The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around and finding places to eat. There are plenty of supermarkets, shops, and snack bars nearby. The front desk staff are incredibly kind and polite, handling check-ins and check-outs very efficiently. They were also patient and thorough when answering all my questions. The room was spotless, with no unpleasant odors, and all the toiletries were well-stocked. The mattress was just right, not too soft and not too hard, and the pillows were really comfortable. The common areas were clean and bright, and the overall environment was quiet and elegant. For its price point, the value for money is outstanding. The breakfast was also fantastic and delicious, offering a mix of Chinese and Western options, including freshly made wontons and noodles. I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit.

Right next to the Suzhou Museum, it's just a short walk across the street from Exit 3 of Suzhou Museum Station on the metro. The photos are of the hotel's public areas, which are in an old mansion. It's not a huge place, but the atmosphere is very elegant, and the service is excellent. The room matched the pictures, and the washer-dryer combo was super convenient. Even the disposable slippers were good quality. The butler service was very attentive; they delivered water quickly every time we asked. The TV remote in the family room wasn't the best, but it wasn't a big deal, and the butler responded promptly when we mentioned it. We received complimentary welcome fruit and afternoon tea upon arrival, and a small gift when we checked out. We didn't get a chance to try the Hanfu experience due to time constraints, so we'll save that for next time!

No hotel is perfect, but some definitely have standout features. Taihu Hotel, I highly recommend it!
Even though it's called Taihu Hotel, it's not directly on Lake Taihu. Only some of the lake-view rooms actually offer a glimpse of the lake, and there are no public areas with lake views either. So, if you're staying at Taihu Hotel and your budget allows, I'd suggest a lake-view room, especially one with a balcony. In spring or autumn, sitting on the balcony, you can see Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Isle) – that green shoreline across the lake. The balcony faces directly onto Yuantouzhu's ferry terminal, offering beautiful and delightful scenery. I had initially planned to find a lakeside cafe to relax, but this balcony was just too good to leave. The room came with a capsule coffee machine, so I brewed a cup and sat on the balcony. A gentle breeze was blowing, a few swallows circled overhead (I assume their nests are on the hotel roof), and the lush greenery enveloped me in the fresh scent of plants. The view was expansive, with boats coming and going on distant Lake Taihu, yet it felt incredibly tranquil.
I didn't catch the sunrise or sunset, but I did witness the moonrise. I'd never seen the moon rise before; usually, when I look up, the moon is already high in the sky. There's a small hill directly opposite my room, and to my surprise, I saw the moon slowly ascending. It happened to be the 15th day of the ***** calendar, and the night sky was deep blue and cloudless. Unfortunately, my photography skills aren't great, so I couldn't capture it, and my literary abilities aren't good enough to describe it in words. All I can say is, it was incredibly beautiful. I'm not sure if this is visible every season, or if the moon might rise from a different spot sometimes. My knowledge of astronomy and geography isn't the best, but I imagine the moon doesn't always appear from the exact same location.
The greenery between the hotel and Lake Taihu isn't all part of the hotel property, and you can't walk through it as there are fences marking off third-party property. The hotel's back garden is quite large; it takes a good half-hour to wander through every corner. In the evenings, they show open-air movies on the lawn. It's not too cold or hot right now, and the mosquitoes haven't started working yet, so it's quite comfortable. However, I'm not sure if this happens on non-holidays. Around May Day, they even had fireworks in the evenings. Fireworks aren't normally available on weekdays, and I'm not sure about weekends.
This is a resort-style hotel. The hotel's facilities are pretty good. I was initially worried about it being outdated since it was renovated in 2016, but it didn't feel old at all, and the decor was quite nice. The parking lot is huge, with both an underground garage and outdoor parking spaces. There's a gym, ping-pong, tennis courts, and a pool. There's also an AI trail, which is a 1km loop around the back garden. They have small three-wheeled scooters, but I'm not sure if they're free or require a QR code payment to use.
The staff are all very friendly and provide good service.
There are a few areas for improvement. The gym has a sort of cable machine, which is great, but the accessory options are a bit limited. Also, the hotel's signage is a bit unclear. The underground garage is actually on the hotel's 1st floor, but there are no signs indicating how to get from the garage to the public areas on the 1st floor. When exiting the garage to check in, the elevator sign says the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and reception is on the 5th floor. Taihu Hotel's layout is a bit different from other hotels, so I was slightly confused and went to the 3rd floor looking for the lobby, but check-in is actually on the 5th floor. Perhaps it would be helpful to add a note like ”Reception (Check-in)” next to ”Reception” on the signs.

