HIKING LIONS HEAD
A SOUTH AFRICA HIGHLIGHT
Lion's mountain

Dad's Favorite Word: 'Let's See
The phrase that used to be my father's cherished motto, "let's see," has transformed into a source of frustration for me over the years. To me, those two simple words now carry the weight of uncertainty and disappointment, as if they're code for "maintain optimism, but don't expect too much." At the tender age of 16, I harbored a whimsical aspiration: to date a blind person, imagining it as a surefire way to escape the torment of "let's see." Little did I anticipate that my new romantic partner would respond with an equally bewildering phrase, "see for yourself." The irony of it all would be amusing if it weren't so disheartening, a reminder that life often throws unexpected twists our way.

Getting There - Reaching Table Mountain is very easy if you’re staying in the city center. The CBD is located just below the mountain, so you can choose to go by bus, car, taxi or bicycle. Cape Town’s MyCiti Bus system is an affordable, reliable option that transports passengers to the lower Cableway station. There are two routes to choose from – one that runs from the V&A Waterfront and the other from the city center.
Attractions - There are two ways to summit Table Mountain – by cable car or on foot. You can also choose to hike to the top and descend by cable car.
Each rotating cable car offers incredible views of the city, and takes only five minutes to reach the summit.
Food & Restaurants - At the top, the Table Mountain Café offers a delicious selection of self-service meals, snacks, pastries, desserts and beverages, while the Wi-Fi Lounge offers freshly brewed coffee and breakfast items.
You can also pack your own picnic basket, find a quiet spot and soak up the scenery with sundowners.
Shopping - Traveling to or from Table Mountain, the suburb of Gardens is an ideal spot to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a cocktail or two. There is a plethora of restaurants in the area that serve a wide variety of cuisines for all tastes.

CHANAL
When it comes to Cape Town, the topic must be inseparable from Table Mountain. It is the protagonist of the city, no matter which direction from the urban area, such as the shape of a huge marble dining table stands in the city. Few cities like Cape Town have such a magnificent national park in the city centre.
Looking at Table Mountain from the front, the top of Table Mountain is as flat as a table, as if it was flattened with a knife, so Table Mountain is also known as the "God's Table." Why is the top of Table Mountain flat?
300 million years ago, when the Waggonah continent split, the Cape Peninsula broke into several hills, and Table Mountain was just broken into a horizontal direction. A whole horizontal sandstone bed was at the top of the mountain. Because the sandstone is very hard and difficult to weather into soil, nearly 100 millimeters of annual rainfall in the Table Mountain area has washed away only the remaining soil, and the top of Table Mountain has formed the current geomorphological features.
