"★★★★★ I recently stayed at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu for 2 nights and 3 days during my trip to Nepal. To start with the conclusion, this is a hotel I would gladly stay at again. When I evaluate a hotel, I don't judge it solely on luxury or facilities. What matters most to me is how the people working at the hotel interact with their guests. Hotel Barahi Kathmandu was a very impressive hotel in that regard. From check-in to check-out, every staff member – at the front desk, in the restaurant, and from housekeeping – greeted me with natural smiles. It didn't feel like formal customer service because I was a 'guest,' but rather as if they were treating me as an individual. The hotel's location is also excellent. While it's within walking distance to the Thamel area, upon returning to the hotel, you find a calm space where you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city. It's a very convenient hotel for both sightseeing and staying. I also enjoyed breakfast every day. Beyond the variety of dishes, Nepali cuisine was also offered, which was great for a traveler like me to easily enjoy local flavors. On the other hand, there was noise in my room at night, and there was one day when I couldn't get enough rest. This was disappointing. However, what impressed me even more was the hotel staff's response afterward. They listened carefully to my concerns and addressed each issue without downplaying it. Their attitude conveyed a strong desire to 'improve the guest's stay.' During my travels, I pay close attention not only to the hotel's facilities but also to the people working there. No matter how grand the building, if the people aren't good, I wouldn't want to stay at that hotel again. Hotel Barahi Kathmandu was a hotel where I felt human warmth. Of course, there are always areas for improvement. But this hotel has an attitude of being willing to address those areas. That was of great value to me. That's why if I have the opportunity to visit Nepal again, I would choose this hotel once more. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all the front desk staff, restaurant staff, and housekeeping who kindly assisted me during my stay. Thanks to all of you, this hotel became more than just an accommodation; it became a part of my wonderful memories of Nepal. Thank you very much."

"Stayed here before my flight out of KTM. Free airport pickup and drop-off is a nice perk. The downside: I requested late checkout due to an evening flight, but it was refused and I had to pay half-day rate. That was frustrating. Positives: Housekeeping staff were helpful (quick with fresh towels and trash), restaurant food was tasty, and the front desk gave a warm farewell. Good for a transit stay if you don't need flexible checkout."

"An absolutely fantastic experience here! The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are clean, beds comfy and AC effective, with good showers and the full complement of hotel freebies (shower cap, soap, toothbrush, razor, 2L bottled water per day, tea and coffee, a fridge). The complimentary breakfast is also very good with a range of buffet options (good fruit!) and an egg bar (omelettes made to order, etc). My stay here has been great and I would love to stay again. When my airline changed my flights, extending by a day and getting a 5am taxi booked was no trouble."

"The hotel is located about a 10-15 minute walk from Thamel, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city center of Kathmandu. Its beautifully landscaped garden is a particular highlight. A minor drawback is the heavy traffic on the road to central Thamel, making the walk quite tiring. However, even if you don't venture into Thamel, the hotel's F&B offers relatively reasonable prices for the quality, and dining in the garden's outdoor seating area was a particularly impressive experience. It was a shame that the fitness center was under renovation and unavailable. The cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms were exceptional, even by developed country standards. Overall, I would rate this as a very good hotel."

"The room was clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was standard, and they made omelets to order. The front desk staff were friendly and even called a taxi for me. From the airport, a prepaid fixed-rate taxi was 600 Nepalese Rupees in May 2026. A taxi from the hotel to the airport cost 500 Nepalese Rupees. If you arrive at the airport at night, it's better to take a taxi. If you have luggage, a taxi to the airport is more sensible than walking (it would probably be a 20-minute walk with many hills)."

"The resort provides pickup service from the bus stop. Upon bus arrival, the driver was already on standby to bring us to the hotel. The room that we got was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable as well. Shower water was not strong but still useable. Having said that, the tv in the room wasn't working and should be fixed. The bidet water was also very weak and was leaking if we don't shut it from the source. The resort also has many options of safari tours. The chose the river canoe ride + bird watching + elephant breeding center as well as the jeep ride in safari. Mr Jagat who guided our jeep tour was the best guide one could ask for. He was patient to show us the animal and very knowledgeable. Lastly i would like to commend on every staff at the resort. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Despite there are some areas of improvements, i would recommend this resort for their excellent service. Additionally do go for their cultural dance show. It's worth it. Have fun and experience their culture. I love Chitwan and would recommend people to visit."

"I was very satisfied with my booking this time. It's located at the edge of Thamel, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle, a truly excellent location. The owner was incredibly kind and upgraded my room for free. The room was quite spacious, the bed was soft, and everything was very clean. The rooftop bar/restaurant was very chill. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied!!!"

"Lakhey Hotel is the best hotel in Kathmandu! The staff are super friendly, check-in is very easy, and they always help me get a taxi. They offered a welcome drink, which was lovely. The boss speaks excellent Chinese and even arranged a trek for me—very satisfying! Hot water is great, breakfast is delicious, and their Sichuan restaurant has amazing food (must try!). After my EBC trek, I stayed here again because I missed Chinese food. Location is nice, rooms are big—I stayed in room 1108 with a beautiful Kathmandu city view. Highly recommend to everyone.
