Golden Nugget Atlantic City

On the surface, Golden Nugget is a solid choice. Rooms are nicely sized, pool area is great, tons of restaurants and generally a good vibe. However, service is severely lacking. The front desk is a complete disaster. I had added an extra night last minute for the two rooms I had reserved, and it was booked as a separate reservation. I called ahead and was assured it wasn't an issue. When I arrived, the agents were extremely pleasant and also told us there was no issue and we were good to go. Come to find out when I was in the middle of working the next day with my do not disturb sign on, this wasn't the case. Housekeeping barged in and said I was supposed to check out. Funny enough, they never came back the next two days to clean the room. I called the front desk and got a completely rude and different tune than the night before. They had me booked in an entirely different room. They managed to fix that, but myself and my travel companions had to go back down to recheck in and get new keys. They had to leave the pool and I had to stop working while I was trying to wrap up so I could enjoy my vacation, to go fix this error. Had this been communicated at check in, I would have handled it first thing in the morning. Sean at the front desk was, at least, apologetic and gave us a few drink vouchers. I would have been happy if everything was resolved. I thought we were done with the problems at this point, but it didn't stop there. The next day when we went to the pool, my friend who went with me to check back in, wasn't on her room so they wouldn't let her in, even though I witnessed her give her name. We had to leave and go down to the desk to get her added. I then find out that my room was blocked from room charges when I tried to order drinks at the pool, even though they had run my card, and I have the $100 hold on my amex to prove it. A little while later, my husband complained to the front desk when he couldn't charge a few coffees, they assured him he shouldn't have this problem and it was fixed. He went back down, and the workers had to call the front desk to confirm, and they said he was authorized (and it was on my bill). Later on, I called for room service and ran into the same issue. I called the front desk to complain and they told me my card was declined (it wasn't) and I needed to come down to run the card at 11 pm, yet again. I told them I had cash, and I was simply letting them know how many issues I had. They said they were sorry, but it was somehow my fault that the card wasn't run. I've never checked into a hotel where my card wasn't in file. They don't even let you check in without a hold. To wrap up the experience, when I addressed the issue with the woman checking me out since I didn't know how I could have charges since I was blocked from adding any to my room, she saw there was a credit card listed that wasn't mine. I gave her my card to show her it didn't match, and to settle the bill. She brought out the hotel

The services at Bally's are exceptable. The front desk concierge that checked me and my husband in was very nice, professional and accommodating. The only downside was the pool is down for reconstruction; wish I was told beforehand.

Was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. They were working directly under our room at 8am on a sunday. Hammering and power tools and then the fire alarm went off and was told by the people in the hallway we had to evacuate. Was just a horrible morning. Consumers appreciate the fact that you want to improve your facility but please be mindful of your guests staying there especially on a weekend. The reason why we even stayed over night was to have a good nights rest after along Saturday evening. So it really was horrible to be woken up to banging and power tools when all I wanted was a good nights rest.

My check in and room were perfect by the absolutely lovely front desk woman who works 7pm when I checked in I wish I remembered her name… the very next day, I was overcharged $50 by a morning front desk employee who informed me they were “ sold out” and my “ only option would be to book through her” and she accepted 200 CASH “as long as I did the $25 deposit on a credit or debit card in my name”…. I was pressed for time and simply believed what I was being told in good faith as I’ve had never had an issue w a Hilton property over reservation charges and I am a Honors member for many years and much travel… suffice to say… I found availability for that night hours later when I had the time to review and attempt to book my third night…. Rooms were still(!) available online at rates lower that the 224 I was charged …. Third night I saved over fifty dollars by booking on Third party…. My suggestion is that prospective travelers Book Prior to stay and not reserve at front desk… this is common knowledge, but to tell me they were SOLD oUt and she was “ doing me a favor by extending my stay and allowing me to pay cash “( or perhaps ripping off both me and perhaps Hilton hotels ? I’m speculating on that… wish she had been accurate on my options if not outright LIE …. And I do not want to take Anything away from the great exp I had at check in ….the hotel is very comfortable without being modern in that way that NYC boutique hotels are… I find that sp**** mod look for hotel rather cold and pretentious…. Great smart TV w all access a clean room and all the amenities are what make this hotel a must if traveling to the area… just look thru Google hotels to find ur Very best rate .. and enjoy! I sure did! Thank u Hampton inn Neptune, NJ! Bari W Solo traveler

After a long flight from the UK we arrived to check in and were greeted by very friendly reception staff who asked us all about our trip, where we were travelling to etc, so we explained we were at the start of a roadtrip. We asked if our room rate included breakfast, it didn't, but the very helpful Nate said he wanted our trip to get off to a good start and gave us a voucher for breakfast. Was a lovely gesture, very welcome and the next morning it set us up for the day - thanks Nate! The hotel itself was fine, the room perfectly adequate. Our only issue was the family across the corridor. I think there had been a problem with their room so they were in the hallway making such an amount of noise which carried on inside the room. I believe several complaints were made as it was as though there was a party going on. Security came up a couple of times and it eventually quietened down. Just not what we needed at 11pm onwards after a long flight, nor I'm sure did anyone else.

I only had a one night stay, but I was a late night (11PM) walk-in and the woman who greeted me was very gracious and helpful. She set me up in a one bed (King) room which was very comfortable. The room itself was somewhat small, but the bed was large and comfortable; the mini-fridge was already running and cool for my drinks and leftovers, and the TV in the room was very nice with a wide variety of channels to watch. I woke up very rested in that giant bed and I had great pressure in my nice hot shower as well. All in all, a very pleasurable evening.

I expected a tad more for the money I paid here. I had thought Livingston - so more upscale of rooms...and I even paid for one of the newer rooms. It was clean and I appreciate that and I had zero noise at night so that was great. I was apprehensive upon check-in b/c when we parked, there was a guy smoking **** in his car next to us. On check-in they give you a waiver to sign - a very long waiver so I read it. Part of it was you had to request housekeeping the night before (no big deal) - but there was a very large section on parties. Zero tolerance for it and will be fined or even kicked out for multiple calls. I applaud that aspect but I started questioning why there was a long waiver for that. THEN, the guy said it's an extra $75/night (that will be refunded to you if you cause no trouble). Which set off red flags for me - obviously, they've had a lot of problems in the past. In the room - there is also a sign that if you smoke **** (or anything) in the room you're being fined. Now - all that said - we had zero problems - but also not too busy when we were there. The hotel is large and definitely can host weddings / conferences so this is one way for them to limit the noise violations - or smoking/drunkenness. Again - I applaud that b/c I want to be able to sleep at night. Overall - average hotel that I think is in a bit of a need of an upgrade.

Very welcoming great place to stay. There is a free dedicated shuttle at P4 Newark so do take it and not waste usd22 on an Uber. Next to it is a 200 store factory outlet which you can walk. The bus 115 goes to Manhattan MPA for usd7. Breakfast is good. But no eggs and bacon but IHOP is next door. Just ensure you have all your medicines and toiletries. There is no pharmacy or convenience store in the mall or hotel. There is also no food available at night so ensure you have bought snacks at night. There is a microwave. Service staff is sometimes friendly and sometimes not Just be patient.
