Motel 6 Denver, CO – Downtown

I booked a week at the Motel 6 on Federal Boulevard. The room was clean and I got basically everything that I had signed up for. It was awesome that the room was cheap and they didn't require a deposit. It was also great that the location was close to everything one would need. There are tons of places to eat within a block or two and a 24 hour gas station with a store that has anything one would require on the road, If you want a sandwich or a fresh pair of socks at 4 a.m you have to walk 3 minutes to get it. Here is the real thing. On my second to last night I became extremely ill and had to call an ambulance. I was picked up by the ambulance without having the chance to pack any of my stuff up or to clean my room at all, which I normally do before I leave a Hotel. As it turned out my situation was serious and I had to have surgery right away due to a rip in my femoral artery that I got from a fall several days earlier. I wasnt able to call the Motel at all and my room was booked for 2 more days only, yet I was in the Hospital for 5 days. Upon leaving I went back to the Motel thinking that I would never see my stuff again. I went into the main office and spoke to Kristen. Within moments she had my bag for me. All of my clothes were folded nicely and my expensive headphones, phone chargers, computer, etc. were all in my bag waiting for me. She handed it over with a smile and I wasn't charged a dollar for them having to put it all together fopr me. I couldn't imagine this happening anywhere else at all!!!! I would say that if you are on a budget and staying in the area that you would be wise to stay at the Motel 6. Kristen is absolutely fantastic and the new General Manager is always available to answer any questions for you and to help you out. They even called security to come patrol the Motel the first night that I waas there because I was worried about a group of men walking around who didn't seem to belong. 10 minutes after my complaint they were gone and I felt safe for the remainder of my stay. For less than 60 dollars a night you will not get better than this Motel 6!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!!!! Very happy with every aspect of my stay. If I am ever back in Denver this is where I will be staying!!!! Chris H.

Cool hotel, but I think a little over priced. For what ended up being about a $500 per night cost I think the hotel is a bit more expensive than it should be. I'm happy to pay up for a more supreme experience, but in the end I thought was a little too expensive for what it was. We chose a Mountain View room and were glad we did that. We had a nice view for the two days we were there. The room was very spacious. Bed was good, but not super comfortable. Bathroom was large and very nice. We both made the comment that the hallways were wide and bright. Very nice. The employees at the desk and the 4th floor terrace were very nice and friendly. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 review was the value of the cost. Again, I'm happy to pay up for a hotel, but it seemed kind of ordinary for the cost. Could maybe spend $300 a night nearby for the same type of room.

We were a couple and stayed for 2 nights. It was the least enjoyable hotel experience in quite some time. Positives - 1. Bathroom in room was clean and decent sized. 2. A shuttle to Red Rocks leaves from the lobby of the hotel. Convenient location for that purpose. Negatives - 1. Entire 1st floor lobby and restaurant smelled like sewage the entire time. Worst consistent hotel odor we have ever experienced. 2. We booked a king bed. They gave us a queen. ”We are sold out of king beds”. Asked for reduced rate or other compensation. Was told ”nope”. 3. Wifi only worked on our first night there. After that no wifi available. 4. Ordered room service breakfast prior to going to bed. Received phone call the next morning, which woke us up ”Sorry, no breakfast can be served, our systems are down”. 5. No online check out. 6. Online amenities say ”Free wine and beer served afternoons”. No beer available, only wine. 7. Hotel is old and shows it big time. 8. Room was very dark, small, and uninviting. 9. Rates are pricey. Bottom line: This is a very poor hotel choice. Downtown Denver, there are plenty of far superior options available, including the Residence Inn Denver City Center right next door, where we stayed last time we were in Denver. Cannot recommend.

This fine old refurbished hotel in the heart of downtown Denver was fine for a three day conference. As a Bonvoy member, I used suite night credits and was upgraded to an exceptionally large and lovely suite, complete with fireplace – 1042. See photos. The suite had a large kitchen area with microwave and mini-fridge, sink, and coffee maker. No dishes, cutlery, kitchen ware, or dish soap and kitchen towels. It had a very comfortable dining room area, 4 chairs, and a spacious living room area, two closets with a functional safe, and bedroom with king bed. Blackout blinds in every room. The bed and bedding were soft and comfortable, the way I like them, and the lighting and bedside outlets were available. Bathroom has decent storage space, blow dryer, toiletries in addition to those affixed to the shower wall, and a lighted magnifying make-up mirror. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that my colleagues in the standard guest rooms had no mini-fridge. In my view, there is simply no excuse not to supply these in every hotel room. They are inexpensive to both purchase and maintain. The elevators were also a bit of an issue – we were down to 2 out of 3 with resulting longish waits, but they are pretty interesting - the original building elevators from the early 1900s. The bar serves a decent menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices, and the food is well prepared and presented. There is coffee available in the morning and cookies and milk in the evening in the lobby, free of charge. To a person, the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to the servers in the restaurant, to the housekeeping and maintenance staff. Special mention goes to Cosette – she is one of the best front desk staff I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She was quick to offer suggestions, and assistance, quick to go out of her way for you, and quick with a smile and a greeting. She’s a real credit to the hotel. All in all, would I stay at the Magnolia when in Denver again? Yes, but only if I had a room with a fridge.

Money is tight and if it is value for money you are looking for, this is out. It is by far the best Motel 6 I ever stayed in, but it is a Motel6. The staff is great and trying really to keep this place in ship shape. Andrea and Sol went above and beyond to help us out. People do matter.

No microwave or fridge. Bath floor warped from shower spill out. Had to go hunt down paper cup at a gas station so I could make tea in lobby.

This was a last minute choice at a hotel chain we don't usually use. Sayin that the rooms were clean and well maintained, the bed and pillows were comfortable and it appeared that they had done recent maintenance on the room. Now for the problems most which were not of their creation. the room was a little small and I would not recommend it for a person who is claustrophobic. I was also disappointed that it did not have a fridge or microwave. All in all it was a good, quiet, clean room.

The noise, drugs and homeless abound here. MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE - this hotel will allow ”guests” other hotels will not allow - such as homeless, or drug people; its the closest thing to a jungle I've ever seen - even the cops don't feel safe here. There's a large homeless camp less than 100 feet from the hotel back perimeter. Don't believe any of the photos or good reviews - this is scam The place is an absolute dump - my mattress had stains all over it. The sheets and blankets have a yellowish look - I washed them with Tide and Clorox but they still looked nasty. Go to one of the other nearby hotels like Clarion or Days Inn. They're the same price and much better staff and rooms.

One of our best experiences to date. Very relaxing by the stream of water to belongs to Kansas so don't drink the water in the stream. Mr. Moore was fun to talk to about his many experiences. The small town has some good food and merchandise. Be prepared because because everywhere the shortage of labor causes some locals to limited hours

Our first hotel booked at another chain was not acceptable to stay in, so we called La Quinta. They gave us a great, clean room right over the phone. After having driving 8 hours, we were so relieved to have a safe, clean place to stay.
