We have not been back here for over a year and got a newly renovated room on the 25th floor But guys, you can do better with the windows cos its all mouldy and unable to see clearly the beautiful view. Nonetheless, I was impressed by the efficient check-in/check-out process of the hotel. They allowed us to check in early, at about 1245pm. Their customer service is also commendable. The premium amenities with spa and wellness facilities offered us an excellent experience. (A separate price, just below Tower 2) We also loved everything about this hotel, from room types, customer service, and facilities to the serene pool area. I will recommend others for sure!

Its our usual hotel for our monthly shopping/makan visit in JB. love that we can go makan and shopping easily as the hotelnis connected to the mall. Now kinda bored with the breakfast but love the location.

We love the customer service attitude. Very friendly. They even give us chocolate and oranges during check-in since it is CNY. However, the location to us is a bit scary as we need to walk from the city square and walk pass a lot of migrant workers hangout streets at night. However, the good news is it is pretty near city square like 5-10 min walk. The staffs are very friendly and their room have smart TV, so you can deactive previous netflix account using TV setting and log in your own netflix account to watch movies. They also have a fully equip gym with free towels to use. The room is very spacious which we love it. Also ordering grab deliver is very easy too. They even setup a table for grab delivery to leave the order there for the guest to collect. We would love to come back again. lastly, there are wonderful night market just across the street that open pass midnight. So if you are a light sleeper, you might need to bring earplug.

Decent price. Good location. Can find eateries and convenience stores nearby within walking distance. But the hotel is surrounded by clubs and bars, so it doesn't look family friendly in my opinion. Booked sea view room, the room is very spacious, the view is great. The swimming pool is clean, there is small garden at swimming pool area it's nice. On the cons side: The hotel is quite rundown unfortunately, the standard is below the par from other Berjaya Group hotels. It could have looked grand with more maintenance and upgrading. The surrounding corridors to the room are gloomy with musty smell, lift has tobacco smell, the decoration and furniture are outdated. On the day I checked in and checked out time, there were workers cleaning the main entrance lobby floor with big pool of water, why they do it at this time??? Room cleanliness can be better. There were small flies in the toilet and the room itself. Furnitures like the tables are dusty, I had to clean them off with tissue papers. The toilet seat and the water tap head at the basin are a little flimsy though, had to use with extra careful, I was afraid it may fall off. Torn bedsheet at one corner. The room that I got at 14th floor is not really soundproof. At night, can hear loud booming bass noise from the clubs downstairs when it was time to quiet down for sleep, very annoying. Not an ideal place for a peaceful getaway. The room came with breakfast, but it was very basic. Don't expect much.

The hotel offered a comfortable and pleasant stay with excellent amenities. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests like extra pillows, towels and etc. The only issue was that the air conditioning in the room was not working, so we called the front desk, and maintenance was sent to our room immediately to check and resolve the issue. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has always been my go to hotel in JB if I want to be near to KSL. Room is big and clean. The only thing I want to mention is they don’t give any cotton bud , cotton pads and ear buds.  I got to stay at Room 1902 and am very happy that I can see the sunrise from my room window. And the seats near to the curtain certainly adds a fine touch as we can sit there comfortably to see the Sunrise.  Buffet breakfast was normal. However I noted that there were no tea bags available.  Carpark is free for hotel guests. Also, there is currently a 20% discount at Thai Odyssey if you show them the room card. It’s located on the 6th floor of the hotel.

The hotel needs a renovation and update with the interior. The room (Premier King) is very spacious but the space is not properly utilized. TV is very small. Wall scones are almost falling and sanitary wares are old. WiFi inside the room is okay. The aircon and mini bar fridge are old but still working very well. There were hairs in the bathroom when I checked in. For breakfast, the pancake (Jan 29th) and Apam Balik (Jan 30th) are very very delicious as well as the dimsum. The water melon however tastes like onion (Jan 30), I suspected it was the knife they use to cut the watermelon. The hotel has so much potential if renovated. I just noticed they are not observing safety as they are using the ledge in the corridors to make a temporary rack for towels and rugs while the housekeeping staffs are cleaning the rooms. These might fall on the atrium which might harm someone below.

Affordable Airbnb on weekdays. Weekends is a lot more expensive hence I think it is only worth it to stay on weekdays. They provide free Netflix on their TV but do not have toothbrush and toothpaste. Will be back if the price is cheap

The location is near KSL mall and is convenient. The window view is excellent and able to see KSL mall. The room is new and clean after its renovation. The breakfast was not bad.

