Over the past few months, the COVID-19 outbreak caused significant disruptions to travel plans. Throughout this challenging period, Trip.com has worked closely with our airline, hotel and other partners to help secure refunds for millions of users worldwide, while keeping travelers safe and informed.

The safety of users is our top priority, and from the early stages of the pandemic, Trip.com has responded to the developing situation with provisions to deliver on this promise. Between January and April, Trip.com extended coverage and scope of its cancellation provisions numerous times in response to developments in the global situation, to the greatest extent possible securing refunds for travelers.

As early as January, Trip.com had announced cancellation provisions for individuals directly and unavoidably affected by the outbreak. Between February and April, in addition to providing refunds for those unable to travel due to travel restrictions or diagnosis with the virus, Trip.com extended coverage to further guaranteed refunds for health workers who sacrificed their travel plans to remain on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19 with the Safeguard Cancellation Guarantee initiative.
