"Because the king room I originally booked was full, the hotel upgraded me directly to a private hot spring room, which was fantastic. The private hot spring room is on the first floor, and the private hot spring is in a small garden outside the room. There's also a roof over the hot spring, so you can enjoy the starry sky without worrying about rain. Parking at the hotel is also very convenient, with plenty of spaces nearby, and it's free for guests."

"This time we were on a family trip, but I feel the hotel is more suited for business travelers. **Facilities:** It's a five-star hotel, decent, not super new but not old either. Breakfast had a good variety. **Hygiene:** Also decent, quite clean. **Environment:** There's a constant fragrance throughout the hotel that I wasn't too fond of, but overall it was okay. It's quite close to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the Bund, which is great for an evening stroll. **Service:** I had originally requested a late check-out until 2 PM upon arrival, but the front desk seemed to have forgotten about it. However, a staff member called to confirm, and I re-explained, so the late check-out was granted."

"Located in a prime downtown spot, it's convenient for getting anywhere. Downstairs is very lively with restaurants, a food street, and a shopping complex all in one. During weekdays in summer, there were many foreign guests... and quite a few elderly Chinese too. The front desk often had queues for check-in, and there were always people waiting for taxis outside. Business was really good, yet the room offered excellent value for money! Thanks for the free upgrade to a deluxe suite~ It was newly renovated. I was on a business trip and decided to bring my mom along so she could relax and enjoy herself. **Facilities** They offer a table tennis room, a swimming pool, and a gym. No robots for food delivery pick-up though. **Hygiene** Clean. **Environment** The overall environment is good. The old five-star hotel is very well maintained; it doesn't feel old or dated. The room was newly renovated, but the sense of space wasn't huge, and the bathroom was a bit small. **Service** The service attitude was excellent and professional."

"Excellent value for money, truly unmatched among five-star hotels. Due to the rainy season, there was a persistent musty smell in the room, so I requested to change rooms twice. I eventually gave up and just got used to it. The hotel staff were incredibly patient and helpful in assisting me with the issue, which deserves commendation. The room size was very generous, especially after the complimentary upgrade. The location is fantastic, directly opposite Raffles City, and the Capitol Theatre is just a 5-minute walk away."

"This B&B is about a 15-minute drive from Disneyland and even offers free shuttle service, which made getting around super easy and stress-free! The room was clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. The hostess was incredibly kind and thoughtful; she even upgraded our room for free, which was such a pleasant surprise! The two adopted dogs at the B&B, Shuangxi and Midou, were so gentle and well-behaved. You could tell the owner is very caring. My kids absolutely adored them and were sad to leave. The breakfast was also very generous, giving us plenty of energy to enjoy Disneyland – it was the perfect start to our day! Overall, the experience really exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely choose this place again next time we visit Disneyland! ⚠️ A friendly tip: The tour information shared during the shuttle ride is just for listening; decide whether to purchase guided services based on your needs. Taxis at the Disneyland entrance tend to be overpriced, so it's more economical to book a ride-sharing service instead."

"We booked this eco-friendly hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very conveniently located: there's a metro station nearby, as well as two shopping centres. The hotel is large, but there was quiet and peaceful. The view from the window was beautiful, even despite the typhoon that was hitting Shanghai these days (our room was on the 12th floor. We chose the hotel because of its location and good breakfasts. The breakfasts were really very delicious and tasty. There was both Chinese and European food. A wide selection of fruits: watermelons, melons, apricots, mangoes, bananas, dragon fruit. There were many different pastries, several types of yogurts, even matcha yogurt. Also, at the exit from the restaurant, there was a Candy Bar with chewy marmalade: you can put the marmalade in a small bag. The room had everything, including a capsule coffee machine, an ironing board, and an iron, which is very convenient. l'd especially like to mention the eco-friendly slippers, which really stand out from the slippers in other hotels: they're very comfortable. The staff was polite and quickly resolved any issues that arise."

