"Friends, please steer clear of this place! As a Courtyard by Marriott, an international chain under Marriott, they have issues with unauthorized and duplicate charges.
My prepaid booking already included the city tax, yet they insisted I pay it again upon arrival, which means I was double-charged. I only discovered this when I asked Trip.com to investigate other deductions after I returned home.
This hotel also charged me in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. I found out when I reviewed my credit card statement after getting back. When Trip.com followed up, the hotel claimed I used paid Wi-Fi. That's ridiculous! I used the free in-room Wi-Fi, which is explicitly stated on Marriott's official website and as a member-exclusive service. I have no idea what 'paid Wi-Fi' they're referring to. Furthermore, after I checked out, this additional charge was never presented to me at the front desk nor sent via email; they just quietly deducted the money. It's outrageous. When I checked in, I asked if my Marriott Bonvoy number could be linked, and they confirmed it could. However, when Trip.com showed me the bill, it clearly showed that my account wasn't linked. It's an absolute mess.
The room facilities and cleanliness were decent. But the service? It's so bad, it warrants a formal complaint."
