Liangshan Prefecture
Xichang Visit the ancient temples in the mountains of Shanghai!.
🔸This Lushan is not that Lushan, Lushan is also known as Frog Mountain, it is one of the provincial scenic spots in Sichuan, known as the "Southern Sichuan Scenic Area".
🔸There are ancient trees on the mountain, and there are Guangfu Temple, Mengduan Shrine, Sanjiao Nunnery, Ancestor Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Queen Mother Hall, Jade Emperor Hall, Qingyang Palace, Wuzu Nunnery and other ancient temples built in the Han, Tang, Ming, and Qing dynasties hidden in the dense shade. These ancient temples belong to Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. Although their doctrines, philosophical thoughts, etc. are not the same, they can live in harmony in a mountain for thousands of years, and each teaches their own teachings, which is rare in the country, and unique.
🔸Here is the spiritual clock, and it is also praised by monks and Taoists as a good mountain for enlightenment. More than a dozen Buddhist temples and Buddhist palaces are scattered in the dense forest, and the ancient temple buildings are built according to the situation, each occupying a secluded place, majestic and spectacular, with carved beams and painted buildings, which are fascinating. It is often said that "Guanyin Pavilion is winding and winding, Yaochi Palace is high and sunny, Jade Emperor Hall is dangerous and majestic, and Wuzu Nunnery is secluded and deep". Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism built temples on a road in the mountain, there are five temples on the mountain, four Taoist temples, a total of nine ancient temples, reflecting the religious purpose of "three religions in one" of Empress Wu of the Tang Dynasty. Emei is all Buddha, Qingcheng is pure Tao, only Xichang Lushan is unique, Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism coexist, forming a tourist attraction where natural and cultural landscapes gather.
🔸Ming Dynasty's top scholar Yang Shengan stayed in Lushan on the night of the Torch Festival. After seeing the beautiful scenery of Lushan and the grand occasion of the Torch Festival, he chanted the famous verse here: "The old man stays in Lushan tonight, and the sky gate is not closed at night. Who smashed the universe, the stars fell to the earth".
🔸The main peak of Lushan (Shamao Xiang) is 2317 meters above sea level, with a relative height difference of about 800 meters from the surface of Qionghai, and it is about eight kilometers from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. Lushan Mountain is strange and beautiful, with towering ancient trees. It is the natural green barrier of Xichang. There are many rare species of animals and plants in the forest. There is the Jiu Long Han Cypress, one of the ten "Bashu Tree Kings" with a history of two thousand years. It is unique in the world.

The first ancient temple of Luzhou Mountain - Guangfu Temple
In Xichang Luzhou Mountain, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism coexist, with numerous ancient temples, each with its own characteristics, and incense is prosperous. However, if you talk about which one can be the first ancient temple of Luzhou Mountain, it is none other than Guangfu Temple.
Guangfu Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and has been around for a thousand years. It is a truly ancient temple. The total building area is about 20,000 square meters, located on the mountainside of Luzhou Mountain, with the mountain facing the sea. The entire building complex is built in seven levels according to the mountain, which is spectacular. It is the oldest, largest, and most magnificent religious building in Luzhou Mountain, with the most prosperous incense.
One of the highlights of Guangfu Temple is the beautiful scenery. In front of the main gate of Guangfu Temple, there is a huge mountain gate square. On the square, there is a nine-dragon wall, with the words 'South Sichuan Scenic Spot' written on the front. The layered buildings and the towering Luzhou Mountain behind it vividly illustrate these words. Turning around, the whole Qionghai and Xichang city are in sight. The water of Qionghai is blue, and the water flowing through Xichang into Qionghai is red, creating a clear scene in Qionghai, which is breathtaking.
The second highlight of Guangfu Temple is its architectural complex. The Heavenly King Hall, Wanghai Tower, Three Saints Hall, Guanyin Hall, Daxiong Hall, Flying Beam Hall, and Mengduan Temple are arranged in sequence, going up according to the mountain, forming a majestic central axis. Among them, the Guanyin Hall is a three-story twelve-sided pavilion-style wooden structure, with antique bucket arches, carved beams and painted buildings, which are very exquisite. The thousand-hand Guanyin statue enshrined in the hall is as high as 8.5 meters, the highest in the southwest. In front of the Mengduan Temple, there is an ancient Han cypress tree, which is over two thousand years old and is one of the top ten tree kings in Sichuan.
The third and most important highlight of Guangfu Temple is its stele forest - the Earthquake Stele Forest, which ranks among the four major stele forests in the country, with more than 100 stone steles, recording several major earthquakes that occurred in Xichang, Mianning, Ganluo, Ningnan and other places in history. It is a batch of important materials for comprehensive research on China's earthquake history, geology and archaeology, and has dual value for social science and natural science research.
