Allen Park Motor Lodge

I’ve been to this motel multiple times as a one or 2 night stay when in the area. The usual man wasn’t working today. But the experience was so rude, embarrassing and just won’t even let us go back. The air isn’t on in the room so expect a hot room until it cools down. You go to check out and wait for your deposit of $30. As I wait, the new older man working tells me I destroyed the towels and linens and shower curtain. So my fiancé furious goes to the room where we were, there was a chocolate spot on one washcloth and a little drool on my daughters pillow case. Those all are white and are most likely bleached every wash by the smell. They showed an old strange mark on the shower curtain way up top that looked like nail polish which we didn’t have. It was a late check in for my fiancé and 18 month old daughter who slept in her pack and play. I’ve never not got a deposit back in my life as I try to make sure things are in order. Even after explaining they wouldn’t refund. And they can see in my file I’ve rented jacuzzi rooms and stayed multiple times prior, never any issues. So they won’t get our business anymore… they have a competition up the road with a pool worth the drive.

Red Roof Inn Detroit - Dearborn/Greenfield Village

We stayed here for 2 nights. As we came to the Ford museum and Greenfield village. This was a great place to stay. Very reasonably priced and a basic room. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nice in that the shower and toilet were separated from the sink. This is always good when you have more than one traveler. There was a nice desk and television. Close to the places to eat. Only about 5 to 7 minutes from the actual Ford museum. Very friendly. Staff made the stay very nice.

Hampton Inn Mt. Pleasant

It was a while since I last stayed here, so I figured I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, some of the downsides I noted a few years ago remain.....most prominent the bed! The bed was, in short, awful, and not the least bit comfortable. The wi-fi also kept disconnecting in the middle of using, which was very frustrating (although the indicator was showing a strong signal). And, one of my pet peeves...the shower-mounted toiletries. I dislike these options, and case in point during this stay; in the middle of her shower, my wife discovered the shampoo dispenser was empty when trying to use. A call and a visit to the front desk took care of that, but that was about 10 minutes longer in the shower than she had planned, or wanted. The complimentary hot breakfast was good, and the location very convenient for all of Mt. Pleasant's attractions and points of interest.

Red Roof Inn & Suites Detroit - Melvindale/ Dearborn

This is not your typical Red Roof Inn, as soon as you walk through the entrance door you can tell that is a much nicer RRI than one might expect. First off the corridors are all indoor, not outdoor as is the case with many of the old RRI hotels. The lobby is very nicely decorated, sadly though the fitness room is not open due to covid. My room was #216 near the top of the stairs and near the elevator. The room was very clean and featured a king bed, hot tub, and fireplace, although its not needed in August. Large TV and a nice sitting area with a sofa and lounge chair. I think this was a junior suite or something. Would most definitely stay here again. Also to note: this is a quiet neighborhood, I felt very safe here.
Travelodge by Wyndham Muskegon

Our stay here was perfect. Room and hotel hallways were clean. Room was $85 with tax, and had microwave oven, large refrigerator, iron & ironing board, and coffeemaker. 6:30-9:00AM Continental Breakfast had bagels & cream cheese, muffins, cereal, instant oatmeal, bananas, and a waffle iron to pour and make hot waffles. The hotel had a coin-operated washer and dryer for guest use. The neighborhood is not really walk-able, but hotel is just off of major street for car access. This hotel sounded much better than the reviews on the nearby Clarion Hotel.
Best Western of Harbor Springs

The hotel is extremely well maintained. It presents well both from the exterior and interior. We had a double queen and our room was huge. There are only 4 rooms with tubs and we enjoyed having one. The rest of the rooms have walk-showers. The rooms are very well appointed. Very clean. Quiet. Great towels. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Indoor pool and whirlpool are very clean. Complimentary breakfast is very nice. Hot entree is individually packaged. Waffle machine. Yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals. Coffee, juice. Breads and toaster. Very nice. Hotel is very well located. Minutes from Petoskey. Affordable. Truly a wonderful property. We will definitely stay here in the future.
