2024 Kimberley Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in December)
Ngumban Cliff - Great Northern Highway at The Kimberley
#traveldiaries
Driving from Broome to Halls Creek, Ngumban Cliff Rest Area and the Great Northern Highway are both the must stops.
Ngumban Cliff looks over the Great Northern Highway out to the plains, just under 100 kms to the south-east of Fitzroy Crossing and about 190 kms to the west of Halls Creek in the southern part of the Kimberley. The rest stop is over the back of the camping area where visitors can find shelter from heat (or rain in the wet season, if the highway is still open) and have a picnic with a view from the top of the cliffs.

Chamberlain River Cruise 🚢 Western Australia 🇦🇺
#outdooradventures
The Chamberlain River is a river in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise in the Durack Range near Yulumbu. The river flows in a northerly direction along the range until it merges with the Pentecost River near El Questro Station.
Whether you’re starting or finishing the Gibb River Road, you’ll pass one of the most well known stations along here – El Questro. The cruise departs at 3pm for a 1.5 hour journey. Highly recommend to take a river cruise and enjoy the nature and geography significance here👍
