Shangri-La Fuzhou is located in the bustling Golden Business District of Gulou District, seamlessly connected to the shopping center called 'BAFUNHUI' by Shangri-La. It is surrounded by prominent city-level landmarks such as Wuyi Square, the White Tower, and Fujian Grand Theatre, and is just a three-minute walk from Nanmendou Metro Station. It takes approximately 20 minutes by car to reach Fuzhou Railway Station, 40 minutes to arrive at Fuzhou South Railway Station, and 45 minutes to get to Changle International Airport. Additionally, the shopping center has ingeniously designed a top-quality leisure and entertainment space called 'Buds' for family guests.

"The hotel boasts a great environment and an excellent location. Peri facilitated a quick check-in, and Annie promptly arranged for our extended stay and housekeeping. All the staff members were very professional. Kelly noted our itinerary and granted a late check-out, which was much appreciated. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay with attentive and thoughtful service. This is an ideal place for both business trips and leisure travel."

"The location is excellent, with the guesthouse and convention center both in this area. When checking in, the front desk attendant asked about my booking channel. In the morning, the sunlight streams onto the balcony, and opening the curtains reveals a picturesque landscape. The room is spacious, with distinct living and sleeping areas. The layout and amenities are fantastic. The breakfast selection is varied, but my favorite was the congee with dried bamboo shoots, and the coffee was delicious – an Americano was perfect for a morning boost."

Sheltered from the bustle of the streets, the hotel's serene courtyard provides a tranquil retreat—guests can step out to enjoy the lively local atmosphere and return to the peaceful embrace of the courtyard, making it the ideal choice for an immersive stay in Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. 。 Originally the mansion of Chen Maohou, a Qing Dynasty imperial scholar, the hotel carries over 200 years of cultural heritage. The entire compound retains the original layout of Min-style ancient architecture, complete with saddle-shaped walls, carved wooden beams, courtyard water features, and winding corridors with floral halls. Every brick and tile reflects the scholarly legacy of the Luo-Chen family. The hotel embraces an elegant neo-Chinese design, with Fujian’s intangible cultural heritage—exquisite bodiless lacquerware—as the central aesthetic theme, seamlessly blending traditional Chinese elements throughout the space. Handcrafted lacquer decorations, classical calligraphy and paintings, and intricately carved wooden window frames adorn the guest rooms and public areas, exuding warmth and refinement. Free from excessive ornamentation, the design recreates the understated elegance of ancient literati residences, with every corner embodying Eastern aesthetics—each snapshot captures the essence of Chinese cultural ambiance. The hotel offers a diverse range of room types to suit various travelers, including scenic deluxe rooms, courtyard golden hot spring suites, family suites, and standalone courtyard villas. Dining is a highlight of the hotel, featuring a Michelin one-star Fujian cuisine restaurant dedicated to authentic Fuzhou flavors. Using locally sourced fresh ingredients, the restaurant’s star chefs craft distinctive Fujian delicacies, enabling guests to savor Michelin-level dishes without stepping outside the ancient compound—a one-stop immersion into Fuzhou’s culinary culture. Beyond dining, the hotel offers diverse cultural experiences, including Hanfu rentals for children and adults, and treasure-hunt activities for families, catering to couples, family trips, and cultural or business travelers. Staying here allows guests to delve into the millennia-old history of Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, appreciate the artistry of bodiless lacquerware, experience genuine Chinese courtyard living, and relish Michelin-starred cuisine—unlocking a seamless blend of dining, accommodation, and exploration in Fuzhou’s cultural heartland.

