Incheon's Chinatown came into being with the opening of Incheon Port in 1883 and Incheon's designation as an extraterritoriality of the Ching Dynasty in the following year. In the past, the area held many stores trading goods imported from China, but currently most Chinese businesses in the area are restaurants. Today, the residents of Chinatown are mostly 2nd or 3rd generation Chinese, descendents of the early Chinese settlers. The area harbors many of the flavors of China, while the traditional culture of the first generation are preserved.

A visit to the Jjajangmyeon Museum
#familytrips2024
Address: 56-14 Chinatown-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon, South Korea
This is a very small museum on Jjajangmyeon - the origins, recipe, history and even on prices of Jjajangmyeon over the years. There are some life sized models demonstrating on the making of Jjajangmyeon, as well as models sitting down with fake meals on the table.
You can most likely cover the whole museum in less than half an hour. Good to visit if you are already at Incheon Chinatown.

If you are coming on a weekday, you may get lucky and park in China Town. But don't count on it if you plan your visit for the weekend. It's nice to walk around the streets or the nearby park, get something to snack on, learn about Chinese history, buy souvenirs, and so on. Depending on the time you arrive, different stores and restaurants will be open - bakeries and restaurants are usually open early, food stalls are more of an evening activity. There are even activities for kids, playgrounds, games, and gatcha machines.

It was just a nice walk in the China town located in Incheon. It is very convenient that you can take the line 4 Incheon line and the China Town entrance just opposite Incheon Station. I went there on Sunday and it was so crowded even with their local Korean . The food is very nice in China town, any choice but some of the famous shop need to have waiting list as too many customers during weekend

There is a Japanese concession next to Incheon Chinatown.
I will introduce you to the cafe 'SunnyGurakbu' on the first floor of a Japanese-style building.
If you sit by the window of the cafe and look outside, you will feel like you are in Japan😄
They say that dramas were also filmed here, so if you visit Incheon Port,
How about warming up your body with a warm bangsho at 'SunnyGurakbu'?😊
