The room was clean, the environment was comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The toilet also had a washing machine and dryer available for use. Overall, the accommodation was good, but there was one thing I really disliked: the service. On the day of my check-in, the weather conditions across the entire island were terrible, with yellow and orange weather alerts issued. I couldn’t go anywhere, so I arrived at the accommodation at around 1 PM. Since the official check-in time was 4 PM, I asked if it would be possible to check in a little earlier. However, I was told that the room was “not ready yet.” Guess what? I ended up waiting in my car outside until 4 PM. During that entire time, I didn’t see a single person coming in or going out, and the place itself already looked neat and clean. I wasn’t asking for an early check-in just for the sake of it. Given the terrible weather conditions, I really had nowhere else to go. If early check-in is not allowed or simply not possible, I would appreciate it if you could just be honest and tell me directly instead of giving me the impression that the room wasn’t ready. The accommodation itself was good, but the service and the way this situation was handled were disappointing.

There is no reception or service at this hotel. There is a restaurant downstairs, but it was closed during our stay. They simply send you a code for self check-in. Make sure to double-check your room, as they initially gave us a different room from the one we booked, though they changed it quickly after we contacted them. One tip — visit Kirkjufellsfoss early in the morning. There is almost nobody there, and you can enjoy the whole mountain completely to yourself.

It was very good that there was a hot tub. Wi-Fi was not available in private rooms but available in shared spaces. The shared kitchen was clean and spacious. The bed linen table was not included in the inn fee, so I booked the linen after booking the inn. Please note that it will cost a plus. It should have been 1500isk per person. Also, I personally didn't like the shower room because it was not a private room but I had to go with other guests. I wish I had about one shower in the private room.

The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and they even prepared salt, pepper and cooking oil for us, haha! Such a thoughtful little detail! 😆 The bathroom was also spotless, and shampoo was provided too! The location was fantastic as well! There’s a supermarket just a 5-minute drive away, which made everything so convenient! Overall, we really couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Everything was just perfect, and we enjoyed every moment here! ❤️ Thank you so, so much for putting together such a beautiful and welcoming little cottage! Really lovely hotel. Everything great, only downside was the location. We hadn’t realised how far out it was from everything. Great for seeing northern lights but at least a 2 hour drive to lots of the popular sights.

The floor is warm, even though there are strong winds at night in the area, there is no one talking around. The sound of the wind is like natural white noise, and there are mini bar drinks, tea, and coffee included in the accommodation price. The service staff are very good, and the environment is very quiet except for natural factors. It is bright and clean, and the air is not cold at all

The last stop on our island tour, from Akureyri to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, was here. The hotel is located by the sea, far from any other towns or shops, yet it boasts breathtaking views. Rooms vary in size and price. The showers lack doors, making it easy for water to splash out. The hotel offers complimentary tea and coffee. There are no restaurants nearby; the hotel has a buffet dinner, but it's expensive and the food is mediocre. Breakfast is not plentiful, just enough to fill your stomach. The service was average.

This time I traveled with my friends and booked two adjacent wooden houses. It was already evening when I arrived at the hotel. I didn't expect to pack my luggage and looked out of the wooden house window. I actually had a beautiful pink sunset, and I instantly washed away the fatigue of all the journeys. And the real surprise is still behind! At four o'clock in the morning, we actually saw the dancing aurora in the sky outside the house, and this unexpected gift made us excited. Of course, this stay was also full of interesting ”episodes”. Who would have thought that the four of us worked together to scrub the rented car at the door of the wooden house for a long time? It also became a unique memory of the journey. Regarding the room, the interior of the wooden house is really not big, but it can be described as ”completely complete” and the basic needs can be met. The only inconvenience is that the luggage is not very easy to put, the space is relatively compact, and it is probably barely able to spread out two suitcases. Overall, it was a stay full of surprises and stories, and everything was worth it for the sunset and aurora outside that window.