"Staying with my child in the Shuxiang Wenru parent-child room exceeded all expectations! The location is tucked away inside the ancient houses of Wenrufang in Sanfang Qixiang, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. The traditional Chinese courtyard vibe is fantastic, and it's super convenient for exploring the alleys and lanes. The cleanliness deserves a special shout-out! The room was meticulously cleaned; no water stains or odors in the corners or bathroom. The bedding was clean and soft, and impressively, for an old architectural style, there was no musty smell. It gave me great peace of mind traveling with a child. The ambiance is typical of a new Chinese style within a traditional Minnan ancient house. The courtyard is elegant and serene, with wooden windows and lacquered art摆件 (decorations) that give it a scholarly feel. It’s quiet and not noisy, ensuring an undisturbed night's rest. The parent-child facilities are very thoughtful. They provided special toiletries for children, and the room was spacious with comfortable beds, catering to all the needs of families traveling with kids. The courtyard also offers Hanfu experiences and parent-child treasure hunts, which my child absolutely loved. The service was warm and attentive. The staff responded promptly, patiently addressing all our requests and communicating kindly and helpfully. Breakfast was a delightful surprise! There was a rich variety, catering to both adults and children, including many local Fuzhou snacks. The ingredients were fresh and light, perfect for children. Dining in the ancient courtyard setting truly amplified the experience. This is an excellent choice for a short family trip to Fuzhou. Next time we visit Sanfang Qixiang with our child, we'll definitely choose this place again!"

We stayed in a family kid's room, and it's rare to find one this big. The moment I opened the door, I was incredibly pleased. "Fuzhou Lakeside Hotel Stay: A Truly Deserving Five-Star with Impeccable Service This trip to Fuzhou, I specifically compared two five-star hotels: Fuzhou Lakeside Hotel and Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou. After staying at Fuzhou Lakeside Hotel, my previous disappointment with the Shangri-La vanished. As a well-established state guesthouse boasting West Lake views, its facilities, amenities, and service fully live up to five-star standards. The overall experience was significantly more comfortable. I. Hotel Environment and Location: Rich Lakeside Heritage The hotel is situated right by West Lake. The grand entrance features a pair of white elephant sculptures, stately and imposing. The entire glass-curtained building directly faces the West Lake. Upon entering, the lobby displays a calligraphy plaque reading 'First Building of Lake and Mountain Scenery,' creating a strong Chinese traditional atmosphere. The location is its biggest advantage. Stepping out, you're immediately on the West Lake walking path, perfect for an evening stroll or a morning jog. It's only a ten-minute drive from Sanfang Qixiang, making sightseeing very convenient. It's a peaceful oasis in a bustling area, without the noise typically found in city hotels. II. Guest Room: New Chinese Luxury, Spacious with Top-Notch Amenities The guest rooms feature a modernized New Chinese style, with dark wood finishes paired with ink-wash orchid paintings, creating a calm and elegant color scheme. The room is very spacious, avoiding any cramped feeling. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the city's buildings, and you can even catch the sunset in the evening. The bedding is soft and thick, complemented by two sets of pillows, ensuring a great night's sleep. A curved leisure sofa is tucked in the corner, and the desk is large, perfectly adequate for business travelers. The minibar thoughtfully includes seasonal fruits. The independent bathroom is fully tiled with marble and features both a bathtub and a separate shower, ensuring clear wet and dry zones. The mirrored vanity cabinet provides ample storage, the bathroom lighting is soft, and the toiletries are comprehensive. There are no flaws to be found in the hardware configuration. III. Value-Added Features: Humanized Service Beyond Competitors at the Same Price Point 1. Smart Robot Delivery Service There's a guide card on the guest room desk for robot delivery. Food delivery, packages, drinking water, and toiletries can all be called to your room directly via a QR code, eliminating the need to go downstairs to pick them up. Compared to the Shangri-La, where deliveries could only be left in a locker outside, this convenience is a huge difference and extremely friendly for business travelers or guests with luggage. 2. Exclusive Lakeside Running Amenities The hotel offers custom-made running shoes printed with a map of West Lake attractions, available for free rental or purchase. Given its proximity to the lakeside boardwalk, the hotel specifically caters to active guests with running shoes and related services. This unique feature is greatly appreciated by running enthusiasts. IV. Dining Experience The buffet dinner offers a rich variety, with clear sections for hot pot, seafood, local specialties, desserts, and fresh fruits. The ingredients are fresh, and replenishment is prompt. There's a diverse selection of fruits and drinks, and the hot dishes cater to both local and general tastes. The dining area is quiet and clean, and staff proactively clear plates and refill water. The overall quality is consistent. Breakfast offers a comprehensive spread, including local Fuzhou snacks like fish balls and peanut soup, as well as Western pastries, freshly ground coffee, and a whole grain station. Compared to the ordinary breakfast at the Shangri-La, the variety and sophistication here are a cut above. V. Overall Summary Advantages 1. Excellent location, right by West Lake, quiet environment, and superb views. 2. Spacious rooms with a stylish New Chinese decor, and comprehensive bathroom amenities. 3. Humanized special features like smart delivery robots and free running shoes, addressing essential travel needs. 4. High-quality dining, rich local specialties, meeting five-star hotel standards. 5. The well-trained staff of an established state guesthouse provide prompt service. Minor Drawbacks The hotel building is older, so some public area elevators are a bit slow. During peak hours, check-in might involve a short wait; it's recommended to avoid peak times. Overall, for the same budget, Fuzhou Lakeside Hotel's hardware, convenient services, and dining standards are far superior to other five-star hotels in the city. Highly recommended for both leisure and business travelers to Fuzhou."