This hotel is nestled in an alley in Laomendong, right opposite the popular Pioneer Bookstore, which is a great location. The only downside is that it's 1.5 km from the metro station, but we took taxis everywhere, so it wasn't a big deal for us. We originally booked a tatami room, but only found out upon arrival that it was on the B2 level. It had a musty smell, was damp, and poorly ventilated, making it quite uncomfortable. We paid an extra 1000 RMB to switch to a room on the second floor, which was much better. If you're booking, definitely avoid the basement rooms. The hotel has three adorable cats! Aside from the little hiccup with the room upgrade, everything else was pretty good, even though the price doubled during the holiday.

I stayed at Anshe Hotel in Suzhou for two nights and had a great experience! The hotel is very well located in Suzhou’s historic center, within walking distance of Pingjiang Road, one of the city’s most charming areas, known for its canals, traditional houses, tea shops, restaurants, and lively atmosphere. It is also close to Guanqian Street and a metro station, making it easy to explore the city.
The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Before my arrival, I sent a message asking for recommendations on local attractions, and they responded promptly with useful suggestions.
The hotel is a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and stylish place to stay while spending most of their time exploring Suzhou. It does not offer facilities such as a restaurant, spa, or gym, but that was not an issue for me given its excellent location. The room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with all the necessary amenities, including bathrobes and slippers. The hotel was quiet despite being close to many attractions, and the service was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again!

Choosing Xiaohu Hotel for a family trip was an excellent decision! They provided children's picture books, so my child could read and stay entertained in the room. It's only a few minutes' walk from Wu Cheng'en's Former Residence and Hexia Ancient Town, so we took the kids to visit the birthplace of 'Journey to the West,' and they were super excited. The hotel's billiards room is free to use, which was great for dad and the kids to play together and bond. Breakfast was good. I asked a staff member if I could pack two tea eggs to go, and she said yes, even reminding me to wrap them in paper because of the sauce. As someone who often travels with kids, I totally get it – kids don't always eat much at breakfast, so being able to pack something for later is really helpful. Some hotels don't allow this, so this thoughtful gesture made a great impression on me. Five-star rating!

Perfect location, lovely hosts, beautiful room with vintage furniture and super soft blanket! Very authentic. During the day time it’s super loud because of the amount of tourists, but staying in this place gives you unique opportunity to explain the town in the very early morning or very late evening (the lights switch off at 23:00).
The room can seem small, but it’s old town, it can’t be different:)
Unfortunately there was no tea provided, that’s sad for tea-famous country, maybe should be improved. Other than that – my stay was amazing☺️

Who knows the family! I didn't expect the scenic homestay, but I was surprised by this one! 👉 Health is really amazing! The floor is not sticky with bare feet, the bedding is like just sunbathing, there is no mold in the corner of the bathroom, obsessive-compulsive disorder is a satisfying ~, 💖 The boss is super real, watching me bring the baby and specially changed the thick mattress. There are small daisys in the yard. In the morning, the window is opened to see the mountain view. The price is full! , ⚠️ Small disadvantage: The location is in the alley, you have to drive slowly to find it. But it takes 5 minutes to walk to the entrance of the scenic spot, and the flaws are not concealed! , I really press Amway to the treasures who are pursuing cleanliness, come to Huaguoshan to close their eyes and rush this home! I have lived and said yes ~

This is a great Republic of China-era hotel, tucked away in a quiet spot yet still central. The courtyard is very unique, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's about 800 meters from popular attractions like Geyuan Garden, Heyuan Garden, Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, Dongguan Ancient Ferry, and Xing Street – all within easy reach. There are also plenty of dining options; the famous Erchun Fried Rice is right next door, and old brands like Fuchun Teahouse, Maopailou, and Gonghechun are all nearby. It's incredibly convenient for an after-dinner stroll. The service is excellent, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. Located at the entrance of a small alley, it's wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. If time permits, brewing a pot of tea and sitting in the courtyard to soak in the 'slow Yangzhou' vibe would be truly delightful!

