A pleasant stroll away from the hustle and bustle of central London, and a little football adventure. I left my apartment near the new Wimbledon Football Club stadium. It's a pleasant, small stadium, perfectly integrated into the neighborhood. The local community actively supports the club, and the stadium has a small museum and shop. Next, we head toward the underground near the famous Wimbledon Park. Wimbledon Park station is an old wooden station. You can take a couple of stops to Putney Bridge. From there, walk through Fulham Palace (you can take a look inside; admission is free) to Fulham Football Club stadium, a very nice stadium and one of the most authentic in the Premier League. Then, a few kilometers through quiet residential areas to Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea, where the bustle of the city is much more pronounced. My wife and I had tickets for Centre Court on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both days were incredibly enjoyable, with highly entertaining tennis matches, as always. Compared to previous years, the food queues were a bit longer, but the variety and quality of offerings were better, making the overall experience excellent.

The entire hotel avoids ostentatious luxury, offering only the relaxed, old-school feel unique to established five-star hotels—gentle and reassuring. Its calming atmosphere brought me a long-lost sense of relaxation. Staying here is like experiencing an immersive, healing vacation ✨. Built along the beach, the hotel boasts a private white sand beach. Quiet and peaceful with expansive sea views, the beach chairs are my perfect spot for afternoon relaxation. A book, a glass of iced water, and the occasional sound of children playing large-scale chess—the sea breeze creates a uniquely Penang-style slow pace. Stayed for two nights in the Laurent Perrier room. The reception staff gave us a warm and friendly welcome, showing genuine interest in our plans. Even during checkout, they asked about our experience, which added a thoughtful touch. The bar area was spacious and inviting, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. Breakfast at The Orangery was delightful, especially with the view of people walking their dogs on the green; I highly recommend the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Our second-floor room was spotless, and the large, comfy bed ensured a great night's sleep. My only minor gripe was the shower being over the bath, but it didn't lessen the overall enjoyable stay.

Stopped briefly in Reading before heading to Wimbledon and was fortunate enough to receive an upgrade upon arrival. The upgraded room was absolutely stunning, and the staff provided excellent service throughout the stay. A special thanks to Sophie at the bar for her outstanding customer service. It was a wonderful experience; it was my first time attending, and I’d definitely go again. I’d suggest bringing lunch or arriving early since the wait to purchase food there can be quite lengthy. If you’ve got tickets for one of the main courts where the first game starts at 1, it’s a good idea to arrive early to explore the practice courts and catch some matches on the smaller courts too.

I don't understand the negative reviews. I visited with a friend and had an amazing night out—one of the best in ages! Noel, the landlord, is one of the nicest people you'll meet. We had a great chat about the pub while enjoying the band, which one of my friends played in. Noel has a fair rule to buy a few drinks while you're there, and I completely understand why. The pub doesn’t serve food, but there’s an excellent "chippy" next door, and Noel encourages you to bring your food in, as long as you purchase a drink. That's more than fair, in my opinion. He has a packed gig list and pays the artists performing, so it wouldn’t be right to "freeload" on the entertainment after buying just a single pint and staying all night. This venue is perfect for music lovers seeking quality entertainment and a few drinks as part of the night. I highly recommend it, and my only regret is that it isn’t closer to home!

My very first Wimbledon and we somehow ended up with Centre Court tickets for the Men’s Finals. Honestly, still pinching myself. The energy in there was completely electric. I thought I’d be casual about it, but we were absolutely zoned in and captivated for the entire four-hour match. The tension before a serve is unlike anything else. It was also such a trip looking over at the Royal Box and seeing royalty sharing the space with Nicole Kidman, Sienna Miller, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Anna Wintour, and Rami Malek. We recently had a fantastic 3-night stay at the Rose & Crown in Wimbledon and couldn’t have been happier. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding — warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. Arriving at 9am after a long international flight, we were pleasantly surprised that, since our room was ready, we could check in early instead of just dropping off our bags. The room exceeded expectations with thoughtful touches like shortbread biscuits and a proper coffee machine. The shower had amazing water pressure, which was a bonus. The pub itself had a vibrant yet comfortable atmosphere, and its High Street location was perfect for exploring Wimbledon. Each morning started wonderfully with breakfast on-site — the dippy eggs were a personal favorite. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to the UK.

I had won tickets for day two on Centre Court through the public ballot, so attending Wimbledon was an absolute must. The courts and surrounding areas were spotless, and all of the staff were incredibly cheerful and supportive. Food and drinks were pricey, but that's to be expected at such an event. We managed to catch three matches, including a late one with Serena Williams under the roof that lasted until past ten o’clock. The court-side volunteers were very pleasant and helpful throughout the day. My only gripe would be the lack of crowd control around the outer courts, where people pushed their way through instead of moving orderly—though I suppose they may handle things differently for good reason. If you have the chance to go, definitely do!

Visited Wimbledon for the women’s semi-finals on Centre Court as a wheelchair user. Although I expected a poor view from the wheelchair area at the top, the view turned out to be excellent. The day was hot and uncomfortable, but the free water fountain was a welcome relief, even though it eventually ran out and had long queues. The grounds are stunningly beautiful, and despite the high costs, the overall experience is well worth it—truly a once-in-a-lifetime event for any tennis enthusiast.

The museum provides a great look into the historical period when the windmill was active. I had my marriage registration nearby and chose to have a private lunch with my family at the Opus One in Hotel Du Vin Wimbledon. From the initial inquiry, the team was an absolute delight to work with. The location is stunning—Opus One is a private event space with access to a flower garden where guests can enjoy fresh air. The beautiful estate offers excellent backdrops for photographs. While it's a bit of a trek, requiring a cab ride from Wimbledon station, the venue provides ample parking. On the day of the event, everyone, from the reception staff and bellboy to the servers, was friendly and incredibly helpful. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious; we chose a set BBQ buffet, which offered ample portions, surprisingly larger than what many venues provide for a set lunch. My point of contact from the events team was Kristyna, who was wonderful to work with. Though our event was small, with only 16 guests, the team never made us feel less important. The value for money paired with exceptional service truly exceeded our expectations.

We always choose the Fox and Dog since our son lives nearby. We wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. They offer the best rates and a consistently warm welcome. The rooms are gorgeous and spotless. We held our wedding at Hotel du Vin in March 2026, surrounded by our loved ones, and it was absolutely unforgettable. The salmon rice and chicken fried rice, in particular, left a lasting impression on me. They were so flavourful and satisfying that I’m already looking forward to ordering them again on my next visit. One lovely team member went above and beyond by letting my son try their delicious and generously portioned strawberry dessert, treating him with such care and warmth.
