Great experience at Volkshotel Amsterdam
Last October, my partner and I went on an unforgettable trip to Amsterdam. We chose to stay at the Volkshotel at Wibautstraat 150, and it was a great choice! The hotel is 1.3 km from De Pijp, 2.2 km from Rembrandtplein, and only 2.7 km from the Museum District. It's a 2-minute walk to the Amstel River, and only 850 meters to the Eastern Docklands, making it super convenient to get around.
When we arrived at the hotel, I was instantly captivated. The painted lobby of Room 11050, the warm welcome at the front desk, everything made us feel at home. Every corner of the hotel is filled with a mix of vintage and modern styles, with a very artistic feel. The Wibautstraat metro station is right next to the hotel, making it a traveler's paradise.
As for the room, although it wasn't big, every inch was used just right. The room was minimalist in design, and the view from the window was beautiful. The bedding was clean and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning and a safe. The bathroom was well-equipped, with a particularly spacious shower. Although there was no fridge, this small regret was completely overshadowed by all the other advantages.
During our stay, we also enjoyed the other facilities of the hotel. The rooftop hot tub, sauna, and 7th-floor restaurant/club with panoramic views of Amsterdam were all very romantic. Every night we would go up to the roof and soak in the hot water overlooking this beautiful city, and it was indescribable. The coffee shop and evening bar on the first floor of the hotel were also great, with authentic delicacies to enjoy every day.
There are also many places worth visiting near the hotel. We especially liked the nearby De Silveren Spiegel restaurant, where the local Dutch food was simply delicious. Graham's Kitchen is also a good choice, with unforgettable modern European cuisine. If you have time, you can visit the area near the Central Station, where the historic buildings and modern shopping experience complement each other.
The only thing to note is that there is no fridge in the room, which may be inconvenient for those who want to store food for a long time. However, for short trips like ours, it's a minor issue.
Overall, the Volkshotel is excellent in terms of location, staff attitude, comfortable rooms, and a wide range of facilities. I highly recommend staying here the next time you go to Amsterdam, you won't be disappointed!
