XXiaoqiyaokaixinyaThis time, I stayed at a hidden gem of a hotel near Universal Studios! You can see the Universal cityscape and even Harry Potter's castle right from the room 🏰, which my kids absolutely loved – they kept snapping photos themselves.
The hotel is conveniently located right next to Wangfujing Bay, with direct access to the mall from the third floor, making dining and shopping incredibly easy!
During the peak summer season, compared to the Universal Studios Hotel, this place offers fantastic value for money. The stay experience was top-notch. Our butler was exceptionally thoughtful; since it was my child's birthday, they upgraded our room, sent a cake, decorated for the birthday, and even provided 'Little Prince' toiletries for kids.
The hotel is very new, so the room facilities are all fresh and clean. It's also larger than the standard rooms at the Universal Studios Hotel, and the soundproofing is quite good. Ordering takeout was also very convenient!
A special thank you to Joanna Jessica from Guest Relations. She communicated very thoughtfully even before our check-in and was always prompt in her replies after we arrived, making our stay even more comfortable. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Universal.

MMei Yee ChiaLOCATION : Apartment is facing Hutong life (historic alleyways and traditional courtyard homes (siheyuan).
10mins walk to Dongsi Train Station (Exit E, Line 5 & 6), McDonalds and supermarket (next to Dongsi Train Station Exit B).
3 - 5mins walk to main road & minimart, a lot of local brand shops and restaurants along the main road.
Infront of the apartment is Longfusi (Longfu) area. A lot of local stalls, nice place to chill. Most are local brand shops and well known brands will be 7-11 convenient store, Arabica (% Arabica) coffee shop, Miniso (variety store) and Muji (fashion store).
30mins walk/ 15mins drive to Wangfujing Street (Beijing’s most iconic and bustling pedestrian shopping avenues).
30mins car ride to Niujie St (Muslim area).
15mins car ride to Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City.
1.5hr drive to Great Wall of China (note : The Great Wall has multiple entrances depending on which section you visit. For the highly-rated, restored Mutianyu section (73 km from Beijing), you will arrive at the main Visitor Center and proceed to either the North Entrance (for the cable car) or the South Entrance (for the chairlift and toboggan). Cable car and chairlift, no age limit. Toboggan, 60yrs old and above not allowed to ride)).
CLEANLINESS : Room is clean and not carpet flooring, so cleaner and no stain. Queen bed and Queen sofa bed are a bit hard, but OK. Toilet clean, but have mold stubborn stains between the tiles.
SERVICE : 24hrs helpdesk. Excellent and very helpful front desk. 1) We wanted to send parcel to a friend in Shenzhen, front desk helped us to book the pick up service using their own phone (we Wechat pay to the front desk staff). 2) We wanted to buy something urgently, and none of the stores sell, but we found the item online and ask front desk to help us buy, cause we don't have local no. and don't know how to navigate the app (no English translation). Front desk bought for us online and we pay them via WeChat again. 1 hour later, the item arrived!
3) Inside the room, there is no phone to contact the front desk. But they do provide us their Wechat QR code, so we can contact them, 24/7! Their reply is so fast, even I texted them at 1am! Less than 15 seconds, they replied! So efficient! Over all, China is so efficient and convenient.
FACILITIES : Small gym and pool table available at Level B1. Wheelchair/pram friendly. TV channels, not many selection, mostly all local channels. No English news channels available. No iron board, must request from front desk. Washing machine is clean, come with dryer function (note : need 3hrs to dry the clothes. We wash the clothes at 11pm. Once washing is done after 1 hour, we set to drying mode. Next day morning, the clothes still hot inside the machine. Nice!). Level 1 lobby, they have a room to keep parcels. If you have friends who want to deliver parcel to you or you order online, can send to the apartment directly, but you need to collect the parcel from the parcel room yourself.
FOOD : A few halal restaurants near the apartment, but mostly serve beef. If you are not a beef person, you try 紫光园 Ziguangyuan Halal Restaurant (inside Longfu/Longsi area) they serve nice Beijing Roast Duck! They have a lot of outlets, one is near Wangfujing St and another one at Niujie St.

77793****It was freezing outside in winter, but super warm inside – I felt like I could wear a T-shirt, the air conditioning was excellent. The service was generally great. My child threw a beanbag up onto the ceiling, which was about three or four meters high, and the hotel staff even managed to get it down for us. I'm very grateful for that. I deducted 0.5 points for service because the front desk staff seemed clueless; when I asked where to feed the alpacas, they said they didn't know and that it was handled by the hot springs area, implying it wasn't under their management. They mentioned the hot springs and entertainment were outsourced. However, we found the alpacas just a short distance outside the hotel lobby entrance, along with geese, ducks, and chickens. There were three large and two small alpacas, and they were adorable. Do bring them some carrots and greens; they looked quite hungry. For breakfast, go early, before 8 AM, as it's very abundant. If you go later, you'll miss out on the delicious cream cakes. Dinner was a buffet due to New Year's, and the seafood was quite fresh for the hotpot. The hot springs were a bit crowded, but the kids had a good time, mostly hitting each other with ocean balls. There weren't many indoor hot spring pools, making it a bit cramped. The temperatures were all high, but it was very clean. They said there were outdoor pools too, but we didn't go as it was too cold.

