"Zhangye was our third stop on our Gansu trip, and for me, picking the right hotel is always top priority. I splurged a bit on this one in Zhangye, and it definitely paid off – I was really happy with it! The service made us feel right at home. The laundry room was huge, and we could wash and dry a load in just an hour. Breakfast had a great variety, and both the noodle and pastry stations offered really fresh options. They even gave us a small gift when we checked out, and brought fresh fruit and yogurt to our room every day. A truly recommendable hotel!"

Hotel near Tianshui City Square,Tianshui
It may not be green mountains and clear waters, but it may also be the dim lights, slowly savoring the fireworks in the Qingwaguan Lane. This homestay is located in the courtyard of No. 4 Xinmin Lane in Tianshui Ancient City. It is close to the central square of the ancient city, with a comfortable environment and convenient transportation. The homestay is decorated mainly in log style, with exquisite woven accessories, and the room design is ingenious, with both traditional classical charm and modern comfort. Whether it is a spacious and bright twin room or a warm and romantic double room, you can feel the warmth and comfort of home. Here, you can unload all your fatigue and enjoy a quiet and comfortable life. When night falls, sit in the yard, cook wine and fry tea, and look up to see the stars, as if time has slowed down, making people forget the troubles of the world. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Fuxi Temple. The central square and Haiying Malatang are a 10-minute walk away, with convenient travel, welcome to you!

"The location is inside Tianshui Ancient City, a bit hard to find. Breakfast is a collaboration with the shop next door, only available from 8 AM, which is different from the information provided here. The room's screen mirroring works fine, but there are constant ads… The room doesn't have a key; it has a combination lock, so you don't have to worry about only having one card for two people. The front desk provides many free small items that you can use. The downsides are that if you stay on the first floor, you'll hear noise from outside, and if no one is at the front desk during check-in, you'll have to wait."

Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
The Silk Road Dunhuang Hotel (Dunhuang Shanzhuang) is the most luxurious accommodation option in town. Located just outside of town, this hotel has a large range of rooms from standard to suites and villas.A little inconvenient for travelers interested in spending most of their time in downtown Dunhuang, the hotel does have plenty of amenities and entertainment rooms to keep their guests entertained. There is a shuttle bus that runs to and from town.

"We stayed two nights in Dunhuang. The first night was at a hotel by the Dang River, which claimed to be the only five-star hotel in Dunhuang. The experience was absolutely terrible. The second day, we checked into Dunhuang Villa. The hotel is like a border fortress, with a lobby in a Western Regions style. The concierge helped with our luggage from the moment we entered, accompanied us to our room after check-in, and proactively informed us about the benefits we could enjoy and gave us sightseeing recommendations. We booked a twin room. It wasn't large, but it was very clean, and the disposable amenities were all of good quality. The bedding was comfortable, and most importantly, it was incredibly quiet. I slept exceptionally well. Upon check-in, we received two coffee vouchers for the Star-Gazing Pavilion on the 4th floor, as well as a yogurt doll. You absolutely must use the coffee vouchers! Once you get to the 4th floor Star-Gazing Pavilion (where breakfast is also served), you'll be treated to the incredible view shown in the picture – it's absolutely stunning! The hotel's location is very close to Mingsha Mountain, a 2-minute taxi ride away. Taxis in Dunhuang are very convenient and inexpensive. Additionally, the hotel's Chinese restaurant is also excellent. There are two options: a hot pot buffet (62 RMB/person) and à la carte (Northwest cuisine). The prices for the dishes are slightly higher than in the city, but the ambiance, service, and taste of the food are all superb! We will definitely stay here again on our next loop trip!"

Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
"I'd always wanted to experience an overnight desert stay in Dunhuang, and after comparing the crowded campsites within Mingsha Mountain, I ultimately chose Shazhou Wilderness Luxury Camp. The overall experience far exceeded my expectations. The camp is located in a private desert hinterland, so there's no need to jostle with other tourists. The entire stretch of dunes and dried wood photo spots were ours to enjoy. We had unobstructed views of the sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening, creating an incredibly atmospheric experience. We booked a tent room, which was incredibly picturesque. The interior space was sufficient, with a dry/wet separated bathroom, 24-hour hot water, air conditioning, and a refrigerator – all fully equipped. The bedding was clean and free of sand, and the toiletries were comprehensive. It's truly rare to find such living conditions in the desert. The camp offers its own activities, so there's no need to flock to scenic areas: The UTV desert off-roading was incredibly thrilling and exhilarating. The large, gentle slopes in front of the camp are perfect for free sandboarding, and sand-digging tools are provided free of charge, keeping children entertained for an entire afternoon and giving parents a break. I must especially commend the butler service. We had one-on-one assistance throughout our stay. Before check-in, they sent us directions and important information, and they were always available if we had any questions. I accidentally lost my iWatch en route, and at 3 AM, the butler drove me back into the desert to retrace our steps and search for it. They went through a lot of trouble, and I felt incredibly bad for them. They were also very responsive to everyday requests, quickly bringing water, extra blankets, and props. With children in tow, the entire stay was worry-free."

