Tianhai Sixi Hotel (Jiujiang Liansheng Happy City International Convention and Exhibition Center)

Jiujiang Liansheng Happy Town
I had mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. Starting off with the positive things: 1) they were essential one of only 2 places in the City of Jiujiang that would accommodate foreigners during the pandemic. My green arrow code had an asterisks, since I was in Shenzhen within the past 14 days which had a few cases at the time. This made it hard for me to find a place to stay. 2) The location is ok, away from city center but close to an indoor hot bath spa facility. This was the highlight of my stay. 3) wifi was fairly solid, hot water for showering was available, they offered free cleaning service for my dirty clothes, free hot beverages at the lobby and a nice lounge with a ping pong table on the 5th floor. Now regarding the cons: 1) the landline telephone from my room wasn't working to help me place calls. I tried to reach out to reception to talk about issues, but I couldn't get them on the line. This meant I had to physically go down to the lobby level and communicate my concerns. No problems receiving calls though. 2) The elevator reeked of a strong revolting cigarette stench. Despite there clearly being a no smoking sign in the machine, cetain patrons outright disregarded the rules and did as they pleased. Hotel personnel don't even bother to confront such individuals, which is very upsetting to non-smokers like me. Rather than making an effort to create a healthier and cleaner environment for everyone, the administration prefers to turn a blind eye to such activities, since they fear backlash from such clients and potential loss of revenues from them. This is a major societal issue, but I believe that it will get solved gradually as time goes by and the younger generation gets better educated. I resorted to taking the rear stairwell as an alternative instead. 3) my room key stopped working abruptly on several occasions, hence I had to solicit the cleaning ladies to help open my room door. Furthermore, I eventually lost that room key, and when I went to tell the receptionist what happened, they gave me a new room key but told me I must pay 50¥ (a third of my nightly room rate) as a replacement fee at checkout. Needless to say, I thought it was inappropriate for them to ask for that much money. Most major hotel chains would happily give a new room key for free. 4) the majority of food options in their breakfast buffet were saturated with either added sugar or oil. 5) ************ cards were regularly thrown underneath my room door. It's supposed to be illegal to solicit such services, but its rampant and openly done with no efficient crackdown. This is another thing the hotel administration could do to improve its protocols. *Most of the days I spent in Jiujiang were plagued with torrential rain. Obviously this is beyond human control, so I'm not blaming anybody for this. It made my stay in the city unfortunately less pleasant, as I didn't even once get to see a blue sky with a sun. Overall I would give this place a 7/10 Recommended, but if you are a foreigner then be aware of the aforementioned details. Nobody spoke English, which was to be expected. Be prepared to speak the country's official language if you want to get around in Jiujiang! 😁

My first experience with a camping tent was much better than I imagined. The tent is relatively new and very large, enough to sleep a family of three. The quilt doesn't look old, but because the weather in the south is too humid, moisture condensation at night will inevitably cause mold spots on the quilt. There weren't many bugs. There were basically none inside the tent and not many around. The boss was very nice and provided unlimited hot water. He also reminded us to move the tent to an empty spot next door to prevent us from snoring. The scenery is as shown in the picture. To watch the sunrise, you can climb up for 3/5 minutes to get a wider view. The following is a summary of experience: 1: If you can bring a large bed cover, you can put the quilt on or directly slip into your own quilt cover and cover it with the quilt, which will greatly improve the comfort. 2: Check in advance whether the air cushion is inflated, as well as the pillow part. If it is not inflated, it must be inflated in advance (but the inflating port seems to only be blown by mouth. I don’t know if there is any other way. I can only wipe it with alcohol and disinfect it and then blow it by yourself. Well, it would be better if there were other ways) to sleep comfortably. 3. It may not be cold when you first fall asleep, but as the temperature drops, the humidity increases, and water vapor condenses, it will get colder and colder, so you need to cover yourself with a sleeping bag/quilt. Be prepared in advance. In addition, you can put a bag between the headrest and the tent cloth to separate it, otherwise the tent cloth will slowly condense water vapor and make your hair wet. 4. Check in advance whether there are any items around the tent that may be blown down or knocked over by the wind, and move them in advance to prevent the wind from blowing up in the middle of the night. 5. If you have light sleep and are afraid of someone snoring, prepare earplugs in advance.

