[With Large Public Bath & Sauna] Newly Built Hotel Opening August 2026! Approx. 3-min Walk from Matsue Station. 208 rooms in total, just a 3-minute walk from Matsue Station. Premium guest rooms incorporating the Japanese elegance of Matsue. We offer a superior stay with enhanced peace of mind and comfort—refresh your mind and body in our large public bath and sauna.

"✅ 3-minute walk from Shimane-Matsue Station ✅ Check-in is on the 2nd floor. There are three machines that can be used for check-in and also exchange for 100 yen coins. ✅ A small gift bag of slippers for children is provided upon check-in. ✅ Water bottles are provided in the rooms. You can refill your water bottle on the 3rd floor. There is also an unmanned vending machine on the 3rd floor with a microwave. ✅ Both men's and women's public baths have washing machines. However, the password for the women's public bath changes daily; please pick it up at the front desk. ✅ Public bath hours: 15:00-24:00 / 6:00-10:00 00 ✅ The front desk staff are all young and provide excellent service. Although their English isn't great, they are very friendly. If you speak English too fast, the staff might not understand you, so it's recommended to use a simple translator to translate it into Japanese and show them the screen. ✅ Check-in is at 2 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. If you want to check out before 2 PM, it costs an extra $1000 yen per hour. ✅ The hotel reminds guests to close the bathroom door when showering to prevent steam from affecting the smoke detector and igniting the fire extinguisher. ✅ The room rate is really cheap. I saw it on Ctrip. The room is 29 square meters. My room cost $79.19 and $91.20 per night. I once booked a room for less than $72 per night, but I canceled it. ✅ Overall, everything was great. The location is great, and the price is exceptionally high, except the pillows aren't very comfortable. 💠There aren't many places to visit in Matsue, so I recommend staying near the station. Even if you don't know how to use public transportation, you can take a bus from the station and back. It's really difficult to hail a taxi on the street. Uber exists, but you can never get one. In the sweltering 35-degree Celsius midday heat, it's unbearably hot! 😭 💠Staying in Matsue allows you to visit Izumo Taisha Shrine, the Adachi Museum of Art in Shimane, and even Yonago and Tottori."

"Very warm hotel, the traffic from JR Yuzao Hot Spring Station to the hotel is a bit inconvenient, but every time you make an appointment with the hotel in advance, you can send a car to pick up and drop off, the service is very thoughtful. The surrounding environment is good, if it is not too hot, I really want to go to the beach to see. I was fortunate to watch the local summer festival, which shows that everyone is very hard at protecting local cultural customs. Finally, I mentioned dinner. I stayed for two nights. The dinner was very exquisite, especially the dishes on the first night were very in line with our tastes, very good! !"

The location is also very convenient, just next to the station. I would have loved to stay more nights, but unfortunately, there was no availability. I really hope to come back!"

"This Showa-era business hotel is right outside Matsue Station's South Exit. The lobby is sunken, which might be a bit inconvenient for those with heavy luggage. The room facilities are quite old, there's no outlet by the bed, and power is activated by an old-fashioned key card system (or rather, a key). The large public bath on the top floor wasn't open, and the elevator is also very small. When you go out, you need to hand your key to the front desk, and when you return, you show a card with your room number to retrieve your key and meal voucher. They offer free breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a buffet with limited options, and for dinner, you can choose between a curry set meal or a daily Japanese-style set. All in all, for just over 200 a night, including breakfast and dinner, what more could you ask for? If it doesn't mind my budget, I won't mind its age."

"very nice! There is a Family Mart nearby and it is a short walk to Izumo Taisha Shrine and the Izumo Historical Museum! The receptionist was very nice. Dinner and breakfast were all buffets. They were delicious. The hot springs were very comfortable. However, there were too many people and I didn’t have the chance to soak in a private hot spring. There were also free ramen and kimono rentals. It was a good choice to go to Izumo Taisha Shrine~ It’s close to the Izumo tram station. It’s a little far away from the main shrine but the road is quite easy to walk!"

The room was renovated and very spacious, offering a direct view to the lake. Above all, the staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. Real Omotenashi ! We are fully satisfied with our stay. The hotel which sold most in TyuSikoku area in 2013. Mixed big open air bath and walking Japanese garden.

"Old and famous ryokan in town, with old and very nice Japanese garden with its own history. This hotel provide a very large outdoor public hot bath pond which both men and women could use together. Nearby the hotel is a drainage canal with cherry blossom trees along both sides made a wonderful view."

