Yuhu Village at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain now has a minibus service directly from the ancient town. We visited it on our way to Baisha. The former residence of American explorer Rock is located here, and it is said that he lived here for 27 years. Yuhu Village is small, and you need to buy a ticket for the electric car to enter. The houses in the village are all made of stone. There are two coffee shops in the village, which are picturesque and very suitable for taking photos, but the prices are a bit expensive. In addition to visiting the village, you can also take a walk to the nearby Longnv Lake, which is a small lake and grassland, and you can also enjoy horseback riding. Over the years, I've seen many lakes, some clearer, more transparent, bluer, greener, deeper, and shallower. When the wind blows, the lake always shimmers. 🛩️🛩️The day before we set off for Lijiang, I accidentally found this place online. I saw the special stone houses in the pictures and checked our travel route. 🚗🚗We drove ourselves, and our route was Lijiang Airport - Shuhe - Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Lijiang Old Town. I figured that if we stayed here for one night, we wouldn't have to take the same road again to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain the next day. I quickly found a guesthouse on the app - Yulong Shanshuitan. The pictures, location, and price all seemed super worth it, so I booked it without hesitation. We arrived in Lijiang at 9 am and picked up the car we had rented in advance at 9:30 am. We set off for Shuhe Old Town, strolled around, and went to eat Fuxian Xiaoguo Rice, which was delicious, with generous portions and good taste. After lunch, we drove directly to Yuhu Village. Since we were staying there, we contacted the guesthouse owner in advance, and they registered us, so we could drive directly in. Important point❗️❗️Vehicles not staying in the village can only park at the entrance of the village, and you can choose to walk one kilometer or take a shuttle bus to get in. When we arrived at the guesthouse parking lot, the owner, a young girl, came to help us with our luggage. Seeing that the child was asleep, she took us directly to the room and told us to check in later. Very thoughtful. The guesthouse is a very characteristic Naxi stone courtyard. The owner and her family are locals, but they keep the courtyard and rooms very clean. The key is that the view from the room is beautiful. In good weather, you can see the golden mountain in the morning and afternoon directly from the room. The breakfast made by the aunt is also delicious, nutritious, and tasty, with whole grains, staple foods, protein, milk, or coffee. The little one finished a small plate of broccoli and apples by himself, so I didn't take a picture. The rice noodles were the best we had in the past few days. This guesthouse gave me the feeling of returning to the original guesthouse, simple and authentic, away from the current internet celebrity style. We originally planned to rest and go to Longnv Lake behind the village, but we were too tired from getting up early to catch the flight. Everyone decided to go with the flow, and after a nap in the afternoon, we woke up at 7 pm, so we gave up and decided to stroll around the village for food. Because it was the off-season, two beautiful coffee shops were closed. But we still went to one early the next morning and even got to pet a super clingy orange cat. As it was getting dark, all the tourists were rushing out of the village, and only the three of us were walking up the village, leisurely enjoying the tranquility of the moment. We randomly found a restaurant with lights on - Chuiyan Restaurant, a poetic name that matched the environment here. The small courtyard was very atmospheric, and the wild vegetable mushroom chicken soup was super delicious. The owner put a lot of thought into the ingredients and cooking. The little one ate three small bowls of chicken soup with rice, and I was also full. The whole family was satisfied and warm. We walked back to our guesthouse in the night and the cool autumn breeze. At that moment, I really thought about retiring here and settling down. I envy the people living in such a beautiful place and hope everyone can come and experience a short stay.

Yuhu Village Longnv Lake is a newly popular spot in recent years. On this trip to Lijiang, we specifically allocated two days to stay in Yuhu Village, with the nearby Longnu Lake being a must-visit spot. Given our ample time, we visited Longnu Lake twice, once in the afternoon and once in the early morning. ❗️The experience varies significantly depending on the time of visit, which might explain the differing opinions. In this piece, I will share some tips for visiting Longnu Lake based on my personal experience. ❶ If circumstances permit, it's highly recommended to visit early, ideally between 7-9 am. During this time, Longnu Lake is incredibly serene, with hardly any tourists. Strolling quietly by the lake with a view of the snow-capped mountains, the tranquil air is only punctuated by the chirping of birds. ►A crucial point to note is that there's usually no strong wind in the morning, allowing for stunning reflections of the mountains on the calm lake surface, and making portrait photography less chaotic. ►If you can arrive even earlier, you can witness the sunrise over the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, a sight to behold. ❷ The area around Longnu Lake is quite expansive. If you can't make it early, consider venturing deeper into the area. Most tourists and horse riders stick to the outer parts, so heading further in can offer a relatively peaceful environment. ❸ Besides the well-photographed main lake, there are also two smaller lakes adjacent to Longnu Lake, which are equally picturesque. Our morning stroll around Longnu Lake at 7 am was indeed one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The tranquility and vastness of the place, coupled with the snow-capped mountains and the lake, filled us with a profound sense of contentment, even when we were doing nothing. This is what travel should be about, not just a fleeting glance at the sights.

You can take pictures with the lambs by the lake, and you can also ride horses. It is recommended to take pictures with the lambs, which are particularly cute and very photogenic.
