I initially overlooked the peeling paint on the walls and the lack of disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste when I checked in. But then, at breakfast, I picked up a small steamed bun, and as I took a bite, I saw mold spots... that's just unacceptable! The chicken also tasted sour, which is something I absolutely cannot tolerate!

Mr. Lin Feng was verrrrry kind!! One of our friends lost her phone and he helped us a lot finding her phone!! The hotel was really clean and the location of the hotel is amazing. It’s right in the middle of the every place where you should visit in Shanghai. It was awesome!!

Over 20 years ago, I watched the Jin Mao Tower being built, becoming one of Shanghai's iconic landmarks of that era – truly a golden age of economic growth. This time, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Jin Mao (I remember it used to be called Jin Mao Hyatt). From the ground floor entrance to the lobby on the 54th floor, it exuded old money charm. The staff were well-trained and professional. The facilities in the room had a vintage feel, and the fully transparent washbasin was a pioneering design for its time. Standing by the window, I could clearly see the distant IFC, Oriental Pearl Tower, and the Bund architectural complex across the Huangpu River. It happened to be Christmas Eve, and both inside and outside the hotel, there were beautifully decorated Christmas trees. There were many foreign tourists coming and going, and everyone who visited seemed to genuinely experience the charm of Shanghai.

A top-tier luxury experience on the Huangpu River, Pudong Shangri-La truly lives up to its reputation! Choosing Pudong Shangri-La for my Shanghai trip was a fantastic decision; from check-in to check-out, it was filled with pleasant surprises. It truly deserves its status as a benchmark five-star hotel in Shanghai. The hotel's location is absolutely superb, nestled in the heart of Lujiazui. It's within walking distance of iconic landmarks like the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower, and right next door to Super Brand Mall, offering a one-stop solution for shopping and dining. Metro Line 2 is also just a stone's throw away, making it incredibly convenient for both business and leisure travelers. What truly captivates is the unbeatable river view. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the guest rooms offer panoramic vistas of both banks of the Huangpu River. By day, you can admire the elegant Bund architectural complex, and by night, the dazzling Lujiazui skyline. Every photo taken effortlessly looks like a cinematic masterpiece.

I highly recommend this hotel and was very impressed with my stay. The breakfast was wonderful, especially the stir-fried vegetables, which were delicious. I would like to give special thanks to Iris Zheng for her excellent care and for arranging a very comfortable room for us. The housekeeping staff on the 7th floor also provided outstanding service. If we return to Shanghai, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Location- walking distance to the NJ shopping district. (Easy to navigate, 10mins slow walk) Staff- Very helpful with luggages, parcel locate. Service recovery was prompt- room had ventilation issue. Service man came once in the day, and reassured us it’s normal. However comparison to our friends’ rooms, air flow was different. We called service desk at 11ish, despite an aloof response from a female staff, the guy who later attended was prompt to offer a change of room immediately on checking out the situation. I requested for assistance for our friend who has fallen ill with their luggages, they were able to assist. Space- very spacious. Hotel has affiliated transport company- transfer to airport was cheaper than Didi and ride was comfortable. Setback: Flight of stairs up the hotel lobby. Not easy to climb for elderly or those with leg issues. Toilet area is open concept. When dressing, can be inconvenient if traveling with friends.

Highly recommended. Mr. Li provided outstanding service throughout my stay. He helped me with multiple things, including changing rooms and finding items I needed. My Chinese isn’t very good, but he always listened carefully and communicated in a way I could understand. What impressed me most was that he assisted me right away even at midnight when I needed to change rooms. He genuinely gives his best to every guest. The hotel does have a few minor downsides and some facilities were a bit broken, and it’s slightly far from the subway but the excellent service made my stay truly memorable.

The front desk service at Kempinski perfectly embodies the quality of a five-star hotel! I accidentally booked the wrong check-in date before departure. When I contacted the Lady in red Eva in advance to communicate, she patiently verified the information, actively helped coordinate the change, and maintained a gentle attitude throughout without the slightest impatience. Upon arrival, she even took the initiative to upgrade me to a higher-floor room. She explained the room facilities in detail and comprehensively, even going through each free drink in the minibar one by one. Later, when I wanted to book the hotel's fitness center, front desk staff Mia immediately helped confirm the reservation and informed me. From the pre-arrival communication to check-in and check-out, I experienced professional and thoughtful service at every step. The professional quality and service awareness of the staff are worthy of praise. I highly recommend it to every friend visiting Shanghai!

This was my first time in China. Before arriving in Shanghai, we visited Hangzhou and Suzhou. The Mercure Shanghai was by far the most comfortable place we stayed. For the first two nights, the guests next door were playing mobile games all night, not sleeping and banging on tables. When we spoke to customer service, they immediately arranged a room change for us. They even helped us move all our belongings and luggage, so we could just relax when we got back. There's also a washing machine and dryer on the second floor, which is super convenient. Another thoughtful touch is the complimentary simple late-night snack available in the evenings. The bathroom even has a bidet! I'm so satisfied! Oh, and the hotel also offers a free shuttle bus that can take you to the subway station, Yu Garden, and other places. I'm incredibly pleased and will definitely stay here again next time.

Excellent hotel, very well-managed, and the service is great. The facilities are complete, it's very clean, and the environment is elegant. I'm extremely satisfied, five-star rating, haha! The hotel breakfast is very rich, they even have steak, awesome!