MMeiyincidufuHighly, highly recommended!!! Our group of four climbed Dongling Mountain this morning, and the scenery was so beautiful we didn't want to go back to Beijing. On a whim, we wanted to find a hot spring hotel nearby where we could relax and soak, and we found this one. The scenery was absolutely stunning!!! The entire village has excellent red-themed architecture and a very positive atmosphere. Even the small village museum's 3D video was quite good, creating a great ambiance, and in the morning, you could see the iconic red star right outside your window!! And the best part? The hot spring was incredibly relaxing! Enjoying a barbecue in the misty mountains, listening to the rain while soaking in the hot spring… friends, it was indescribably comfortable!!
The owner and the manager were very kind, providing us with free breakfast. After breakfast, we immediately bought two jars of the same fermented bean curd online—it was so delicious, hahaha!
In short, a perfect recommendation, we will definitely go again!!!

GGuest UserI came to Mutianyu Great Wall for a night tour and wanted to get an early start the next day without being too tired, so I chose to stay here for a night. The service was pretty standard, nothing special. The front desk upgraded my room when I checked in, which I appreciate. The hotel's overall environment is really good, and the location is definitely a major plus – the cable car is right opposite, and the chairlift is just a little further up. However, the room's cleanliness and facilities were quite average. I didn't have high expectations for a hotel in a scenic area anyway. The duvet was a bit damp, and there were many dead insects. In the other room we booked, there was a loud sound like an animal running on the roof throughout the entire night. All in all, if you want a night tour and an easy early start the next day, this is a good option. The hotel restaurant's food was also pretty decent.

”If you come to Universal Studios, you can't go wrong with this place! The lady boss is so nice! She is warm and considerate, and she took care of us like family from check-in to check-out. The homestay is clean and cozy, and you can grill in the yard. I asked for two breakfasts, and the lady boss specially prepared a small portion of wontons for me because I was with my children. She is a super nice lady boss! I will definitely stay here next time~

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a nice concept or safari theme but somewhat under delivered. The pictures were nice but I think these are old pictures as it definitely needs upkeep or we think due for renovation and cleanliness of the surrounding needs more manpower. Pool is questionable and not inviting.
Plus side: Very close to the great wall you can literally walk about 1km away to the gate. And the nearby grocery is a cheap way to buy local gifts to bring home. However you are far from the main Beijing City as in more than 1 hour by taxi and 2 hours if you get caught in the rush hour of beijing cost which cost about US$20 one way.
The room is clean, big and decent for the price but really needs repair and I really question the security of the door as it was no secondary lock. The hot water is plenty, aircon is nice, internet is ok, soap is great.
Service: They are family run I think 3 or 4 people, they try to accommodate but unlike other hotels in China, they don't try to utilize tech to translate. I understand they are kinda old.
They don't automatically make up the room even though we stayed for 3 nights. so our garbage filed up. But we are ok with it.
They were waiting even though we arrived at 2am which we appreciated. And the iced coffee is nice.
Bad: Food maybe it is not our preferred taste. It is definitely not a buffet and we only eat once. You have alternative restaurants across the street or in the Great Wall commercial area but it is expensive.
So will we recommend it, maybe.

YYipinFacilities: The shower stall is incredibly small; you have to squeeze in, and if you're a bit on the heavier side, it might be quite difficult to get in.
Cleanliness: The cleaning was not thorough; long hairs were visible all over the floor.
Service: The breakfast service was completely impolite. The older gentleman collecting meal tickets at the entrance seemed utterly unsuitable for a service role in a hotel.
Nearby dining is mainly hotpot, and the food in general is pretty average.

It truly felt like a home away from home.

They were all incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. GGuest UserWe took our child on a last-minute trip and chose this hotel because of its nice environment. The experience exceeded our expectations. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, from the front desk to the room service staff – everyone was patient and attentive. I asked for an extra blanket and bed rails because I was worried about my child sleeping well, and they quickly brought them over. There were also many activities for children; my child did two kinds of crafts with the teacher in the morning and even baked pizza – they had a great time. They also have a large swimming pool with crystal-clear water, which the staff said was spring water. My child said it's a must-visit in the summer. There's also a newly decorated multi-functional hall with yoga facilities, tea ceremonies, and singing bowls – it's really quite nice. I was a bit skeptical after reading some reviews, but it wasn't as bad as some people said. There were indeed some insects in the garden, but that's part of the experience – it's about connecting with nature. Sitting on the swings and soaking up the sun in the morning was so relaxing. I also want to praise the tea the owner chose; the tea bags in the room smelled wonderful! 😃
