design was reasonable, but the room had a noticeable smell of new renovations, and the facilities were generally unacceptable. Despite being advertised as a hotel built in 2025, the toilet sliding door was difficult to open, the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, the TV signal was poor and frequently froze and could not be projected, and the air conditioner made strange noises. It was simply impossible to associate this with the quality of a five-star hotel.

Datong Hotel, once a state guesthouse in Datong, has a distinguished history of hosting foreign dignitaries, including visits from premiers and, more recently, a Thai princess and her entourage. This long-standing tradition of high-level hospitality has cultivated an exceptionally refined service standard. The hotel lobby is grand and elegant, and the rooms are spotless and well-maintained. Breakfast offers a wide variety of choices, and the service is excellent.

My stay at Futiandahua Rain Hot Spring Hotel was absolutely fantastic! First off, the location is superb, right inside the ancient city. It's super close to where they do the iron flower show, which, by the way, is an absolute must-see. I'm getting on in years, but watching that show brought tears to my eyes; I was so moved by the performers' dedication and the incredible spectacle they put on. It's clear the hotel owner pays incredible attention to detail. My two girlfriends and I stayed in a triple room, and from the moment we walked into the lobby, we were gushing over the hotel's ambiance, the staff, and the room's decor. Every little detail was thoughtfully done. Even when we were heading out to explore the ancient city, the front desk proactively offered us a pack of tissues to take with us. The room itself was a standalone unit, so it was incredibly quiet. They delivered coffee and afternoon tea daily, and the fruit plate in the room was fresh. There was also a cooler in the lobby with bottled water available for guests. The whole room was smart-enabled with XiaoDu (a smart assistant), and the shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable, with a separate wet and dry area. Oh, one small thing: the trash can in the bathroom was a bit too small; I hope they can improve that. The private hot spring was amazing. After a full day of sightseeing, coming back to soak in the hot spring and chat was just pure bliss.

This is the first time in my life I've been so angry at a hotel that I was shaking. And it wasn't a guesthouse or a budget hotel, but the Marriott, a five-star hotel in a resort area. Since the most convenient way to get from Beijing to Mount Wutai is by overnight train, I was extremely tired when I arrived at the hotel at 6 AM. When I tried to communicate about early check-in and breakfast, the front desk staff kept arguing with me. Issue 1: **Can Diamond Elite members check in 4 hours early? Answer: No, the earliest is 10 AM, even then. Checking in earlier than that requires an extra charge. But then she said there were no clean rooms available, which contradicts what she just said! And did I ever say I wasn't willing to pay extra? I was just very tired and wanted to rest, is that not allowed? Issue 2: **Do Diamond Elite members get free breakfast? Can I have it now? Answer: No, if you check in today, you can only have it tomorrow. I pressed further, but she ignored me and kept typing. I thought she was consulting with a superior, but after a minute, I realized she just didn't want to deal with me and was giving me the cold shoulder. She never looked at any of my information, nor did she provide any guidance, as if I owed her something. Even if my requests couldn't be met, I would accept it; I was just trying. But can someone with such an attitude really work at a front desk? Later, when I said I would complain about her, she took off her name tag and told me to take a picture, her expression clearly saying, 'Go ahead and complain, I don't care.' However, I must commend the restaurant staff and the front desk staff who handled my check-in later; their attitude was excellent. But I still feel very upset, and my vacation mood was completely ruined. This is also the first time in my life I've given a hotel a bad review.

The hotel's breakfast was plentiful, and the interior design and decor were excellent. The complimentary bathhouse tickets allowed my family to shower separately, so we didn't have to wait for each other. The main advantage is the excellent soundproofing in the rooms; during the Dragon Boat Festival, I barely heard any sounds like doors closing from other rooms. Overall, it's great value for money and a very comfortable stay. I'll definitely come back. Just a small suggestion: popular attractions like the Yungang Grottoes open at 7 AM during peak season. If breakfast could start at 6:30 AM during peak season, it would be much more convenient for guests to get an early start.