Hotel near Lanzhou New Area,Gaolan
"Huge thanks to Manager Zhang for calling us, to driver Qiao for picking us up at Gate 11 of the airport terminal, and to Manager Wang at the front desk. This is a truly unique hotel. Even before we arrived, they were already reaching out. While we were still on the high-speed train, a call came through, asking about our flight arrival time. I mentioned we were coming by high-speed train to Zhongchuan Airport East Station and wondered if they could pick us up. Manager Zhang replied, 'Yes, a driver will contact you.' Manager Zhang asked for our train number and arrival time. Sure enough, less than ten minutes later, a text message arrived from the telecom company, directing me to Gate 11 of the terminal's arrival exit after getting off the train. Mr. Qiao, the driver, clearly specified the car's color and license plate number. As I was typing a reply, Mr. Qiao's call came in, again confirming his parking location. Since we mentioned we were an elderly couple, Mr. Qiao politely asked about the color of our clothes. My husband and I exited Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport East Station, took the escalator, and quickly found Gate 11. Just as I was about to call, Mr. Qiao walked up to us, greeted us politely, confirmed our identities, helped us with our luggage into the car, and assured us that someone would take care of our bags upon arrival at the hotel. Once the car stopped, Manager Zhang warmly and proactively took care of us, carrying our luggage into the lobby and then all the way to our room. As soon as we entered the room, the housekeeping staff delivered fresh fruit. The next morning, our airport transfer was scheduled for 7:30 AM. Our principle is to avoid inconveniencing others, so we always arrive earlier than the scheduled time. By 7:15 AM, we were downstairs, completing the check-out process at the front desk. Manager Wang (I believe she's a manager, though we didn't see her title on her nametag, only her surname Wang) told us to eat breakfast before getting in the car, and she would let us know when it arrived. I replied that we hadn't booked breakfast, as our flight was business class, and we'd eat at the airport. She insisted, 'It's fine, have a little something.' She then arranged for us to sit down, asked if we wanted milk or millet porridge, and personally brought us two cups of milk and two bowls of porridge. When the car arrived, she again escorted us to the car, helped with our luggage, and ensured it was safely stowed. I mentioned there was a type of fruit we hadn't seen before. She packed a few for us in a food bag and told us its name and how to eat it. We've encountered hotels that call ahead to inquire about arrival times, but never one with such meticulousness and such seamless coordination with the driver. We've had drivers pick us up from stations and airports, but never one as thorough and enthusiastic as Mr. Qiao. We've met lobby managers, but never one like Manager Wang, who treats guests like family. This is a truly special hotel. This is also a hotel with culture. It features a cultural promenade, not just a few thick books for decoration or blatant tourism advertisements. Here, you'll find sculptures and paintings. On the third-floor elevator landing, there are shadow puppet-themed artworks. These art pieces showcase the history, culture, folk customs, and art of Gansu. I shared photos of these artworks with my students, and we discussed Gansu's history, culture, and geological features on WeChat. They all agreed that very few hotels nationwide focus on cultural taste. This hotel truly is a culturally rich hotel. **Facilities:** Very new, all equipment works perfectly. **Cleanliness:** Excellent. **Environment:** Very close to the airport and Zhongchuan Airport East High-Speed Rail Station. The shuttle takes only two or three minutes. From our room, we could see the airport main building and control tower, and observed aircraft taking off and landing, yet there was absolutely no noise. Due to light rain, we didn't explore the surroundings. **Service:** Outstanding. My husband and I are grateful to all the hotel staff."

