Xiuhu Plaza and Downtown
one of the Chinese guy was drunken and smoking on the floor where I was staying. The front called me they've got a complaint from my next door and asked me to not to smoke at 11pm. I felt very assaulted & complaint I was also the victim and I never wanted to smell smoking either. It was not a pleasant way to cope with. The overall location, cleanliness, and kindness were satisfactory considering the amount I paid.

Buyer Beware: If you reserve a Villa it is a shared accommodation! Make sure you buy two rooms to reserve the whole Villa yourself. This was not clearly marked at all. I would never spend $256 US Dollars to share a romantic evening with my husband and STRANGERS. As stated, I came to spend a romantic evening with my husband. Upon arrival I find that the living area of my villa is shared and there is a second room in the villa for strangers to live in! The TV, lounge sofas, refrigerator, clothes drying closet is all in the “shared area.” I am guessing you need to do rock, paper, scissors to see which room can use these promised room amenities at which times. I was fir sure that a villa would have a bath tub because the much cheaper rooms I had stayed in before had that simple feature! No the rub was in the room next door, which in all fairness, I was offered but would have had to sacrifice the view I had paid for! The shock of our experience did not stop there! When we tried to order dinner that night they told us they weren’t able to offer a full menu so they gave us the choice of three dishes that weren’t something that we would eat so we were not able to have dinner. As this place is very secluded, there was nowhere around to get dinner. We were glad that we had prepared a few snacks! Later that night about 9:30 they messaged us and asked us to choose noodles or dumplings for breakfast in the morning. We informed them that one of the reasons we booked was fir the Chinese/Western Buffet breakfast that came with the room! They said because they weren’t at full service they couldn’t give us that. We had to choose one of the choices. The problem is we called the morning before we came to make sure they were going to be open because we were escaping the typhoon in our area. They asked if we were sure we wanted to come because everything around was closed do to the typhoon. We told them that we were coming just to enjoy the hotel and they said that’s fine. They never told us they would not be able to serve our needs. So we drove over 4 hours to what was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience that sadly flopped! So many things that added up, like the stained comforter and the ripped bathrobes, the dirty smudged glass balcony door, that shouldn’t happen when one is paying this price just made it a really regretful choice! When we tried to make complaints to trip.com Supervisor Luna said that the hotel is not at fault, it’s okay for them to advertise a Villa and that it was my fault that I didn’t look at the room size. She also tried to tell me that my reservation didn’t even come with breakfast. However, when I made her check again she said oh that it just said breakfast not Chinese/Western Buffet. The breakfast problem had already been solved by the very helpful Victoria G. In the chat platform on the Trip.com app. But Supervisor Luna must have been having a very bad morning and thought she should take it out on me. In the end Trip.com felt that the hotel did nothing wrong but finally agreed to refund me $15 for breakfast. However, instead of refunding it to my credit card the trip.com always has, she thought she would make extra hard fir me to get my refund. Like going to a special link and putting in my bank information! Thanks Supervisor Luna for adding an extra layer of stress to this experience! Sorry you were out out and actually needed to do your job! I will add to be fair that the view and outside of the hotel is spectacular! I would have rated 5 diamonds if view was the only thing I was rating! It was beautiful!!

