"Undoubtedly, this is one of the more basic and budget-friendly hotels I've stayed at in Brunei. I booked it primarily to find an affordable stopover in Brunei, where accommodation prices can be quite high, and in the end, the experience was okay. However, I absolutely have to complain about its cleanliness and facilities, which severely fell short of my expectations.
Firstly, there were some strange white marks on the room floor. Secondly, the bathroom and toilet weren't cleaned thoroughly at all, especially the toilet. As for the facilities, everything was simply too old. I have a travel adapter, but due to the design of the outlets, it kept popping out when I tried to plug it in, making charging a real issue. What I found most baffling was that there was no hot water for my shower at 10:30 PM, forcing me to take a quick cold shower 😭. On a positive note, the airport pickup service was excellent; the driver waited patiently for me and was very friendly!"

"The hotel is located quite far from the city center, but it does provide a free shuttle service to and from the airport. It is also not very close to the sea; however, this is not a major issue since swimming is prohibited at the nearby beaches anyway. Additionally, there are no cafes or shops within walking distance of the hotel, which makes the location even less convenient. The prices at the hotel’s cafe are overpriced.
The hotel’s design feels somewhat outdated, but nothing critical. What was truly disappointing, however, was the service. The hotel presents itself as a 4-star property, yet it is surprisingly strict about a very basic necessity — drinking water. Guests are provided with only one bottle of water per person per day.
There is coffee and tea available in the room, but to boil the kettle you need additional drinking water, which the staff refused to provide. They insisted that water had already been supplied during housekeeping and that no more was allowed. We had to keep asking for it as if they were personally paying for it themselves. That was extremely unpleasant.
The tap water is yellow, and there were also issues with the hot water.
Only one person works at the reception desk, which is clearly insufficient for a hotel with this many rooms, resulting in long waiting times. The reception staff are not knowledgeable about nearby attractions and do not assist with arranging tours, suggesting that guests find everything out on their own.
Unfortunately, the overall service was extremely disappointing."

"For its price, this hotel is quite decent. Just be aware that in some rooms, the toilet and shower are not en-suite but located on the floor. The room itself was perfectly fine, not too small, and it was nice to have a window.
On the downside, the internet speed was slow. I also wished there were more showers and toilets, and that they were cleaner.
The hotel's location is not bad, close to the bus station. If you're arriving by bus from Kota Kinabalu, you can even walk there. There are shops and cafes nearby."

"The Centrepoint is a historical hotel. Its very old and still operating. I had a huge room, everything was ok. Bed super comfy, bedding ok. Breakfast is incredible ! So many options!!! Staff are super Friendly and always helped me booking my taxi with Dart 🤗🙏🏽 the only thing didn't like is the old style. I prefer modern hotels. All the room and hotel is very old, and the AC is so cold. Even I put it in ”fan modus only” at 30°c and it was cold.... Otherwise nice stay."

"I stayed for two nights at this hotel, and it offers great value for money. It's conveniently located within walking distance of a shopping mall, tourist attractions like the Old Mosque, and various restaurants. While the room isn't luxurious, it has all the basic amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was a buffet on the first day and à la carte on the second. I personally enjoyed the mild, lightly salted flavors. The hotel also provides a pre-booked shuttle service, which I used to get to the airport and other attractions. Note that the gym and pool are managed externally; they are within walking distance but outside the main hotel building. You'll need to pick up a pass from reception to access them."

"The reception lady was lovely and professional. She verified all the required details promptly and, shared some useful information within the hotel and nearby attractions. The room is pretty standard, comes with the necessary in-room amenities and the air-conditioning was NICE. The environment was pretty neat, no loud noises from the street nor from the air-conditioning. Location of the hotel is ideal. It is near some of the main attractions, while furtherest is about a 15 minutes car ride. Breakfast buffet (at an additional fee) is alright, mainly international cuisine. Tried their in-house restaurant and in-room dining. Food was delicious and affordable. All of the staffs I have came across and interacted were extremely friendly and positive. Nothing much to be picky for this hotel."

One of the highlights of my stay was the staff — they were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with any requests. The hotel also provides complimentary airport transfer, which was very convenient and appreciated.

The facilities in the room included everything one might need. 👍 The location is both good and scary, because this Indian neighborhood is very lively and cool by day because there are a lot of restaurants and the vibe is really authentic ! But when the night comes, there are rats everywhere in the street (not in the hotel) and some scary people start hanging around… The hotel in itself is great, I would definitely recommend it for a cheap night in KL and it is perfectly located to KL Sentral station !