AANDREAS NUR JAHJAMatsue Excel Hotel Tokyu was our 5th hotel in this journey, and honestly, it set the bar pretty high. The location was hard to beat — right opposite Matsue Station, and it could be easily reached through an underpass, which was especially helpful when travelling with big luggage or during bad weather. One big surprise for us was the check-in experience. We arrived at the hotel at around 11.30am, fully expecting to leave our luggage and return later, but we were told that our room was already ready and we could occupy it immediately instead of waiting until the usual 3pm check-in time. It also seemed that they upgraded our booking to a Standard Double Room, which made the experience even better. Two thumbs up for this hotel. Even though we had booked a Standard Single Room, the space genuinely surprised us. The room came with a queen bed and was more than comfortable for two of us. We were able to fully open our large suitcases without feeling cramped — something that is not always guaranteed in Japanese hotels. The room layout was practical and well thought out, with a proper TV console and work desk with a chair, a single sofa with a small table, an air purifier, and a fridge. The TV model was a bit outdated, though it did not affect our stay. The bathroom was also spacious, with a proper bathtub that allowed us to stretch our legs comfortably after long days out. The bed was very comfy, and they provided two pillows for each of us, which made our sleep even better. Amenities and bottled water were provided at the lobby area, which we found convenient. We paid around SGD159 (JPY19,000) for two nights, and it was excellent value. Overall, it was one of the best hotels in this journey, and we would gladly stay here again.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located near Matsue station. The front desk agents were very polite and did their best to talk to me, despite my very broken Japanese. Guests are given a locker, protected by a keycard. The locker itself was good enough for me, who took only a conventional backpack and a pair of shoes, but might not be enough for those who are not traveling light like that. The bathrooms were shared and quite clean, fully furnished with amenities for showers and personal hygiene. WiFi was included and it was quite decent for general use, even when inside the shared bedroom. The bed capsule had a pillow and a blanket, lights and power outlets for phones. I had more space than I imagined, enough for me to sit on the bed. The only downside of this room type was air circulation, probably due to the hot climate that's been the standard here in Japan lately, but I think the fans could work more efficiently or the capsules could use an AC outlet. Other than that, I recommend this location and will certainly stay with them again.

GGuest UserThe facilities, including the room, were clean and had all the basic necessities, which was great. If I had to say something, it would have been nice if there were towels in the room to dry your hands, since if you take a towel into the bath, there will be no towels in the room.

GGuest UserNicely situated in the centre of one of the two main streets in Yunotsu. I stayed in the bottom capsule which is much more spacious than the top capsule since you get space to put your belongings. Kitchen was equipped with basic condiments like soy sauce and cooking oil. There is a coin laundry facility in the adjoining building - 500 yen for wash and 100 yen per 10 mins of drying. The only concern I had was with the check in process, which luckily for me I was informed about before by reading the reviews. Check in is at Kazeto, another hotel around 5 mins walk away from Watowa. This can be troublesome for guests arriving by foot as you’ll need to backtrack to Kazeto if mistakenly arriving at Watowa first. Staff at check in were helpful and friendly (English speaking) and provided ample information about the facilities and attractions in Yunotsu and surrounds.

GGuest UserI checked in in the evening, but due to construction work on the parking lot, I was redirected to a different lot. There was no explanation, so I didn't know how to get in and couldn't enter the parking lot. Also, there was no explanation when I checked in at the front desk, so I had to ask each time about whether breakfast was available, etc. The bath was also a little far away, so I went to get a ticket, but they simply told me it was across the bridge and that if I didn't know, I should look at the QR code. When I went there, I couldn't find it at all, and returned drenched in sweat without even taking a bath. I looked at the map at the front desk, but it was in a place I couldn't find without being told. One man at the front desk that night was awful, but the other man just ignored me and simply handled the paperwork. It was a terrible night. I was disappointed that even Kyoritsu had employees like that.

GGuest UserIt's a very small place. There are few young Japanese people. They are all local middle-aged and elderly people. The hotel staff can hardly speak English, but we can communicate smoothly by gestures. It costs about 50 RMB to take a taxi from the JR station to the hotel. There is no hotel email address when booking through Ctrip. It may also be that the hotel does not have it, so we can't contact the hotel to pick us up. We can only wait for an empty car at the station. When leaving, it is much more convenient to get a free drop-off. There is a drop-off schedule in the picture. Please tell the hotel front desk in advance.

GGuest UserExcept for the sense of distance of a little ”Busan wading”, everything else is quite good. JR was delayed that day. I got off Odada Station. I couldn't get a taxi and didn't find a hotel in advance. The two people walked three kilometers before arriving. It is best to order one berth and two meals, and it is enough to eat two meals a day. A little original animal crawls in occasionally, it is not a problem.

GGuest UserBecause the Jr time shift was not optimistic, it was forced to stay at Yitian Station. Fortunately, this is a relatively large station, and there is a hotel next to the station. But the house is full. The house said that you can see this one, very close. Check Trip.com there is a room, hurry up and book, hurry up and check in. I was very pleasantly surprised at the first sight, a bit of a MUJI hotel in Shenzhen. There is also a hot spring bath. Better than the hotel next to my original Mizi Station. Very fashionable design hotel. An accident, I licked Yitian and licked this hotel. Surprise during the trip.