The environment is very clean! And the boss and his wife are very nice! When he didn't come back, he would call us and ask us when we would be back. Then we didn't come back until after 12 o'clock, and the boss even went to pick us up! There is also a younger brother and an aunt who are very nice! They won’t leave us alone in the middle of the night! Auntie had to cook breakfast for us before we left the next day. We didn’t have any breakfast because we were rushing to catch the bus. I will stay here again next time I have a chance to visit! highly recommended!

Sixi Yancun (North Route)
From Jingdezhen to Wuyuan, the national highway leads to villages all the way. White walls, black tiles, tomatoes, yellow apricots, rice ears, buffaloes, stone bridges, mountains and green water form a beautiful picture of southern Anhui. Suddenly I felt that I should take a rest, so I sat at the long table of the current B&B, and accidentally opened a book of ”Country Gossip”. I guessed that it was written by the owner of the B&B about his relationship with this old house. The writing was good. It turns out that this B&B was renovated from a house with a history of more than 180 years during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has a plaque of ”Seven Leaves Yanxiang” given by Emperor Daoguang. It has an antique feel in the east and west, and the site selection also follows the principle of ”pillowing mountains, surrounding water, and painting screens”. , the seven leaves represent seven generations. The seven generations who live here have all lived to be over 90 years old. They bloom and spread their leaves, and they reproduce peacefully. I think this house is blessed with some luck. Many students are painting and sketching next to the Tongji Bridge at the entrance of the village. The charm of the Hui-style architecture is all there when they write. Not far from the ancient house, there is an ancient maple tree by the river that lasts all year round. There are swarms of butterflies. The villagers are still washing clothes by the stream. ...Next to the wooden bench bridge is the field ridge exuding the fragrance of rice. The rice ears are ripe and golden with their heads hanging down. Do you have any fear of time and the calmness of time🌾 The wooden leaves are falling, and a meaty dog is waiting for me at the door of the house. The store prepared one meat and two vegetarian dishes that are not spicy at my request, and serves a pot of home-brewed osmanthus rice wine. Let’s cheers🍻

This was probably the most amazing place I’ve ever stayed. The location was perfect (about 10 minutes walk up from the cable car), the views were amazing, the room was SO clean, and the owners were SO kind- they made me dinner, had fresh coffee waiting for me in the morning after my hike, and organized a drive for me to get to my next destination. Although I can’t speak Chinese, they communicated everything through WeChat to make my stay much easier. I’m so happy I stayed here- since it’s one of the only hotels on top of the mountain, I had the mountain all to myself this morning. I’ll never forget this place and would 100% recommend it to solo travelers and groups. 🤍🤍🤍

This hotel is amazing! Great service all the way from the gate to the check in, to the rooms. It gave us an ancient China kind of feel. It’s very quiet and our baby slept well. I regret that we only stayed for one night. We would love to visit this place for a few days. We came here after spending 5 days in Sanqing mountain and staying at Hilton Sanqingshan. It’s definitely way worth a visit. The rooms are huge! Felt like living in an apartment. The breakfast was alright, we ate to our fill. It’s mostly Chinese cuisine, but they have good coffee and some western cereals. We did not like the smell of the shower gels and shampoo though, it was very strong, but that was just a minor issue. We will definitely come again to enjoy the tea, the Chinese cultural history filled corridors and enjoy the ambiance, it’s truly a different experience that I’ve ever had in any other hotel.

Thank you for helping with luggage on the first day of your stay, Miss Lin Yan and Xiao brother Yuan Guocai. The hotel room is quite big, but if there is a lot of luggage, it is a bit troublesome and needs extra manpower to help ~ The security guard at the door is super polite. The underground parking garage is being repaired, so a parking space is arranged. ~ It is not easy for the security guard to freeze in the cold.~ I applied for welcome fruit. In fact, I also sent more snacks. I will also send hot milk on the first night. The breakfast variety options are less than in the city. It is quite rich in the mountains. Traveling to the Sands cableway for about 20 minutes, eating for about 15 minutes, the overall is very convenient ~
