Paid extra for breakfast included but it was just a coffee bar. Staff was helpful and polite. Will definitely book again

The staff is friendly here. The hotel is pretty central but about 10 minutes to Bennington College. They don’t provide housekeeping. You have to ask for everything. And if you fill out the form for certain housekeeping items, they still don’t come. Breakfast was nice. WiFi works great. Rooms are a little stuffy but you can open the windows.
Pine Crest Motel & Cabins

As others have mentioned, this is a hidden gem! I stayed in cabin #1 ”Racoon's Roost” and I loved it. It's rustic but the interior had been redone and it was very clean...perfect for a solo traveler. It's a ”tiny house” with everything you need. There's a fridge, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker. I loved the new knotty pine paneling and skylight over the comfortable bed. Lovely setting by the river with a little waterfall. The pool was obviously closed at this time of year, but flowers were still blooming everywhere. Nice attention to details and great communication from the owner. My only suggestions (not critical) would be maybe a Keurig coffee maker so you don't need to make a whole pot and an extra, fluffy blanket left in the room...maybe a small rug inside the door to reduce tracking in dirt from the parking area. Cheers to Pine Crest and I hope to return one day!
Colonial Motel and Spa

Well the reviews I read after I booked this place are either really bad or pretty good. There are 2 different buildings of rooms and another separate with pools. The front one looks like a dump and that's probably where the bad reviews come from. I was in the back in 203. The room was big and clean. The whole place can use some freshening up, but it was fine for a $90 motel. The pool area is pretty good. 2 pools and a hot tub. Not much deck space or chairs but decent. The hot tub closes on Tuesdays to be emptied and cleaned. The staff can certainly use some professional training in hospitality. They weren't rude but not very warm, welcoming or in any kind of uniform and pretty haggard looking. Overall it's a cheap, tired old place that has seen better days. I got what I paid for, nothing more. For no cost at all they could do a lot more but it's pretty clear they are riding into the sunset with no interest in improvement.

My wife and I need a place to stay overnight during a long drive to Maine. We were pleasantly surprised by the affordable price and convenient location from the web search. The hotel proved to be affordable and a good value compared to other options. The room and property were very clean and we felt secure. The facility is older, but has been well maintained. The inn management was very friendly and made sure we had everything that we needed for a nights stay. We would certainly consider staying here again on another visit. The inn is a very short distance from the charming downtown area.
