Beautifully Preserved Roman arena in Croatia
#tripblazers #croatia #pula
The highlight of my trip to Croatia as a theatre teacher was visiting the Roman Arena in Pula. Unlike the Colosseum in Rome, this theatre has all four pillars completely intact which makes for a beautiful stunning picture.
You can also visit the halls underneath the main arena, to see where the animals and amphoras were stored. Try not to visit during the heat of the day at noon or you might get toasted!

Roman History and Winemaking
#hiddengems
One of the most beautiful summer destinations in Europe is definitely Pula in Croatia. With a history of wine making and shipbuilding. Pula has a beautiful historic old town where you can even visit the famous Croatian amphitheater.
This dates back to Roman times and can even be compared to the Arena in Rome. But not only the landmark of Pula is worth seeing, in the city center there are other Roman buildings and temples waiting for you. Picturesque are also the small alleys and pretty city squares, where you can enjoy the wonderful summer scenery with a cocktail or ice cream. In summer there is often live music and lots going on.
Another highlight that makes Pula extremely attractive as a summer destination is the countless magnificent bays and beaches. They are located outside the city and delight with beautiful nature and fabulous watercolors. Perfect if you want to relax for a few days and still do some sightseeing and excursions.#hiddengems #pula #croata

Spectacular Roman town
An Istrian gem with ancient history, culture, ambience & beaches as well as great food.
Croatia | Not just flowers and youth, but also relics and beaches
A single sentence to summarize Pula, Croatia, founded in the 2nd century BC, it still retains a large number of tangible historical relics to this day, including one of the few remaining ancient Roman amphitheaters, as well as temples and arches. The undulating city is reminiscent of Chongqing, full of fun, with the blue Danube River coast closely connected to forests, lakes, and mountains, making it very suitable for a slow-paced holiday.
📍Why choose Pula? Compared to Rome in Italy, the historical relics here are much closer to the audience, and there are significantly fewer tourists. If you visit during the off-season in autumn and winter, most of the city's attractions and relics may have less than ten people. Compared to the crowdedness of Rome, Pula offers the illusion of having the place to yourself.
📸Pula's ancient Roman arena, city gates, temples, and castles all reflect its important status during the Roman period. The fortress and towers on the hilltop bear witness to its special identity as a military stronghold, and the museum inside the fortress displays the once glorious history. It also constantly reminds posterity that only by being strong can one resist foreign invasions and maintain peace.
🦪It's not just about cultural history and natural landscapes, Pula's cuisine is also worth tasting. Located at the tip of the Istrian Peninsula, it blends Mediterranean flavors with various European tastes. Seafood, pizza, traditional Croatian dishes, as well as local specialties and ice cream are not to be missed.
3 days 2 nights in PULA!
Pula, a seafront city on the tip of Croatia’s Istrian Peninsula, is known for its protected harbor, beach-lined coast and Roman ruins. Settled in the prehistoric era and valued for its strategic location, Pula has been occupied, destroyed and rebuilt numerous times. The Romans, Ostrogoths and Venetians, as well as the Allied Forces in World War II, have each administered the city.#croatia #pula #trip

pula marina is a great place to see sunset, beautiful scenery .
The Arena of Pula, the amphitheatre of Pula is one of the six largest Roman arenas in the world. It is also the only arena in the world that completely preserves all Roman architecture. Built between 27 BC and 68 AD, this building is the largest and best preserved historical site in Croatia. The arena was used mainly for fighting performances. This magnificent Roman period ruin once accommodated 20,000 spectators. Nowadays, the arena is used as a venue for many cultural events in the summer, standing in an empty arena, imagining the hustle and bustle of the old people and the fierce fighting of the gladiators. The historical site of Croatia is only the first stop, it has been shocking.