The location is excellent, with easy access to Sunway Big Box Retail Park, X Park, and other attractions. The staff is friendly, and the check-in process is smooth. We had a fantastic stay at The Westin Desaru! The hotel’s impeccable service made our experience truly enjoyable from start to finish. We spent our time cycling around the area, taking in the beautiful coastal views, and later cooled off with a relaxing swim in the pool. The hotel also had great recreational options—we had fun playing ping pong and unwinding after. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a delicious spread with plenty of variety. Overall, a wonderful getaway with excellent amenities and top-notch hospitality. Would definitely return!

I recently stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru and had an overall pleasant experience. The hotel rooms were excellent—clean, tidy, and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. The facilities were great, offering everything needed for a relaxing getaway. The welcome drinks upon arrival were a nice gesture, setting a positive tone for the stay. The F&B outlets were equally impressive, with a good selection of dining options that I thoroughly enjoyed. That said, the breakfast spread, while sufficient, could be improved to better reflect the high standards associated with the Hard Rock Hotel brand. The reception staff were polite, but I felt they didn’t fully embody the signature Hard Rock hospitality vibe that sets the brand apart. Additionally, the check-in experience, while smooth and efficient, was quite ordinary and lacked the engaging atmosphere that would make it more memorable. Overall, my stay at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru was enjoyable, but with a few refinements in service and breakfast quality, it could truly elevate the guest experience to match the brand’s reputation.

The place was well maintained and cleaned. The food was good. The facilities inside were great for family. Just that it was too overly crowded. The check in process took almost 2 hours. We felt like we were at the government agency counter while waiting for the number to be called. It was not a good experience considering the amount of money we paid to book here. Everywhere inside also was super crowded. The waterpark was so full of people it felt anxious to be there. Too bad we could not get the access to the beach probably because of the monsoon season. Overall, we preferred Lotus Seaview rather than here.

Great service from the staff! Security guard was also attentive and assisted to direct us to an empty lot when the carpark was full. Will be great if balcony has a drying rack to hang wet swimwear. Breakfast was good with varieties. Convenient location near shops & eateries.

The resort was well maintained and beautiful! the hotel staffs were all friendly and welcoming. special thanks to Mira from the front office team. she was really accommodating and helpful when i asked for a room change because my room was really at the end and the view wasn’t what I booked for. I was travelling with young children and the view was quite depressing with a view of the carpark. after a few call exchanges, she provided us with a room change that was so much more beautiful and comfortable. we were all so thankful and appreciative for the help of Mira and probably her whole team. it made our stay so special. we will definitely come back again for our next trip to Desaru. breakfast was great, seriously our experience in this resort was one of the best in Desaru so far!

Pros ; Hotel provided guest parking in front of hotel. Clean and beautiful room but quite small for muslim to pray. Comfort bed and pillow. Got mini fridge in room. Ok bathroom with good rain shower. Good and tasty simple breakfast. All staffs were friendly and helpful. Appreciate it ! Cons ; The rate quite high for this hotel not provide iron and hairdyer in each room. Need to request. Only can watch TV3. Other channels were not clear. Please add more channels for guest entertainment.

1 of the best resort in Pengerang-Desaru beach front. The pool is very nice. Can shelter from hot sunny at the kids area. Nice beach cafe at night. Good & affordable restaurant seafood/masakan panas(halal). Got an affordable convenience store. Everything is there. Nice seaview room.

Reasonable price, good location near the beach, all rooms are facing the seaview & friendly staff, breakfast spread is quite good for the price. The facility is quite rundown, lack of maintenance - plants & landscape need to upkeep, turf with litters, aircon is very noise because air filter is choked with dust. Other nearby areas of interest are closed, Ostrich farm & Adventures park. If hotel wants to keep customers coming, they really have to take it seriously to upkeep the whole facility.

Staff at the front desk just okay. We booking for king bed but I believe it was just a queen size bedroom since we request for ground level as im pregnant. No lift provided. The interior was not very nice. The basic appliances were provided but the fridge is not functioning(not so cool) and not much space to set our foods and baby bottles etc.,. The worst was the smell from the sink (smells comes from the sewage) and need to open the exhaust fan all day long. Even i put soap the smell wont come off the smells comes from the drainage. It was bad i almost thrown up when opening the toilet door. I would not recommend staying here during monsoon seasons because we were not able to walk along the beach (the tide was high). The only thing i love were the environment of this resort (its so relaxing outside of the room) and the breakfast was superb. For dinner we went outside and eat at warung tepi futsal and the food were bad. The price almost the same as JB (quite pricey) even though JB still can get lower price.the staff at the pool counter was not friendly. His nails were so long and dirty . Not even smile at us. And answer our question smirkingly because we forgot our towel card.

The furniture and decor looked dated, which gave the room a somewhat worn-out feel. Cleanliness could also be improved as there were a few areas that didn’t feel as fresh as expected. On the bright side, the hotel offers full amenities, which was a nice touch. The location is definitely a highlight—there are plenty of eateries nearby. We enjoyed a delicious meal of lok lok at a spot just a short walk from the hotel. The owner of the lok lok stall was extremely friendly and provided great service, which added to our overall experience. Overall, the hotel could use some updates and a focus on cleanliness, but the location and nearby food options were great.

