The hotel is conveniently located in the northern portion of LiJiang ancient town, easy access to the village within a few mins walk as well as the observation viewpoint high located above the town for a panoramic view of the whole village!
The service is impeccable, the hotel staff will help to cart your luggages from the nearest drop off point to the hotel as it is located within the village that is not accessible by car!
The location is quiet, cozy, comfortable, and with helpful staff that are ready at your request! I would
recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this lovely ancient town!
This guesthouse is located right at the best viewing spot for the Duoyishu Rice Terraces. However, due to its geographical location, the parking lot isn't directly in front of the property. You'll need to arrange for the guesthouse's van to pick you up and drop you off. If you've finished exploring the nearby terraces and don't have your luggage, it's just a few minutes' walk back to the guesthouse by taking the stairs down from the side. The room looks exactly like the pictures, no discrepancies at all – it's really beautiful! Stargazing at night was also absolutely amazing. Great value for money, highly recommended!

The night view was great. The two ladies at the front desk were incredibly kind and patient. However, the bathroom wasn't very clean; the toilet was a bit dirty, probably because it's not a new hotel. Also, the outdoor table in the view room was dusty. The water was very hot, and the mini-fridge didn't work. Everything else was pretty good.

I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person.
The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin.
Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth.
They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead.
The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed.
Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating.

Found a hidden gem of a ******* B&B right next to Dukezong Ancient Town! It's just a few minutes' walk to explore the ancient town and spin the giant prayer wheel, so the location is absolutely perfect. If you're driving, it's even better – free parking right outside, making it super convenient for getting around.
The two-bedroom family suite was spacious and well-arranged, giving our family of three plenty of room to relax. The ******* decor created such a wonderful ambiance, with exquisite wood carvings and soft ******* furnishings that were beautiful and charming. Plus, it was spotlessly clean.
What truly sets this place apart are the thoughtful high-altitude amenities: every room has an oxygen concentrator and humidifier. We didn't have to worry about altitude sickness or dry air at all – sleeping with the oxygen on at night was incredibly comfortable and peaceful.
The hospitality was top-notch from the moment we arrived. The host immediately brought us freshly brewed hot butter tea and authentic ******* pastries. The rich tea and delicious snacks instantly melted away our travel fatigue, showing true ******* warmth.
They also offer a complete set of free ******* traditional clothing, perfect for taking stunning, atmospheric photos in the courtyard or along the ancient town streets. It saved us the cost of renting outfits, making it incredible value for money. The owner and staff are genuinely warm and friendly. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Shangri-La!

We had the best stay at MuKa Pastoral Manor during our Yunnan trip.
The property has a true resort-like atmosphere, complemented by exceptional butler service. Upon check-in, we were added to a dedicated WeChat group with the hotel team. Since there is no telephone in the room, guests can simply send any request or question via WeChat, and the staff respond almost instantly.
The hotel also uses the group chat to share daily reminders about breakfast hours, afternoon tea, the complimentary photoshoot, tea sessions, and the nightly bonfire activities. It made communication very convenient and personalized.
One experience that really impressed us was when we had to leave before breakfast hours for an early sightseeing trip. We asked if they could prepare something simple for us, and they thoughtfully packed bread, boiled eggs, milk, and local snacks. It was an unexpected gesture that we truly appreciated.
We stayed in a Level 2 duplex-style room with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, making it perfect for a family or a group of four. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with an oxygen supply system and a dehumidifier. The butler also took the initiative to explain how to use the oxygen system and shared useful advice on managing altitude sickness, especially after learning about our previous and upcoming destinations.
The afternoon tea and nightly bonfire experience are held on Level 5, which also features a cozy mini library. While most of the books are in Chinese, guests are free to browse and enjoy the space. We particularly enjoyed the traditional yak butter tea experience around the bonfire in the evening.
Although the property is located about 20 minutes by Didi from Shangri-La Ancient Town, transportation is very convenient and ride-hailing services are readily available. The hotel also provides complimentary transfers to and from Shangri-La Railway Station, which was a nice added benefit.
What truly sets MuKa Pastoral Manor apart is its outstanding hospitality and beautiful natural surroundings. The farm, courtyard, and open spaces create a peaceful retreat close to nature. My favorite part was waking up each morning to breathtaking views of Shika Snow Mountain (石卡雪山) right outside the window.
Overall, this was one of the most memorable stays of our trip. Between the attentive service, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and stunning scenery, I would highly recommend MuKa Pastoral Manor to anyone visiting Shangri-La.
I speak highly of the place, but if there is one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast selection. Given the overall standard and level of service they provide, I would have expected a slightly higher-quality breakfast offering. It felt somewhat underwhelming, with very basic Western options (bread, egg, jam) and Asian offerings (Mi Xian), along with milk, coffee, and juice. The juice also did not seem freshly prepared, but rather packaged.
Staying one night in Wunongding was absolutely worth it! We got incredibly lucky and woke up to the most stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' view the next morning. Watching the sun slowly illuminate the Meili Snow Mountain was a truly breathtaking experience that you have to see to believe. In that moment, all the travel fatigue just melted away, making the journey completely worthwhile!
The hotel's location is fantastic; you can see the snow-capped mountains right from your window, no need to fight for a spot with crowds. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was very quiet at night. In the morning, you can even catch the sunrise right near the hotel. The owner and staff were exceptionally warm and helpful, advising us on the best viewing times and even arranging thoughtful little details. It was a perfect experience.
Witnessing the full 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' in Wunongding is truly the most unforgettable memory of our Yunnan trip. Five stars, highly recommended!
Newly opened, the facilities are brand new, the environment is comfortable and quiet, and the service is very thoughtful. The owner is very familiar with the surroundings, so if you have any questions, just ask him. The room is clean and comfortable, and the soundproofing is excellent. The location is also very good, convenient for getting anywhere. Highly recommended.
Modern beautiful hotel with a full view of meili snow mountain. located right next to the official viewing deck!
staff were welcoming - provided us tea upon arrival, brought us to our room and allowed us to choose between 2 views since there was space! they also helped us navigate the room, how to use the various amenities like the humidifier and oxygen machine. toiletries were fully provided for! the night time sweet soup was also soothing to have.
these rooms I believe have no air con but it worked for us as the weather was very cool. the option for a heater was there.
breakfast had a choice of 2 types of noodles, and a little buffet bar, with a great view too!
overall recommend this space for a stay!