"I originally chose this place because it's within a 15-minute walk to the middle gate of Mingsha Mountain, and for just over 300 yuan a night, you can see the stars. It exceeded my expectations, so I had to write a proper review! P1-3: The room was very clean, with no unpleasant odors. The skylight for stargazing was as big as the bed, and sunlight streamed in when it was open! The TV was a Xiaomi, and the toilet and shower were all in great condition. I saw the Big Dipper from bed at night—absolutely amazing! P4: The guesthouse is family-run. At noon, I heard the owner's mother calling ”Lunch is ready!” Since I was traveling alone, the hospitable owner invited me to join them. So, we all squeezed together at the table, chatting and laughing, and the moment reminded me of many tranquil and beautiful movies. P5-7: Because it was before the May Day holiday, the guesthouse wasn't busy, and I was invited to try the food and have a barbecue at the Western restaurant near the entrance. The owner took me to the market to have freshly cut Aksai lamb! PS: The Western restaurant was delicious!! You can tell from the pictures! P8: After returning from Mingsha Mountain in the evening, seeing the room door was truly therapeutic! INFP understands! I highly recommend this guesthouse. Firstly, the accommodation is very comfortable, and secondly, it was a long-lost relaxing and warm experience for someone like me who's been working like a dog for so long!"

"The luckiest thing about Zhagana is to book this one! The boss locals are particularly real. Before moving in, they carefully send out play guides, recommend niche hiking points, and remind the plateau of precautions, and the whole process is enthusiastic and thoughtful. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft, 24 hours hot water, and the Tibetan decoration was warm and not depressing. The location of the homestay is excellent. You can punch in the observation deck without walking far. You can see the continuous mountain and the mountains and clouds in the bed. It is surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the mountains and the mountains. It cures all fatigue of the journey. It is highly recommended!"

Hotel near Olympic Sports Center/Lanzhou Old Street,Lanzhou
The hotel is located in the center of Lanzhou city and is a high-end hotel in the old Lanzhou street scenic area. The hotel is well-located and has convenient transportation. It is located in the financial and trade center of Lanzhou City, the new city center Qilihe Ma Tan area, and is adjacent to the city's central avenue Xijin West Road. It is within walking distance of the Metro Line 1 Ma Tan Station. Lanzhou Old Street Puyan Hotel is a high-end hotel brand under the Luxury Collection Group. The hotel is about 10 minutes' drive from Lanzhou West Railway Station and about 50 minutes' drive from Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport. Puyan rooms are high-end and luxurious, with dining and banquet services in one, and the hotel provides free parking and free bus parking. It is an excellent choice for guests and business trips.

"This hotel is located in Lanzhou Old Street, offering a quiet retreat amidst a bustling area. We were upgraded to a quieter room, which really made for a comfortable night's sleep. The facilities are good too; it would be even more convenient if there was a coffee table to place things on. What truly impressed me the most was the hotel's service. All the staff members were warm and friendly, including the cleaning aunties, who provided timely and attentive service. They even thoughtfully prepared a 'cheer-up' kit for us participants of the Lanzhou Marathon, which included various snacks, cooling patches, and band-aids – something I've never encountered before! There was also a special backdrop in the hotel lobby, showing how much effort Lanzhou as a city put into making this event a success. It was truly touching. The hotel is conveniently located less than a 10-minute walk from Matan Metro Station, with plenty of bus routes nearby. I really enjoyed Lanzhou Old Street; it has everything for dining, lodging, and entertainment. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Lanzhou."

VValarie474A Princess Treatment Stay in Zhangye From the moment the hotel staff picked me up at the train station, I have received nothing but princess treatment. Whether this is standard or something special because I'm a solo female traveler in an area that doesn't see many foreigners outside of tour groups, I genuinely don't know. What I do know is that I felt looked after from start to finish. The arrival set the tone. A friendly staff member was waiting right at the train station exit, and the ride to the hotel was barely five minutes. I ended up on the top floor with a mostly unobstructed mountain view, and on a clear day you can apparently catch sunrise and sunset from up there. My room is enormous for one person. Two full bathrooms, a separate living room, separate bedroom with an additional couch. The little touches genuinely surprised me: a real sewing kit (not the sad three-thread version), a loofah, nice lotion, a plastic liner for the tub, cute slippers I may have to ”accidentally” pack, shower shoes, multiple teas, and a pod coffee maker. Speaking of the tub liner, it came paired with a sachet of ”red wine bath liquid” in this blood-red color, and combined with the plastic sheeting the whole setup gave me serious Dexter vibes. IYKYK. Slightly disturbing, completely awesome. Free laundry down the hall on my floor with washers, dryers, and soap provided. The breakfast spread is plentiful and genuinely good, tons of dishes, real variety. The one issue during my stay was the climate control. My room hit 28°C and I called down for help. They sent an army of staff. When they realized moving me wouldn't solve anything because the issue affected another room too, they rebooted the system instead of just shuffling me around. By the time I finished dinner and used my included dining credit, my room was cool and comfortable. That's not just good service, that's good problem-solving. They adapted, communicated, and fixed it properly. The staff deserves their own paragraph. Reception and the kitchen team were complete standouts. Everyone was gracious and warm, and the ones who spoke English did so beautifully even though they kept apologizing for it (they really shouldn't have, they were great). There was a moment at check-in when two excited staff members brought me up to my room and we all forgot the room key in the lobby. One of them ran back down to get it while we laughed about it together. That kind of warmth you can't fake. And it isn't just the front of house, there doesn't seem to be a moment when somebody isn't cleaning something, whether it's the windows, the chairs in the outdoor seating area, the bikes available for guests, or the koi pond. This hotel is genuinely well taken care of by its staff and ownership, and it shows. I didn't get to do everything I wanted to in Zhangye, which means I'll be back. And when I do come back, I'll be staying right here. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place.

