MANDALAY palace Moat and Wall
The whole palace complex was destroyed by fire during the Second World War. The palace walls, the four gates and the moat still stand today as evidence of the majestic palace city.
The walkway around the moat has been significantly improved in recent years (work on the northern stretch was still ongoing during our visit). It's now a popular place for a nighttime stroll, especially for families, young couples and people – men mostly – working out on the exercise equipment.

Mandalay Palace, Myanmar
I visited this historycal palace at November 2022. It's one of the famous places of Myanmar. Mandalay Palace was the primary royal residence of King Mindon and King Thibaw, the last two kings of the country. The complex seat of government on 28 November 1885 during the Third Anglo-Burmese War. Troops of the Burma Field Force entered the palace and captured the royal family. The British turned the palace compound into Fort Dufferin, named after the then viceroy of India. Throughout the British colonial era, the palace was seen by the Burmese as the primary symbol of sovereignty and identity. A replica of the palace was rebuilt in the 1990s with some modern materials. It's a very nice palace to visit.