AAichiroudejunjunI saw a lot of people complaining that Datong hotels couldn't keep up with the service, so I didn't have high expectations. Surprisingly, I found the service to be excellent. There was a genuine, rustic desire to be good to tourists, sometimes a bit overzealous and awkward, but incredibly sincere and charming. Overall, my stay was fantastic, and it offered great value for money. The little details in the room were well done. Toiletries were provided at both the sink and in the shower. Important tips and services were clearly written and prominently displayed in the room. This is the first hotel I've seen that even offers to change to a firmer mattress! The fresh fruit and vegetables delivered daily were so fresh that I felt bad for not eating them and ended up forcing myself to eat two pieces of fruit. You absolutely *must* try the pear soup the hotel delivers in the evenings. On the first night, I was a bit skeptical, thinking, 'Who drinks something so sweet late at night? Why pear soup?' But on the second morning, when I got a nosebleed, I immediately understood... I promptly asked for a bottle and chugged it down; the effect was instant. The hotel's large floor-to-ceiling windows offered a great view, with the ancient city and Drum Tower visible right opposite. If I had to point out any areas for improvement, it would be the lack of a small shelf near the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom, so there's nowhere to put your phone, which is a bit inconvenient. Also, the air conditioning was very noisy and seemed to stop cooling in the middle of the night. It got to the point where I'd wake up in the late hours and have to turn it off because it was just making noise, which was quite annoying.

CCD183.6Although it is an old hotel, the service attitude is still very comfortable. Ms. Cairong at the front desk helped me deliver my luggage to the room. The dining environment is very clean and hygienic, and the dishes are plentiful... The waiter Guo Defeng has been warmly asking what to drink, and he also helped to bring fruits. The chef Han Maorong is also a super funny girl, telling me that there are freshly cooked noodles, wontons, fried eggs, etc. , The variety is quite complete~ The hotel as a whole makes me feel very comfortable and awesome!

LLiuMKThe hot spring hotel has been awesome. The room is very big, super clean and bright enough in areas like the bathroom. It is warm enough even in winter due to the underfloor heating,, so I have to turn off the room air con heating. The hotel front desk team is even more awesome. They are always ready to help with all kinds of queries and needs. When we were leaving, they even gave us a bottle of local vinegar as a gift. The hot spring is not located inside the hotel like the Japanese onsen. It is a couple of hundred meters away, but the hotel provided an electric buggy to ferry you to and fro. The hot spring area itself has a changing room, where you can out on the bathrobe before you step out in the open and into the hot spring. So even in winter, it is still manageable and you should not catch a cold. Some regular hot spring users even put on their down feather jacket over the bathrobe, and that surely is more effective. There are even security personnel at the hot spring to make sure there is help if you get into difficulties. Breakfast is also good. The hotel also uses the buggy to fetch you to a posh looking restaurant in the hotel vicinity. Food is good, and not too expensive. There is also a small retail outlet next to the restaurant. The prices there are very reasonable.

AAnonymous UserI stayed at Wutong Apartment Hotel for a business trip, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and cozy, and the facilities were well-equipped. The cleaning staff were also very welcoming. What's particularly worth recommending is their breakfast, which truly lives up to its reputation as a 'breakfast ceiling' online. Having traveled to many cities, I can confidently say their breakfast surpasses the standards of five-star hotels in first-tier cities. The quality of the steak and salmon, as well as the cooking, were excellent. Various Chinese stir-fries tasted as good as those ordered à la carte in restaurants, and there was a wide array of local delicacies. The lamb soup with aged tofu was a perfect combination. And the desserts, oh the desserts, were outstanding! The ingredients were high-quality, and both their appearance and taste were superb – highly recommended. The only minor drawback was the average service. The rather short restaurant manager had an incredibly loud voice, like a lady shouting in a wet market, constantly directing staff loudly, which unfortunately lowered the hotel's overall ambiance. Despite that, it's still highly recommended overall!

CCaihuaxiaomeiLet me talk about the pros. The breakfast was quite plentiful and tasty, 68 yuan per person. Our child, being 15, paid an extra 40 yuan. We booked three rooms together. The rooms were decent for a five-star hotel, and the lobby was beautiful. Now for areas for improvement. Aside from the good security guard at the entrance, the service could be better. Since it's a hot spring hotel, the hot spring itself is important, but it was rather mediocre. Of the 12 pools, some were 58 degrees Celsius, some 48 degrees, and only a few were usable and small. Also, because so many people were crammed into a few pools, they became quite dirty. All three families stayed for an hour before leaving. There were too many access control points. For a hotel in such a remote area, I don't understand why there were so many access control points and card swiping systems; it was very inconvenient. I didn't intend to give a low score because the front desk gave us a complimentary breakfast, which was a concession.
