When traveling to Xi'an, the hotel's location is really important. This time, I chose the Hyatt Group's Hyatt Place Xi'an Bell Tower Muslim Street. As the name suggests, it is 500 meters from Xi'an's landmark Bell Tower, 200 meters from Muslim Street, and within walking distance to the Drum Tower. The location is great and the transportation is convenient. The hotel design allows you to experience the familiar brand standards and elements of Hyatt Place while incorporating the local charm of Xi'an. The decorations and artworks in the public areas, including free Tang dynasty costume experiences prepared for tourists, all reflect the rich local culture of the ancient city of Xi'an. The lobby's "Creative Space" is my favorite part. The open outdoor seating area gives it a relaxed community café vibe. Under the crystal chandelier is the artist-created "Symphony of Time and Space Trilogy," themed around the Drum Tower, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and the cityscape of Xi'an. I like Hyatt Place because it offers standardized rooms and services, such as a gym and self-service laundry, while also bringing unique surprises. For example, this hotel offers tatami-style rooms, suitable for families with children. The restaurant on the first floor is also noteworthy. The high ceilings combined with green and elegant design create a quiet dining atmosphere. It also serves local specialty breakfasts, allowing you to enjoy the culinary charm of Xi'an, the city of carbohydrates, without stepping outside.

I only had 12 hours in Xi’an but I made the most of it. First, I booked a hotel near the city wall so that when I woke up I could easily explore it. The city wall was magnificent. I hired a bike on top of the wall and rode around it. From the exit, I ordered a Didi (taxi) to the pagoda. I also bought a ticket to enter the pagoda. I climbed to the top of the pagoda and was able to get a great view of the courtyard. When in Xi’an, grab yourself a Chinese hamburger (roujiamo - pronounced row - gee - uh - more) and some Biang Biang noodles. You won’t regret eating these foods and you can find them everywhere!

When the Chinese lanterns first came on, the whole street's imitation Tang architecture was lit up with warm yellow lights. The eaves and brackets were layered in the light and shadow. Walking on the road was like traveling to the Shangyuan Lantern Festival in Chang'an🏮 Everywhere on the street, you can see young ladies and brothers wearing Hanfu, blending with the antique street scene. A casual photo is an atmosphere blockbuster📸 Every other way there is a wonderful performance: the tumbler lady's smile seals the god, the Tang palace music and dance on the boat, the shadow puppet show of street artists... I can't stop watching it ~ If you like to take pictures, you must rush to these places: in front of the giant lantern group in Kaiyuan Plaza, next to the musical fountain in Big Wild Goose Pagoda North Plaza (there is a light show at night), and an alley full of red lanterns. If you are tired of shopping, you can try the Tang-style snacks on the street, such as osmanthus cake, meat bun, Hu spicy soup... while eating while watching the night view, you will feel like you are a part of the Tang Dynasty. In order, one can see the Heavenly King Hall, Guanyin Hall, Great Compassion Hall, Main Hall, Sutra Library, and Dharma Hall. These halls, arranged in an orderly pattern along the central axis, gradually rise from low to high. Walking through them, one feels as if entering a tranquil and pure land, far away from the hustle and bustle of the world, a moment of detachment. Looking up at the mottled stone walls, it feels as if past wounds and present anxieties can be healed here.