Nanping Colorful Village Homestay

9.4/10

This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

Located at the end of Nanmen Bay, on the upper left of Dongshan Fengdongshi Scenic Area, the room we stayed in has no noise mirrors and looks like it is in the scenic area. The super invincible sea view, we can take postcard-like photos on our own private balcony. In terms of geographical location, other B&Bs or hotels on Dongshan Island may really not be able to compare with his home. In terms of the luxury of the room, many B&Bs I have stayed in in China are really not on the same level as his home. The decoration in the room is simple but high-end, and many equipment and furniture are imported (so although the room fee has been collected, pre-authorization is still required). His shower room is one of the few hotels and B&Bs I have stayed in in China that will not leak. The projector also has a high-definition picture. There are many snacks in the room. Basically, you don’t want to go out when you stay in the room, because the beautiful sea view can make you lie on the rocking chair on the balcony for an afternoon. It’s really a bit like our vacation in Seychelles or Six Senses Yao Noi. Because it is relatively hidden, it is a little far from the parking and commercial areas (many restaurants are in this area), and the owner of the B&B will drive a battery car to pick you up. The B&B is not far from the only remaining ancient street in Dongshan, and there are many snack shops and small restaurants on the ancient street. Go to the lower left after leaving the B&B, and you will see many piers where fishing boats are moored after passing the Fengdongshi ticket office. The more famous Fish Ball Grandma on the island is nearby. His Liufu fish balls, peanut sesame cakes and meat dumplings are delicious. The B&B does not provide breakfast, but you can take it out, which is not inconvenient. The main thing here is the high-end rooms and the unbeatable sea view. The most important thing is that dogs are also welcome. My two short legs also like it here very much.

It is located a few dozen meters away from the Huaiyuan Building parking lot. There are two parking spaces at the door of the B&B that can be used, so there is no need to drag suitcases of various sizes along the stone road. B&B owners also operate their own restaurants, which solves the problem of dining out. Take a few steps in from the entrance path to Huaiyuan Tower. Then along the stream, you can pass by Yunshuiyao Ancient Town with its big waterwheel and big banyan tree. After walking for more than 1 kilometer, you will reach Hegui Tower. Chatting with the landlord was like family, very cordial. We originally agreed to pay 10 yuan for breakfast per person, but ended up giving away breakfast for the two of us without charge. Each person has a bowl of hot porridge, a meat bun, steamed buns, eggs, and a plate of side dishes. Although it is an ordinary home-cooked meal, it is full of heart. For those who eat greasy meals out, this light breakfast is more considerate. There is a tea field at the door of the B&B, and corn, ginger, and green onions are planted... It is simply used to save the cognition of children who grow up in reinforced concrete houses. Falling asleep to the sounds of insects and frogs at night is like going back to childhood. Each room is equipped with screen windows so no mosquitoes can enter. If you have the chance, you should come back and wander around in a daze.

