We had an offer from Strawberry with dinner which was really value for money. In addition to super service and food at the hotel, the city has an incredible amount to offer in terms of culture, food and drink experiences.. Charming city and hotel especially in the summer, but also all year round due to the mild climate.

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in July. It was newly renowated and we loved the interior. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were spaceful. The brekfast is not overwhealming big like in some hotels , but it has every thing you need to get a good start in the morning. I will definitivly choose this hotel for my next trip to Fredrikstad.

This is the second year running that we have stayed here and were able to get the same room which was very convenient as it has a fridge and a lovely view, very useful on a long stay of 11 days. At our suggestion a coat hook had been added and it shows that they do listen to the customers suggestions and recommendations. You can refer to our previous review of last year for more details but overall a very pleasant stay and the staff made you feel at home.

Paid extra for the superior family room, but was overall disappointed. Cleaning of the room was very poor, for example dustbunnies and dirt clearly visible behind smaller furniture. Long strains of hair on the towels. Month old food left in the minifridge. Tub unusable (no plug), clogged drain to the bidet. Breakfast was very small compared to Scandic standard. No assigned parking, not even for dropoff, and you get a ticket within 3 minutes ( = impossible to travel here as a foreigner, you dont know where to park, and if you go into the hotel to ask, you get ticketed). Reception literally didnt care about the parking/ticket. I understand that they didnt own the parking spaces around the area, but I would highly suggest to arrange a 10 min parkering space and/or provide info beforehand for their guests about the risks when coming here with car and how to park. When was provided with my feedback about the room they didnt even respond. The only good thing about the hotel is the location, if you want something close in the city of Sarpsborg.