The front desk service was excellent, and the owner was very welcoming. Although the room wasn't huge, it had smart voice control and everything you could need. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the shower head was fantastic. With a subway station and Wanda Plaza nearby, it's very convenient for dining and getting around by metro.

GGuest UserThe best decision I made in Shangri-La was choosing this guesthouse; it single-handedly made my entire high-altitude trip enjoyable! The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from Dukezong Ancient Town's Moonlight Square and the Giant Prayer Wheel. It’s wonderfully quiet yet centrally located, perfect for exploring and dining out, then returning to a peaceful retreat. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was soft, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. Most importantly, it came with an individual oxygen concentrator, which meant I wasn't worried about altitude sickness at all on my first high-altitude trip, and I slept incredibly soundly. The owner is super enthusiastic, offering free airport transfers both ways. The breakfast was varied, with delicious Yunnan rice noodles, and the service was attentive yet unobtrusive. Any requests were handled super quickly. It offers an immersive ******* living experience while still providing modern comforts. Next time I'm in Shangri-La, I'll definitely stay here again. I genuinely recommend it to anyone visiting Diqing!
GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They confirmed my check-in details and the hotel's location in advance. Upon arrival, they immediately offered to help with my luggage and even assisted with purchasing tickets for the Song Dynasty City show (I didn't realize discounted tickets needed to be bought a day in advance, but the hotel managed to get them for me). They were consistently warm and welcoming whenever I saw them.
The breakfast was plentiful and, more importantly, delicious, with a fantastic view from the restaurant.
The room was spacious and modern, featuring a double vanity and a large dressing mirror, perfect for two women to get ready simultaneously. My friend was extremely pleased.
Initially, I was a bit worried based on some user-uploaded photos on Amap, but thankfully, the hotel's photos on Trip.com were accurate and trustworthy, not misleading. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
GGuest UserI've lost count of how many times I've stayed at Meishan Inn. It's truly my favorite inn in Dali Ancient City!
The location is superb, extremely close to all the fun spots around Renmin Road and the ancient city, yet it's incredibly quiet at night, not noisy at all. The owner's service is incredibly thoughtful and meticulous; any questions or requests are handled perfectly. The inn itself is beautifully decorated, making it a perfect place to unwind and relax. I could easily spend an entire afternoon doing nothing but sitting in the courtyard. I genuinely recommend everyone to stay here!
AAgathe2This hotel was the best stay of my trip in Sichuan / Yunnan. I cherish the countryside and i was apply to go out of the city to enjoy the slow life, the real life with nature and animals. This stay gave me everything!
The owners, 仁安 里 and Jiren, welcomed me like a was family. I was starving and they invited me to have dinner with them. It was really nice and i felt really included into their community.
The room was spacious, luminous, and confortable with a huge bed ! I really loved staying on the sofa in the morning, when the sun was blazing. The breakfast was good and generous.
My favorite day was to discover the surrounding of the hotel, walking in the village, seeing all the cute animals (cows, baby cows, dogs, cats, poneys, roosters).
The owner was so considerate to me, he drove me to Shangri-La city center because no taxis were available. Visiting the old town, i was so happy to have chosen a hotel away from this touristic place. He also picked me up and drop me off at the train station.
I would absolutely recommend and return to this hotel. I loved it very much. It gave me the opportunity to relax, discover ******* culture and amazing people, and live the slow life.
Thanks again, and Tashi Delek !
JjessicazengStaying here really shaped our time at Shangri-la - may have enjoyed our time here as the highlight! It was perfect to relax here at the end of our Yunnan trip, away from the bustle of the ancient town. In April, the grass of Napa Hai was a bit dry with the ”lake” area being diminished, so it wasn't as pristine and picturesque as seen in some photos. I did love the expanse of the clouds in the sky though. Also, to get to nicer and more scenic spots, that required calling a Didi (which didn't take long, in spite of this place being more remote) - just something to note. When coming back from the ancient city, it does take longer (and the roads are quite dark at night), but we didn't have any problems getting back.
