The oldest Christian temple in London is located in its very heart - at the Tower Bridge in the City. This most beautiful church with extraordinary architecture, built on the site of a former Roman settlement, looks impressive even against the backdrop of the skyscrapers of the business part of the city striving towards the sky. The temple with a 1500-year history, of course, was rebuilt many times, but still some of its elements have survived to this day without changes. Its walls and most of the decorative elements date back to the 11th-15th centuries, and individual fragments of the mosaic floor date back to the Roman era. Numerous brass engravings and ancient doors from the 12th century are of great value. The church also houses a beautiful font cover, restored in 1682 - a world masterpiece of engraving.