Found a gem for our family trip to Xiamen! The Weishang Garden Hotel's family room is simply divine. It's in a prime location on Zhongshan Road, with a charming Nanyang retro vibe. Stepping out, you're surrounded by street food and shopping districts. It's super close to the ferry terminal and the Bashi market, saving us a lot of travel time. The room is incredibly spacious, bursting with a playful, child-friendly atmosphere. My kids instantly fell in love with the bunk bed with a slide, and the safety rails gave us parents peace of mind. There were dolls, building blocks, and a small tent – enough to keep the little ones entertained for half the day, meaning we didn't have to keep an eye on them constantly. The room also features a private little balcony, and the faint scent of tea in the corridor made us feel instantly relaxed upon entering. The entire room is equipped with smart devices, and the toiletries were clean and high-quality. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the floor is covered with soft mats, so we didn't have to worry about the kids bumping themselves while running barefoot. Robot delivery is available 24/7, and the concierge was incredibly responsive to our requests. The bedding was soft, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. It's spacious and comfortable enough for a family of three or even families with two children. Our kids were already asking to come back next time we left. This is definitely our top choice for family accommodation!

The location is really impeccable, only about 300 meters from the seaside, a few minutes walk directly to the beach, no need to drive detours, no need to run around with large and small bags, taking children to travel super effortless. The boss is particularly courteous and thoughtful, preparing a full set of beach toys in advance, shovels, small buckets are all available, children can enjoy digging sand and rushing to the sea once they arrive, saving themselves the trouble of carrying a pile of luggage, happiness directly pulled full. The room is clean and tidy, the decoration is warm and comfortable, the lighting and ventilation are very good, the overall environment is quiet and relaxing, adults live and relax, children are also comfortable and comfortable. The host is warm and easy-going, responds promptly to any needs, the communication is patient and gentle, and the service is particularly in place. The overall experience is full, super high value for money, very suitable for parent-child families, walking the baby by the sea trip, come to the seaside accommodation sincerely first choice this family, next time I will repurchase!

The moment I stepped into this hotel, a good portion of my travel fatigue just melted away. The front desk staff greeted me with warm, polite smiles, and the check-in process was quick and smooth, without any unnecessary delays. I had only mentioned a preference for floral scents, and a small sprig of fresh jasmine was discreetly added next to the welcome tea and snacks.

Two months later, while browsing Ctrip, I suddenly realized I hadn't written my January review, so I'm adding it here. The room was clean and tidy. Dongshan Island is very cold in January, and the room even provided thick blankets. The people at Hai Le Xin are incredibly kind. My roommates from Xinjiang and Chengdu, along with Da Huang and Xiao Hui, went to see the sunrise. A young man even took me to Aojiao on his electric scooter. The owner is also incredibly kind. I want to shout out to the owner! The first night, I couldn't ride an electric scooter, so he lent me his bicycle. When the bicycle broke down halfway, he came to rescue me on his motorcycle and recommended good restaurants along the way. The next day, my electric scooter ran out of power at Aojiao, and he brought me batteries. Later, he took me to other attractions, and when I was leaving, he even took me to the nearby bus stop. I originally expected to spend the New Year's holiday alone and lonely, but my experience here made me feel incredibly pampered. The sea breeze on Dongshan Island in January is icy, but the people at Hai Le Xin are warm and welcoming. When will my next holiday come? I'll definitely come back to Hai Le Xin! 🥰🥰🥰