Service: The service was excellent. The receptionist was friendly and polite. I appreciated that they lent me the adaptor since I didn't wanna buy - got so many at home already Room: The room was spacious with a single sofa. While there was no bathtub, the bathroom had high water pressure and included complimentary toiletries such as shower gel, a comb, and a dental kit. The in-room amenities like Nescafé, Dilmah tea, sugar, and creamer were a nice touch. Bed: The bed was very comfortable with clean sheets, and the pillows provided good comfort. Room Smell: Upon entering the room, there was an unpleasant odor, but thankfully, it dissipated after a while. Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi was fast and free, which was a big plus for staying connected. TV Channels: The TV offered Malaysian channels like TV1, TV2, and TV3, as well as all Singapore channels. However, there were no Astro channels available. Location: The location wasn’t ideal for me. The nearest quality mall was Southkey Midvalley, while the local option was AEON Permas Jaya. Carpark: The car park was spacious and could accommodate both cars and motorbikes. However, it was quite dusty and would benefit from more frequent cleaning. Parking for motorbikes was free, which was a nice perk. 5-star hotel should have usb sockets on the wall

Great service. Our room is a lil bit small and don't have space for sholat, i request to change another room and the guys at the reception say Ok and help me. Really appreciate for it. The location is great and got pleanty of shop such as FamilyMart, Lavender & etc.

Nice hotel lobby with good location only hotel too old .Aircon not cold very fast change another room with us .but the room there is a musty smell. Only good also there is family mart 24 hrs beside hotel ,near Watson and many food stalls ,for family room is affordable,will stay again .we even have supper opposite hotel having Lok lok.the wifi also weak if wifi is good not bad to stay .

This executive room is bigger and cleaner (cleaner is just my personal opinion). The rooms are basic, minimal (as the name suggest) yet cozy, though the soundproofing could be improved, as some noise from the corridor was audible in certain rooms. While the hotel isn’t within walking distance to large malls, it’s quite conveniently located with a few coffee shops, convenience stores, and eateries just a 3-5 minute walk away. The hotel is also about a 30-minute taxi or Grab ride from City Square JB, making it accessible to major attractions. Overall, a solid option for those who value a good location and comfortable stay.

Location was closed to Mid Valley mall, we booked here for our weekends staycation. The check in process is fast and given room on 3rd floor #312 with window facing busy road. Unfortunately, the vehicle noise can be heard even window is fully closed. We can’t sleep too due to aircon not getting work with correct setting. Reception lady was very helpful in exchanging the room due to aircon not cooling after a moment of stay, it was free upgraded to family room on 2nd floor without window #217. We are both having a nice sleep and will visit again in the new future.

We came in the weekend, overall I think is good. Traffic abit busy, so will take a while to reach the hotel from jb custom. The room is Clean, normal. Some part of the room is spoil but it’s fine, doesn’t really affect us. Like their services, answers all my questions patiently

This hotel has 70+rooms. More than half of it are without window. The twin beds room seem alright. Its small but you get hair dryer, iron & board, kettle, 2 minerals water bottles. Working aircon and hot water. Able to watch free to air TV channels from Malaysia and Singapore. Free simple breakfast include coffee, tea, powder orange juice, milk, cereal, white bread w toaster, jam and butter, water melon, orange, cherry tomato, lettuce, baked bean, hot dog, garlic bread, fries, spring roll, mini pau, mushrooms soup, porridge, fried rice, noodle. Not enough, walk out to the coffeeshop behind the hotel, open by 7am. Indeed, its time to change their set of towels and bed sheets etc, WORN out. Need improvement on this area. Those pictures displayed on booking websites seem like computer generated imagery. Outdoor parking charges seem to be covered by the mgmt. This hotel very suitable for running errands between banks as there are MORE than 10 foreign and local finance houses along Molek Utama. Overall, happy to stay here again as the daily rate is attractive for what it offer currently.

i think it is a nice place to stay for rest as i went out from morning till night then came back to the hotel for rest. everything works well. the iron and iron board are at the walking hall of each level, then there’s also coway that you can refill in your jug that been provided by the hotel. there are also towels being provided to us.

Location and eatery are convenient. Room design is modern but toilet is inappropriate with the glass wall designed as a family room, except for some wear and tear and a cockroach to welcome us. Overall good stay experience and we even planned for next trip with Kyoto before we check out, until we met 10 Nov morning shift receptionist with attitude issue, and check out process is slow. Frontline service crew is important, what a ”good” start for my day while seeing the black face during check out.