Seriously can't praise this hotel enough! My stay here was absolutely fantastic. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; they not only upgraded my room for free but also thoughtfully arranged a late checkout until 2 PM and even gave me extra breakfast vouchers. Their service was truly attentive and thorough. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, making for a very pleasant stay. To top it all off, the hotel even gave me a small gift when I checked out – little surprises everywhere! Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. The service was spot-on, and the experience was superb. Definitely worth recommending!

SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
GGuest UserI always choose to stay here whenever I'm in Wuxi, and it's consistently a fantastic experience. The front desk service is excellent and attentive, the rooms are spotlessly clean, and the facilities are well-equipped. This is my absolute go-to for accommodation in Wuxi! Highly recommend!

LlisaThis hotel, nestled within the Jiangnan Weaving Museum, has a private entrance that leads to a hidden gem. While the bustling Shantang Street is just outside, inside it's a serene Suzhou-style courtyard. You can barely hear the noise from Shantang Street in the guest rooms. However, the rooms face old residential buildings quite closely, so it's essential to keep the curtains drawn for privacy.
Breakfast is served in another courtyard, accessible by walking through a silk shop. It's a set menu featuring Suzhou-style noodles with some side dishes and grains. The food was quite good and very light.

GGuest UserThe environment is great, and the location is right in the heart of Zhouzhuang, very close to all the main attractions. The hostess is super nice, and her dog is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Ragdoll cat is also beautiful. They offer a shuttle service from the parking lot in their scenic area car, which is really convenient. It was my first time staying inside a scenic area, and it was perfect for enjoying the night views – very quiet with fewer people around in the evenings.

AAnonymous UserOur stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless.
The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light.
The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations. Their tips truly made our trip special.
We felt so at home and will 100% be recommending this gem to all our friends. Don’t hesitate—book this place for a seamless and memorable Suzhou adventure

BBobby_LeslieThis was an incredibly satisfying and surprisingly good trip! After I made the booking, the owner called to give me directions to the free parking lot. Once I arrived, an electric cart quickly picked me up and took me to the hotel. The hotel itself rivals a five-star garden resort – it's clean, tidy, and has a comfortable temperature.
They upgraded our rooms and placed them together, which was convenient for visiting each other. The rooms were very spacious, with separate wet and dry areas, and impeccably clean with a cozy atmosphere.
The family room had two extra-large beds, a bathtub, and an open-air balcony perfect for enjoying tea, the view, and conversations.
Ordering takeout in the evening was also very convenient, with delivery directly to the hotel. The hotel also has its own restaurant within the ancient town, offering discounts to guests. The restaurant's ambiance is excellent, the dishes are visually appealing, taste great, and the set menus offer fantastic value for money.
When checking out, I just sent a WeChat message to the owner, and an electric cart was immediately arranged to take us back to the parking lot. The entire stay was absolutely perfect! The owner also has a super cute Corgi. The next time I visit Zhouzhuang, I'll definitely choose Mulan again.
MM49795****The door lock of the original room was a bit problematic, and the boss directly changed us to a more spacious one. Since it is an ancient building renovation, the facilities will be relatively old.
The location is super good, just turn a corner to Dongguan Street Food Street, parking in Dongguan Street ground parking lot is very convenient!
The service is also super good, the price of 200+ is free hot springs, drink coupons, and Hanfu photo experience. Not only is pet-friendly and free cleaning fee, but also free medical examination for pets is provided. But because of the conflict of time schedule, we finally experienced hot springs. Since the hot spring is experienced in another homestay (more than 600 meters away), the boss also borrowed the battery car from us, which was too touching. All in all, it is a great value experience.