Xianlongxia Drifting
Overpriced family hotel with outstanding views but room for improvement. I reserved the room a week before arrival, which meant the room rate was almost 2000 RMB a night. At this price, I was expecting excellence and arrived to mediocrity. I travelled with a Chinese friend and when we arrived, although the room was booked in my name, they chose to speak to my companion. When I tried to speak, the staff smiled condescendingly and then continued to talk to my friend. I was surprised to receive xenophobic behaviour in modern China, especially since I can converse in Chinese and there are many translation and AI chatbots to assist with communication. We walked to the room and on inspection we discovered the door hinge was broken, dust and hair on the floor, hair on the mattress which was accompanied by a yellow stain (photos 3-7). As the staff couldn't communicate in English, I messaged Trip.com and decide to resolve the issues the following day. The staff had been informed of the poor quality of the check-in and the cleanliness of the room and offered to upgrade us to their sister hotel, Banshanyinzhu Resort. The view from the room (photo 1 & 2) was stunning and the room looked pristine how on inspection the room had not been deep cleaned since either its construction or refurbishment with dust in the high shelves, on the shower head, sawdust behind the bedhead, leftover building materials under both sinks (photo 8-11). We informed the hotel, as we had been given a WeChat, and they came to witness the simple inspection. They offered to move us again but as this was our last night and we chose to stay based upon the views and then went to dinner which the hotel offered as part of compensation for the previous night. Arriving at the restaurant, uncleanness was concurrent theme (photos 12-14) with the dishes not being clean and the lazy suzanne not being wiped down. Fortunately the completely meal for two was well portioned and seasoned (photos 15-18). After a filling and tasty meal, I had a shower and felt a slight pain on my foot to discover that the nails attaching the carpet protruded through and some flooring was broken causing a minor scratch. All of this could have been avoided had the staff been more diligent. Did I overpay? Yes Was the service mediocre? Yes Are these challenges easy to overcome? Yes Have other customers made similar complaints? Yes Will the hotel improve? I hope so Is the location memorable andbeautiful? Yes Would I revisit? Yes Regardless of the fact they have some untrained and unprofessional employees and they need to improve their cleaning standard and ensure that maintenance does a proper inspection after a fit and finish, the location is great and it's very easy to get into the park. It's very family orientated and I'm sure children could make lifelong friends here. If you're considering going, I'd highly recommend price watching. It's not a perfect product so don't overpay, like I did, and expect a 5☆ experience.

Xixi Wetland Park Area
Lovely hotel in the middle of West Creek/ Xixi National Wetlands Park in Hangzhou. The hotel and service offerings are excellent, located in a very secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle, great for relaxation and enjoying the serene and tranquil surroundings. There is a small lake in the middle of the hotel, which I understand is owned and managed by the hotel. The views are wonderful and better than going to the famed West Lake (way too touristy and crowded). I think this hotel has a lot going for it, even though it’s not a known brand. I would say some things for improvement are as follows: Must, must open a spa. AmanFayun, Banyan Tree, Anh Luh and Four Seasons all have spa’s and they’re at roughly the same price point. This wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but for some people this would put them off from booking here. Gym. This place needs an on-site gym for obsessed exercise freaks like me (and other health obsessives that want to go to an all-inclusive resort). Also, with the yummy high calorie food offerings in the restaurant, I would like to work those calories off and not worry about getting home fatter than when I left! Restaurant – Excellent service from the wonderful manager, who I forgot to ask her name and all her staff. Very good manners from all the staff, very quiet voices, barely can hear them speak amongst themselves. However there needs to be more of an international offering for people that visit from outside China (US/ Europe, India/ South East Asia/ Gulf countries, who all would probably stay here in the future). There should be another restaurant that offers international fayre, as well as the traditional Chinese restaurant, so both sets of visitors are catered for, and more choice is always good for people that stay longer than 3 days. And vegetarian/ vegan options would be very appreciated. The “Savoir resort” is not mentioned on Didi maps or on Baidu maps, and the Chinese name bears absolutely no resemblance to the English name 杭州所见 – 西溪度假酒店. Foreign people may have problems finding this location on their maps/ getting here without help (the less help that is required, the better). The two top-end rooms (6999 yuan a night and 15,000 yuan a night) cannot be booked on 携程 (Ctrip) or Trip.com. I think there should be 5 – 10 pictures on the site showing these rooms as bookable. I take a long time researching a hotel before booking, so the more information available, the better. The boat trip in the hotel is way better than the boat trip offered outside the hotel. I really enjoyed it, but I don’t think many people use it, which is a shame of a great resource. The fact this hotel has its own private lake is something that makes it stand out from the other hotels. PS , I cannot upload my videos of the boat trip inside the hotel's lake because the file is too big :'(

