"Arrived to a sign in reception “back at 8pm” we had to wait half an hour (24 hour reception) so after a long flight this was not good. Reception area also smelt of smoke. No lift to the second floor so an issue if you have heavy luggage. Hotel was noisy at night with people in the courtyard area very late into the night. Pool looked unmaintained and dirty. Also WiFi only worked in reception. On the plus side the hotel is in a good location and the rooms were clean and spacious and had clean bedding and towels."

Reception Hours: 6.00am - 8.00pm An oasis in the outback, the Desert Palms Alice Springs is a 3.5 star outback property offering individual studio villa accommodation, set around a crystal clear free-form pool with island, waterfall and surrounded by tropical gardens. All villas are air-conditioned and include bougainvillea-covered verandahs, private en suites and kitchenette facilities. The hotel offers outstanding value for the visitor wanting comfort at an affordable price. We're located in the main accommodation centre of Alice Springs on the banks of the Todd River, close to town, Lasseters Casino - Alice Springs entertainment hot spot, the Convention Centre and the Alice Springs Golf Club is our backyard. Some of the best restaurants in Alice Springs are within meters of the Desert Palms. These include the Golf Course Club House, Hanumans (Indian/Thai), The Deck Eatery & Bar at the Double Tree by Hilton and four restaurants at Lasseters Casino including the Juicy Rump. We offer a small kiosk/shop on-site where food items and liquor can be purchased along with a Espresso Coffee Machine. There is a guest laundry, BBQ area, secure gated off street parking directly outside each villa and FREE Wifi in rooms and throughout the property. Desert Palms Alice Springs offers a calm, peaceful environment, which creates a sense of relief for the weary traveller. After a hectic day of travelling by road or air take pleasure in watching the world go by on the privacy of your own private balcony surrounded by palm trees while watching the spectacular sunsets over the MacDonald Ranges.

"Very convenient location just a short walk into Alice Springs town. I walked to Anzac Hill Lookout. Olive Pink Botanic Garden is about a 5-minute walk away. It was also easy to drive to Larapinta Drive and the routes to the gorges and waterholes of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Handy to restaurants in the immediate area. I would highly recommend Tali in the Lassetters Casino complex. I stayed 4 nights before heading to Uluru area and another night on my return. Unfortunately, both rooms were not clean. In fact, the crumpled pillows suggested the pillow cases had not been changed. In the first room, there were ***** hairs in the sheets and the kitchen and bathroom surfaces were also not properly cleaned. In the second room, which smellt strongly of disinfectant, while the sheets and pillow cases appeared freshly changed, the duvet/bedspread/quilt had evidently not been washed/cleaned for a while and many hairs fell out of it onto the sheets when it was folded back. Yuck! The rooms could do with refurbishing. I found it a bot odd that despite the many signs advising guests to lock doors and hide valuables - and that the hotel could not be responsible for thefts - the outside sliding screen door of each unit could not be locked from the outside (I confirmed this with reception). If you can overlook the cleanliness issues, this hotel is a convenient base to explore Alice Springs and the West Macs."

"I had a great stay at this hotel in Darwin. The property is very welcoming, and the room I stayed in was particularly large and spacious, perfect for both short and long stays. It features a small balcony, which is great for getting some fresh air and relaxing, as well as a fridge, kettle, and a practical kitchenette with cupboards, which is very handy if you want to be self-sufficient. The continental breakfast is included and offers a good variety. Plus, you can request a full English breakfast if you prefer something more substantial. Another definite plus is the staff, who were always very friendly, helpful, and attentive to guests' needs, making the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel's location is convenient: you can reach Darwin Waterfront, one of the city's most beautiful and lively areas, in about a 15-minute walk. It's perfect for a stroll, a meal, or relaxing by the sea. There's also a large supermarket nearby, which is very useful for buying groceries or other items during your stay. Overall, I highly recommend this accommodation for its good balance of comfort, amenities, and location."

At Outback Lodge, every guestroom is provided with convenient amenities and fittings to ensure a comfortable stay.Certain rooms boast in-room amusement features such as television and cable TV, offering guests an enjoyable stay.In select rooms at the hotel, a coffee or tea maker is available for those moments when it seems necessary.Essential restroom facilities are equally significant, and at the hotel, some visitor bathrooms offer a hair dryer to enhance your experience.

"While the facilities aren't new, the cleanliness was impeccable, and I appreciated having a separate toilet and shower. The only amenity provided was hand soap, so I brought everything else I needed. With a restaurant and a KIOSK on-site, finding good food was never an issue. You can also use the cooking space to self-cater if you bring your own ingredients and equipment; I saw many guests who had driven there doing just that. And above all, the observation deck here is uncrowded and highly recommended! We didn't have great weather during our optional tour and missed the sunrise, so the next day we woke up early, went to this observation deck, and were rewarded with a beautiful blue sky view of Uluru. Since Uluru trips primarily involve sunrise/sunset tours and trekking, and you won't be spending much time in your room, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to save on accommodation costs.🤗"

"The check in experience was not good. Room was fully paid for but had to provide credit card even though I don't have one. Desk clerk made it quite clear that any damage would need to be paid for. why, because I am Aboriginal (he did not say this but it was clear in his attitude). He also mentioned about guests. for a company that makes a substantial amount of money from the Aboriginal community it is sad that you have prejudiced people welcoming guests."

Was expecting more given the price we paid, apparently already considered low season. The pool lagoon was disappointing and expected higher standards, more staff and cleanliness. Hotel restaurant food expensive unless gambling and apparently would have great discount. Room service was good and value for money. Expected small amenities like free bottled water to be more generous given the heat. Apparently just 2 bottles per check in although we stayed 2 nights . Bathroom and toiletries reasonable although bathroom door had a drum which made it inconvenient to open as door swung closed automatically ..

The room was spacious and reasonably clean. The entire resort is a small area built in the middle of the desert, so you can't expect a super 5-star experience, but it has everything you need and the facilities are complete. I'd say it's on par with some four-star hotels in China. It's inevitable to have some small insects in this kind of location, fewer in winter, but I did find a bee in the room and successfully fought it off, which is a normal occurrence. The service was good, with a 24-hour front desk, and they were very helpful and attentive in answering all sorts of questions. The two best restaurants in the resort are located within Desert Garden, so the biggest advantage of staying here is the convenience for dining.

Perfect hotel location for our needs since it is very close to the airport and the Marrara sport complex (10-15 min walk) in which our event took place. What we love most: very clean hotel room, convenient park ing spot right in front of our unit at an extra cost, great pool facility and some restaurant and coffee shop option on site. The room we booked was really spacious. We had a very pleasant stay.