We had such an amazing experience at this Disney hotel, and I truly feel like this property deserves every bit of praise. My husband, our 6 kids, and I traveled all the way from Orlando, Florida in America, and after such a big trip, staying somewhere this welcoming, clean, and well-run meant so much to us. From the moment we arrived, the staff made such a strong impression on me. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, patient, and genuinely helpful. It did not feel fake or forced at all, it felt like they truly cared about making sure our stay was comfortable and special. One thing I really want to mention is that even with us traveling from America, the language barrier was honestly not hard at all when dealing with the staff. That was something I truly appreciated. Everyone was so kind, so patient, and so willing to help that communication never felt stressful. They made everything feel easy and comfortable, and that meant a lot, especially traveling with a big family and small children. No matter what we needed, they did their best to help us understand and made sure we felt taken care of. That level of effort, patience, and kindness goes a very long way, and they really made us feel welcome. The staff went above and beyond in so many little ways, and those things really added up. Any time I had a question, needed help, or wasn’t sure about something, someone was there with a smile, ready to help without hesitation. That kind of service stands out, especially when you are traveling with family, and it made such a huge difference for us. They were not just “nice” .They were the kind of staff that makes you stop and think, wow, these people really care. You can feel when people are just doing a job, and you can also feel when people are truly making an effort to give guests a great experience. This staff absolutely did that. Now let me talk about the cleanliness, because honestly this is one of the cleanest hotel properties and rooms I have ever seen in my life. I do not say that lightly. The moment we walked in, everything looked absolutely spotless. Not just tidy, not just “good enough,” but truly immaculate. The room looked fresh, polished, and cared for in a way that is hard to explain unless you see it for yourself. Every surface looked pristine. The floors were clean, the bathroom was shining, the bedding felt fresh and perfectly maintained, and the entire room gave that rare feeling of being deeply, properly cleaned. There was not that uneasy hotel feeling some places have where you start wondering what has or has not really been cleaned. This place felt the complete opposite. It felt sanitized, refreshed, and cared for to the highest standard. The room was so clean that it immediately made us feel comfortable enough to fully relax. When you are staying with children, cleanliness matters even more, and this hotel absolutely exceeded expectations. I noticed the details, and the details matter. The bathroom was spotless, the beds looked crisp and fresh, the furniture was clean, the floors looked amazing, and the whole room felt like it had been cleaned with real care and pride. Even beyond the room itself, the entire property was unbelievably clean. That is what impressed me so much. Usually a hotel might have a nice room, but the hallways, common areas, elevators, or grounds do not always match that same level of care. Here, the cleanliness was consistent everywhere. The entire property was beautifully maintained, and you could clearly tell that cleanliness is taken seriously at every level. Everything looked so well-kept, so polished, and so intentionally maintained that it honestly made the whole stay feel even more luxurious and relaxing. It is such a good feeling to be able to fully settle in and enjoy your stay without noticing dirt, neglect, or things being overlooked. This hotel gave us that peace of mind completely. You can tell there is real effort behind the scenes to keep ever

Stepping into the room, I was immediately greeted by the towering 'Huangpu River Four-Piece Set' (referring to the iconic skyscrapers) outside the window. Sitting on the sofa, the Huangpu River unfolded before me like a dynamic scroll painting. The bedding was incredibly soft and delicate; I instinctively wrapped myself tightly in the duvet. The Aesop pine-scented amenities were elegant and long-lasting, perfectly matching the Waldorf's style. The walk-in closet was well-designed and practical. I had bought some 'Ice Beauty,' 'Goddess,' 'Pink Iron Cannon,' and 'Orange Dream' flowers, and was using the room's trash can as a makeshift vase. The thoughtful Nini noticed and kindly replaced it with a beautiful glass vase. 👍 Aaron and Katrina provided meticulous and attentive service. It was a great 4-day experience. I'll definitely be back.

Summary: The worst service I've ever encountered in a hotel of this caliber. I stayed for 2 days. On the first night when I checked in, I noticed there was no doorman at the hotel entrance to open car doors or help with luggage. I asked the front desk if no one was on duty at night. The manager, who had a great attitude, said someone might have been out delivering something, and that it was quieter at night but they would improve. (He had a very good attitude and offered me breakfast, though I didn't eat it as I don't usually have breakfast). Then I asked the front desk for a latex pillow. I waited for half an hour upstairs, but it wasn't delivered. When I called, they said they forgot. Next, while looking for a charging port by the bed, I knocked over a glass and got really annoyed as to why the glass was placed by the bedside late at night (this was my fault, as I was quite angry at the time). The manager, with a great attitude, came to help clean it up, and I even went to the front desk the next day to apologize. Second day: I left my earphones, cigarettes, and lighter in the car. I messaged the driver to arrange for the concierge to bring them up. They were never brought up until the next day when I was checking out to go to the airport. I asked the driver why they hadn't been brought up, and the driver said he had given them to the concierge last night. I went to ask: the concierge said they forgot to deliver them. By the way: when I returned to the hotel on the second night, I still noticed there was no doorman or security. Car doors and luggage were unattended. I really don't know! What exactly is the concierge at this hotel doing! What are they responsible for!!! Facilities: The facilities are very good, the rooms are large, and the walk-in closet is excellent. I usually try out the pool and gym at every hotel, but I wasn't in the mood this time. I won't be coming back.

Our staycation was fantastic! 👍 I contacted the hotel in advance to arrange a bed rail and bottle sterilizer. Elio at the front desk was super nice ❤️. The pool experience was amazing, with a 0.5m children's pool equipped with water play facilities, and a 0.9m massage pool that even our baby could enjoy. The lifeguards were incredibly attentive, constantly keeping an eye on every family. When we left our swim ring in the room, one of them immediately gave our baby a floating board. The gym is full-sized, and I saw many group classes I'd love to try next time. The kids' play area is huge; our 18-month-old had a blast climbing around. Hotel guests get 24-hour access, covering two days. The hotel food is also suitable for small children, so no need to bring your own baby food! Plus, it's connected to Kerry Parkside, so you can buy anything you need on the spot. My husband said he wants to come for a staycation twice a month now!