GGuest UserThe boss was very enthusiastic. I contacted him one day in advance and waited for us at the station early the next morning. The accommodation was close to the East Gate. We said we were going to Crescent Lake and Mingsha Mountain. The boss took the initiative to drive us to the Middle Gate, saying that we could save 20 yuan on the shuttle bus fare. The next day, we signed up for a tour group to go out and play. The boss also sent us to the boarding point early in the morning. The boss was afraid that it would be inconvenient to go back after the Crescent Lake Music Festival, so he also came to pick us up, making our travel very convenient. The accommodation environment is also very good, and the steamed bun for breakfast is particularly large.

HHuangqijinqiangyuI brought my parents, who are in their 70s, to visit Maiji Mountain. The hostess was incredibly warm and attentive. After arriving at the North Gate 1 of the Maiji Mountain scenic area, we just made a call and she came directly to pick us up and take us to the guesthouse. The room was spotless, not a speck of dust anywhere. For dinner, we had mushroom stew with free-range chicken and stir-fried wild vegetables – truly delicious! 😋 The next day, she dropped us off at the entrance of the Maiji Mountain scenic spot at 7:30 AM, so we were the first ones to go in at 8:30 AM. After our visit, we saw a super long queue had already formed outside. Afterward, we took a taxi to explore Xianren Cliff and Jingtu Temple. Finally, the hostess even drove our luggage to the Line 34 bus stop to drop us off. It was a truly perfect day, so relaxed and easy. We avoided the crowds in the morning and didn't have to wait in long lines, making for a 10/10 visiting experience. Huge thanks to the hostess for the pick-up and drop-off service!

GGuest UserThe newly renovated room was incredibly stylish. The desk and partition were integrated seamlessly, and the sink, bathtub, and toilet were all separated, providing excellent privacy. I particularly loved the washbasin's unique material – water drops created a lovely chime. A room of this size in Japan could easily be two separate units! The mini-fridge was very handy for storing food, which was a lifesaver for our early 8:45 AM slot at the Mogao Grottoes Digital Center. The outer walls were 48 bricks thick, providing great earthquake resistance and insulation. They also had all the amenities, including a smoke escape mask, razor, and bath liner. The pick-up and drop-off service was an added bonus. The 9th-floor restaurant terrace offered fantastic views. A special shout-out to Xiaodai, who arranged our airport pick-up. After booking our flights and hotel on Ctrip, I confirmed the pick-up with the hotel. On April 2nd, flying from Chengdu to Lanzhou, then Lanzhou to Dunhuang (with a stopover in Jiayuguan), our flight was delayed three times due to strong winds. Xiaodai kept in constant communication with me, even confirming again when we were pushed back and taxing in Jiayuguan. We finally arrived 4 hours late. The moment I turned on my phone after landing, I received a message from driver Mr. Wu, who picked us up smoothly and got us to the hotel. Following Xiaodai's advice, we left at 7:50 AM for the Mogao Grottoes Digital Center, making it to the 8:45 AM first show. We then successfully got tickets for our desired special grottoes and visited all the open areas of the Mogao Grottoes. On April 4th, I went to the front desk to ask about the bus to the airport and happened to find Xiaodai on duty. She told me they could arrange a drop-off. When I gave her my room number, she recognized me from our earlier pick-up arrangements. My interactions with Xiaodai showed me the hotel's excellent service, with attention to every single detail. If 10 is the highest score, I'd give them a 12. Dunhuang is a place you'll want to visit more than once or twice.