West Lake, Lingyin Temple Scenic Area
It was my first trip to Hangzhou. I wanted to celebrate my husband’s birthday here and it was totally impromptu. What I was looking for: 1) a closer location to the West lake - to walk there, not to ride; 2) a balcony or courtyard; 3) and/or at least a beautiful view and surroundings; 4) as we love tea and really interested in Chinese tea culture, some tea plantation nearby could be a plus! Not many hotels seemed to meet my requirements and those which fit were way beyond our budget. Xunzhenshe hotel looked very pretty but their description was not very clear. Anyway, considering that I was booking our room just a day (!) before our arrival on Friday night, Xunzhenshe seemed to be my only choice with just two rooms left. To be honest, I didn’t expect much when we arrived. However, from the beginning the service was outstanding with a personal approach. At the hotel they greeted us as we were VIPs. Celia, an English-speaking lady, who contacted me after my booking, was extremely helpful. She gave us few recommendations about Hangzhou and the area nearby. She showed us the tea plantation just next to the hotel and a room where farmers were drying tea leaves - it was quite short but interesting introduction to the hotel environment. The hotel itself is owned and managed by a former architect. The building was built based on construction principles of the Song dynasty. As I understand, all ground floor units have their own courtyard. There is a parking lot, a tea room and a restaurant at the hotel. We were given a non-smoking one-bedroom apartment in a quieter part of the hotel and could enjoy our morning tea in our small but elegant courtyard. The apartment was clean with all necessary amenities. There was a kitchen and a dining room with a huge table (we didn’t use this room though). The breakfast buffet was included in the rate, however they offered mostly Chinese food (no problem for us as we love it). Our dinner and breakfast food were delicious! Also, we so much appreciate totally unexpected birthday presents to my husband. Upon arrival he found a little gift with a touching handwritten birthday message and then birthday noodles were served at the restaurant. So, it was very unique and memorable celebration! After all, I was really happy with my hotel’s choice. To conclude what we loved the most about this hotel: 1. Attentive and caring service 2. Nature and beautiful surroundings 3. Very good location: just next to the West lake park and bridges. Walkable distance to the famous night show Impression and Su Causeway. Not far away to Leifeng pagoda and Longjing and Meijiawu villages. 4. Good Chinese restaurant with a terrace just next to the tea plantation 5. Amazing tea Me and my husband had a great time in Xunzhenshe. Highly recommend it to those who love places with soul.

Family stay with two kids 5 and 11. Location is fantastic due to being next to Glory Mall. Food options are plenty. In hotel hair salon is more useful than you think. The rooms are clean. Well equipped and beds are comfortable. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the best. You won't be able to stop eating. We would look forward to coming back. It's hard to leave.

Beilun Yangsha Mountain/Wanren Beach Scenic Area
When we checked in, we were not told that there were no items provided (we stayed at the World Trade Hilton the day before and everything was provided). When we arrived at the Chunxiao Hilton, there was nothing. After playing for a day, the elderly and children went to bed first, and they used their own toiletries. I didn’t find that there were no necessities such as a toothbrush. When I was about to brush my teeth at the end, I found that there was nothing. I called the front desk and told me about the plastic restriction order. I would only give it to me if I asked for it. Okay! It's about 12 o'clock. Instead of gently knocking on the door to deliver it, a robot calls the room. At 12 o'clock in the middle of the night, the whole family except me, the elderly and children are all asleep! Being woken up alive, the old man has a bad heart and cannot sleep well, and it will be difficult to fall asleep afterwards! ! As a five-star hotel, I really don't know what the service is? ? Do you do things without using your brain? ? Shouldn't we be informed in advance that we don't have these necessities like a toothbrush? ? I went to check it out later and found that there was only a small sign on the far side of the front desk, and check-in was done at a counter in the middle! ! It really affects your rest while traveling! ! I hope the hotel can pay attention to it. It is not easy to bring the elderly and children out during peak hours! But we salarymen only have this time to come out! ! Can we understand each other when doing things? ! ! What if the old man had a heart attack yesterday? ? Today I didn’t have a good rest yesterday, so I didn’t even go on the morning schedule! Sleeping in the room! ! well! No comparison, no harm! Hilton in Chunxiao is so bad! A very unpleasant stay experience! !

Donggang / kaihong square / putuotiandi
The hotel's epidemic prevention is still relatively good. Because it was from Shanghai, it prepared a nucleic acid report 48 hours in advance. The hotel checked the nucleic acid report, green code, and itinerary code, which is quite reassuring. The front desk has upgraded the executive room with a bonus executive lounge. The room has a side sea view. You can lie on the bed and watch the fireworks at night, but you can't see it in Shanghai. Except that the elevator is a bit noisy in the morning, everything else is good. Breakfast is average, holiday ends at 11, Omelet is too old, but has bak kut teh and seafood noodles not to be missed. When we checked out, Steven asked us about our stay and explained the reason why the Putuo Mountain Temple is not open to the public. We can understand it. After all, it is all for the Buddha. It is also a 10-minute drive to the pier, and it is very convenient to eat around. Bye bye summer
