Hillside - Nature Lifestyle Lodge
4.6/519 Reviews
We stayed at Hillside for 6 nights and it was an amazing experience. Being out of season, 4 of those nights we were the only people staying which made it feel like our own exclusive and private paradise. Holgar, Aloun and Oscar made our stay so comfortable and relaxing - it was like a home away from home. Many evenings we would sit at the bar with them chatting, learning about their story, the local area and what’s generally happening across the country. It was like being with friends. The food was superb and the choice plentiful. Before we got to Hillside we were in Thailand where our son got very unwell and lost a fair bit of weight. He ate like a horse at Hillside so thankfully, by the end of our stay he had regained full strength. To say the setting is like paradise is not an exaggeration. You’re totally surrounded by nature - it’s 360 degree jungle and mountains. In fact, it’s all so pure that it doesn’t look real. Everything was well maintained and spotlessly clean. We did a few excursions while we were there. We went to Nahm Dong Park which is a 15 minute walk from Hillside. We didn’t have enough Lao Kip with us so Holgar settled our bill from the park and we paid him. Holgar also arranged for us to have a guide take us out for a day to Kuang Si Falls and a few other places. One evening, Oscar (Holgar and Aloun’s 10yr old son) and Buddy (their aging dog) took us for hike up to a viewpoint and then back through a village. All of these are great little touches that really added to our stay. Overall, we can’t fault anything and we are extremely grateful to Holgar, Aloun and Oscar for making us feel so welcome and looking after us impeccably well. We can wholeheartedly recommend staying at Hillside.

The hotel was newly opened this year and there are many foreigners staying there. The owner is Chinese and is warm and friendly. There is a large public area on the first floor. I especially like chatting with the owner and the guests there. The atmosphere is very good. There is also a large balcony on the second floor where you can wash and dry clothes, and also smoke and chat. There are many foreigners staying here. Clean and hygienic. The bed is the most spacious I have ever stayed in, and it can sleep two people. The hotel is very close to Puxi Mountain and the night market

Staying at this resort is the last stop of the Lao trip. I spent a very memorable two nights. We prefer it here compared to the hotel in the town. Room equipment: We live in a tent by the river. Pay attention to the zipper to prevent mosquitoes in and out, except for toothbrushes to the front desk. No phone, all contact depends on the resort's own app, other facilities are complete. Activities experience: Pay during your stay to experience kayaking, sunset cruises and massages. The kayaking experience is great, the guide is very professional and the scenery is beautiful along the way, a total of two hours, the price is 25$/person (excluding service fee); The sunset cruise is a long-tailed boat with guides and boatmen. There are no other tourists. The scenery along the way is quiet and beautiful, about 45 minutes, 18$/person, including a cocktail. We also experienced a boat by the Mekong River for 42$/person, which is different compared to each other. Dining: Vegetables are farmed by themselves, the price is reasonable, the taste is very good, Western and local cuisines are beyond expectations. Travel: The resort is close to the airport, ten minutes drive from the town, 20 minutes drive from the train station, there is a free tutu car transfer, the shift is not too much, there are also motorcycles to rent (of course the price is much higher than the town). In short, if you come to Luang Prabang next time, you will still choose here.

Luang Prabang City Center
It was comfortable with a calm atmosphere because it was conveniently located and away from the main street. I stayed in another area, but I felt that this area had few mosquitoes. We requested and got it through the second floor of the corner room of the annex, but the terrace here was comfortable, and it was good to slow down while watching the life scenery of the neighborhood in one hand at noon. In the morning, you can also visit the bowl from this terrace. The size of the room with luxurious use of trees and stones is sufficient. I think it's only this room, but there is no partition in the shower room, and I use it to make sure that the water doesn't jump to take a bath. It may be for couples or accustomed couples. The hot water was too hot and came out firmly so difficult to adjust. Staff is also English OK. polite and friendly. Breakfast is American style, not buffet. He gave me a naive but polite service. If you say you want to repeat again, it is a guest house of ”YES”.
Y Not Lao Villa

Luang Prabang City Center
Convenient to travel, in the center of the old city, and very close to the morning and night markets. The room was booked as a family room with three beds. There was a youth hostel next door, so it was a bit noisy at night. The price is similar to that in China. The villa has a beautiful appearance and a beautiful courtyard environment, which is suitable for a short break. Overall good, recommended 👍

Laos, Luang Prabang. The hotel is not far from the central Luang Prabang street, 10 minutes walk to the Mekong River and 20 minutes to the old palace. very convenient. The hotel guys will have a few Chinese words and it will not be wrong to collect money. The small yard can be parked. The room is large, the facilities are relatively simple, the health is very good, very clean! Breakfast, Western food, several styles to choose from, as well as coffee and fruit bowls. The amount of coffee and fruit bowl is great! The taste is very good!

Small shop with strong Southeast Asian style, the room is clean and tidy, the bathroom is independent, and the air conditioning is complete. The location is very good, close to the night market, the Grand Palace, and many restaurants around are very convenient. The owner and his wife are very nice, very enthusiastic, and answer all questions.