AAoife ShanleyOf course! Here is an extremely positive hotel review crafted from your experience. --- Title: An Unforgettable Oasis of Hospitality - A Solo Traveler's Dream! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot recommend this exquisite home stay highly enough! My five-day visit was nothing short of perfection, from the moment I arrived until my warm departure. As a female solo traveler from abroad, safety and welcome are my top priorities, and this family went above and beyond to make me feel like part of their home. My journey began with a incredibly gracious complimentary pick-up from Dunhuang airport, which immediately eased any travel fatigue. The hospitality only blossomed from there. The host family provided me with such genuine individual attention, offering personalized advice for visiting the breathtaking Crescent Moon Lake and the awe-inspiring Mogao Grottoes. Their tips were invaluable and helped me experience these wonders to the fullest. Now, the food! Each meal was a delight—authentic, home-cooked, and prepared fresh with so much care. It was truly delicious and gave me a real taste of local cuisine. My room was a haven of comfort and cleanliness, kept absolutely spotless throughout my stay. A wonderful daily touch was the replenishment of complimentary beverages: refreshing peach tea, pure water, and delicious coconut water—perfect after a day of exploring the desert. The most touching moment came upon my departure when the hosts presented me with exquisite souvenirs from the Mogao Grottoes. It was a gesture of such kindness and generosity that I will forever cherish. This home stay is a gem, perfectly suited for solo travelers seeking a safe and welcoming environment, couples looking for a unique retreat, or families wanting an authentic experience. I am already counting down the days until I can return next summer. A heartfelt thank you to the most wonderful hosts!

GGuest UserOverall, I'm giving this hotel five stars, but it's not for everyone. This place is for people seeking a slice of life...It promotes a slow pace and to really understand the hotels value you need to actually spend time there. Also looks really ideal of families - lots of area for kids to roam without getting into trouble. If you just want a bed to crash in while spending most of your time outside, don't stay here. Also if you want the most Instagrammable hotel around? Yes, book it. Pros: Amazing view, super peaceful. The layout feels like a camp you walk out and you're right in the common area, easy to relax. I came back late one night and heard absolutely nothing for a long time. Service is genuinely 5-star; they really care about your experience. Some previous reviews mentioned they staff attitude is bad - I confirm this is either fixed or incorrect. Maybe I don't expect people to pamper me 24/7. There are plenty of staff and if you chat to them or make a request they will 100% help. Rooms are cleaned well. Some previous reviews said the aircon was bad, but mine worked great, and hot water never ran out, temperature is easy to control. Also, people said no food delivery - wrong. I got delivery even during a sandstorm, no issues. Taxis and Didi come to the hotel fine, about 12 kuai from the center. Cons: The bathroom is extremely small. If you're over 177cm / 73kg or have a broad build, I can't recommend you stay here. I kept bumping into walls, and the shower curtain stuck to my skin mid-shower – my biggest letdown. The room gets hot, stuffy, and smelly if you turn the aircon off during summer days. I made that mistake once. I'd suggest the hotel install sensors to manage temperature or air out rooms when guests are out. Breakfast is simple – looks and tastes fine, but gets repetitive and you can't choose from a menu.

AAnonymous UserIf life is a never-ending journey, then the camping trip at the Desert Star Hotel is undoubtedly a highlight of my journey. When I arrived at the campsite, the first thing that attracted me was the unique tent house. Unlike regular tents, the top of the tent is made of special transparent materials, like a huge viewing platform, which builds a bridge of communication between me and the vast galaxy. As night fell, I couldn't wait to lie on the soft bed, and when I looked up, the bright starry sky was presented to me without reservation. The stars twinkled, like gems inlaid on the black sky, beautiful as a dream. At that moment, the world seemed to press the mute button, and the impetuousness and noise in my heart were instantly soothed. The unique beauty of this quietness made me intoxicated. It is worth mentioning that the hotel staff is very considerate. After placing the order, the customer service guy at the front desk added our contact information and gave us some local travel tips, which saved us a lot of time. From the warm reception at check-in, to the careful guidance during the activities, to the warm greetings at night, every detail made people feel cared for. They not only provided me with thoughtful service, but also made me feel the simplicity and enthusiasm of the desert people. This desert camping trip not only allowed me to appreciate the magnificent scenery of the desert, but also experienced exciting and interesting activities, which became an eternal and beautiful memory in my heart.