Choosing the right accommodation truly elevated our Disney experience! The hotel's location is superb, making dining, entertainment, and transportation incredibly convenient. The room hygiene was impeccable; it was so clean and tidy that we felt completely relaxed. The front desk staff were attentive and reliable, making check-in a breeze, and they were proactive in resolving any requests we had. The complimentary shuttle service to and from Disneyland was a thoughtful touch, making transport hassle-free. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the toiletries were high-quality, offering a great user experience. We also enjoyed the free massage chairs in the lobby, along with freshly ground coffee and daily brewed plum juice available at all times. On a night we returned late from the park, our clothes hadn't dried, and a staff member thoughtfully offered to dry and fold them for us. This level of detailed service truly made our stay exceptionally comfortable.

am writing to file a formal complaint about my stay at the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai. The experience was absolutely unacceptable: · The plumbing was a disaster — the toilet wouldn't flush properly. · The water temperature in the shower was completely unadjustable. I spent 15 minutes twisting the tap all the way to cold, but the water never changed temperature — it stayed scalding hot the entire time. · No basic sofa or settee in the room — nowhere to sit or lie down except the bed. And this wasn't a standard room — this was a suite. · The appliances and furniture look at least 20 years old, with visible signs of wear and tear everywhere. · I left my phone to charge overnight — I specifically checked that the charger was working before going to bed. Woke up in the morning to find my phone hadn't charged at all. The power outlets work intermittently at best. · The Wi-Fi was terrible — slow and with extremely low data throughput. It kept buffering and disconnecting, making it impossible to get any work done or even browse normally. · No razor provided in the bathroom. · The hairdryer had no attachments — not a single nozzle or diffuser. And to make things even worse, there wasn't a single power outlet in the bathroom. So in a 5-star hotel, I had to dry my hair next to the bed, with no mirror nearby. Absolutely ridiculous. · The breakfast was very mediocre — just a plain omelet with bacon, and they still managed to ruin it. To top it all off, I decided to order room service. The delivery driver dropped off my food at the reception desk at 10:20 PM and sent me a photo as proof. Do you know how long I had to wait for someone to bring it up to my room? 40 minutes. I went down to the front desk twice to ask about my order, and no one even apologized. We're in the 21st century — most hotels have delivery robots that bring food to your door in 5 minutes. Here, I paid three or four times as much and received this level of service. It's simply insulting. I have already canceled my second night and am checking out early. For this kind of money and with this kind of service, this stay was a complete disgrace. I expect a substantial refund for the night I actually spent here.

Banyan Tree Shanghai On The Bund

I chose this hotel because it was recommended by Ctrip as the number one hotel for room views. I often stay at Banyan Tree hotels when I'm vacationing abroad. However, the Banyan Tree Shanghai was quite a disappointment. First, I'm not sure how it topped Ctrip's list. There are many hotels with better views at the same price point. The standard rooms here only offer a view of the river. If you're going for a deluxe room, there are definitely better hotels to choose from. I arrived at the hotel around 9 PM, and the ambient lighting was very dim, which gave a poor first impression. During check-in, it was the first time a five-star hotel tried to upsell me a room upgrade. It felt like I was at an all-season hotel being pushed to sign up for a membership card. I mentioned that it was my birthday the next day and asked if the hotel could provide some decorations. The response was that I'd need to inform the front desk again tomorrow for the decoration service. Why do I need to inform them twice? Most hotels offer concierge services nowadays, but Banyan Tree requires me to go to the front desk again the next day for decorations. This really shows a lack of service awareness. Ctrip automatically offers room upgrades, and since it was my birthday, I rarely encounter situations where an upgrade isn't given. When I asked why I couldn't be upgraded, they said there were no rooms available. However, I checked the room availability and saw there were. When I asked again, they replied it depends on the situation and couldn't be arranged at that moment. Upon reaching my room, I ordered takeout, only to find that it could only be delivered to the entrance. I then had to call the front desk to confirm my order before staff would bring it up, which was very inconvenient. After opening the window, the view was actually mediocre – half river view, half of the offices in the opposite securities building (clearly visible). It was a far cry from the advertised scenic views. I wanted to upgrade my room and asked a staff member to show me around. After the tour, I was told there were no rooms available. I went to the hotel pool and found it to be an underground children's pool, also selling ** fitness packages. The pool walls were old and moldy. I really wouldn't recommend it. On the positive side: The staff member who showed me the upgraded room, the restaurant staff, the bellboy, and the rooftop bar staff were all very pleasant and provided genuine service. The hotel breakfast was excellent, plentiful, and delicious, and served until 12 PM. Check-out time could be arranged flexibly. Ignoring the view with the window closed, the room space arrangement was very good. In summary: It's an older five-star hotel, half of which feels outdated and the upselling felt a bit 'low-rent.' The other half still maintains the standards of a high-end hotel. Overall, the value for money is low, and the comfort level is also low.