Our favorite part was all the super friendly animals roaming around - ”Ke le” (Coke) and ”Ka fe” (Coffee) the two samoyed dogs, ”Duo duo” and ”Dou dou” the two cats. Each time, they came to greet us. On one night, Duo duo the cat followed us into our room upstairs and started taking a nap; on the second night, Ke le, the large white samoyed, came into our room and started relaxing there, happily drooling and panting all the while. During one of the mornings, we had breakfast, and both (especially Ke le) were also clustered around us. On one of the days where we were heading out, Ke le even walked all the way with us to the street entrance where we called a taxi. (Apparently Ke le often accompanies and sends guests off.)
Breakfast was the familiar mi xian noodles, with some pickled vegetables available. We enjoyed the pets around us as we ate.
The accommodations were also super modern and very fancy, one of the best renovated stays I've experienced. They even had a machine that would increase the oxygen flow in the evenings, an air purifier, and floor heating - the whole floor got very warm. Very comfortable beds. The shower and toilet are in separate rooms, with the sink in the middle - slightly inconvenient to change in the shower, but not a big problem.
The staff was super helpful too! They came to pick us up from the train station upon arrival, and even sent us back when we were leaving around 6:30am (thanks to him for waking up so early to help us, even before the sun had risen)! It's about 10-15min away from the train station, very convenient. When we arrived, there was even a complimentary afternoon tea and snacks option, which they delivered to our room. There's also a rack of Tibetan-esque clothing you can borrow, though we opted to try some other clothes in the ancient city.
It was hard to leave after the affection of the animals and how relaxing it was - wish we could've stayed longer!
GGuest UserTook my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. It was truly delightful. Thank you, Aling, for bringing us all together!
GGuest UserThe view from the accommodation is absolutely stunning! It’s located right in the ancient town, making it super convenient to get around, with endless food options nearby. You can easily take a stroll around the old town at night. Most importantly, the staff provided exceptional service—I was beyond impressed. If I could give them a million stars out of a hundred, I absolutely would!
The staff were incredibly helpful. They carried our luggage for us (which was a lifesaver since dragging bags through the ancient town is quite tough) and even helped us plan our itinerary to find the most convenient routes. Their recommendations were spot-on! On top of that, they made us delicious tea every single day, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing.
If you are visiting Lijiang, I highly recommend staying here. It’s truly wonderful!
GGuest UserThis time, I was traveling with my parents and children, and I deliberately avoided the noisy Old Town of Dayan. I took my friend's recommendation and chose this guesthouse in Yuhu Village, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! The guesthouse is right next to the village parking lot, making self-driving and parking incredibly convenient. My parents and the kids didn't have to walk far when getting in and out of the car.
The entire guesthouse only has six rooms, so it's quiet with few people, offering maximum privacy. It was exceptionally comfortable to stay here. The owner was very enthusiastic and provided us with detailed travel tips. The courtyard is elegantly and cozily decorated. Even on a rainy day, sitting in the courtyard, sipping tea and chatting, gazing at the surrounding mountain scenery, felt incredibly relaxing. The guesthouse also has a coffee area and a restaurant. The local dishes recommended by the owner were authentic and made with fresh ingredients; both the elderly and children thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
The rooms were clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding and complete facilities. Our family rested very peacefully. The owner and staff were warm and kind, always ready to help promptly with any needs, providing truly attentive service. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoying a slow-paced time at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, this place is especially suitable for a relaxing family vacation. I wholeheartedly recommend it to friends looking for a quiet getaway! I'm planning another trip with my girlfriends in October!
